I'd like to instrument the viewing behavior of my GBPVR users (yeah, I know, weird...)

I'd like to be able to detect the following events

1 user is interacting with gbpvr in any way (ie, navigation...)
2 user is watching a recorded show (recording details or at least name would be good to know)
2a (essentially 1 again) user pause/skip/play actions while watching)
3 ditto for 2/2a for live TV

This doesn't seem crazy hard to do, but I'm not sure its doable via the plugin system. All I need is the events. If they're already somewhere in a log file, that could work as well - I didn't find one but I don't think I have logging on.

I'm running one version back from current, but can update (just haven't got round to it...)

I am trying to get GBPVR on my PCH. When I attempt to run telnet from the PCH, I get a white screen that says "mount mounting xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx". The x's are the ip address of my gateway. My gateway address is static .1, my gbpvr server is static .10, and my PCH is static .100. If I try to go back and try to run it again, I get "mkdir cannot create directory". I think that's because you can only run telnet once, but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Does anyone know how do I do a fast scroll over the long song list? Also anyone know how to I do teletext on the live TV? Thanks.

I've been running a GBPVR server for a good while and it's been going well. I've tried the client mode, but I've run into a few problems.

I installed GBPVR and set it to Client Mode, Streaming, and set the paths to point to the server.

On the client, I can see the list of recordings and the TV guide, but I can't view anything (likely because they are DVR-MS which I know won't work in Client mode).

However, if I go to the Video or Music Libraries, I see the root of the local machine, not the server. I was under the impression setting the client to streaming would automatically take care of that?

Similarily, the System menu tells me the space on the hard disk drive of the client. I don't know, is that normal?

The whole install seems a bit flaky and slow, which is wierd cause the server is very slick and stable.

Any tips?

What decoders does it use when your mapping your digital channels? Does it use the same ones that you have saved in your playback tab?

My video looks great when im mapping the channels but when I actually go to watch them full screen they are so choppy that it is unwatchable. Is it possible that while im mapping it is using different decoders then when im watching full screen?

Second question. Would having a radio antenna within 200 yards effect my over the air HD tuning via Antenna?

Anyone know why not able to access the settings on v1.2.13 on the main menu? Each time I try clicking on the settings and it just pop back out to the main menu. Another problem I encountered is the switching tv channels with direct press on the numerical keys on the remote does not work. I can only go by using channel up and down key. Anything i can do in configuration file? Thanks.

I'd like to sort and tidy my recurring recordings but since I have a lot this is hard using the PVRX2 interface. Can someone point me in the direction of the database engine, or is the GBPVR database proprietary?

I created a YouTube video for someone on the NMT forums and I thought it would highlight the slower channel change of the NMT for MVP users

When you watch the video, the blue triangle comes up when I hit the channel up key, it goes blank when GBPVR says stop, and then there is the 8 second delay while the PCH player initializes before the actual buffering happens.

Of note these are two 1080i AC3 QAM channels down converted to SD as input to the same HVR 1600 card. So the MVP couldn't do this at all.

Finally got my act together and upgraded from 1.1.5 to 1.2.13 this morning. Noticed that the name/number of the channel in the guide is now only the name of the channel. Compared both GBPVR.db3 files, in this table they are the same

for example
name = 60 AETVP
channel_number = 60
display_name = AETVP

is GBPVR 1.2.13 now using the display name?

is there an option to concantonate channel_number and display_name to give an updated display_name? If the above is the case.

am testing digiguide using xmltvgui to grab the listings and the xml produced looks fine in XMLTV EPG Viewer (40 channels or so) but GBPVR only gets 16 when pointing to the data.xml.

not sure why this is and also, GBPVR doesn't display any program information either...

(am using GBPVR as testing in a VM)
