I get teletext subtitles on page 801 for Freeview DVB-S but I can't seem to get them for the new FreeviewHD DVB-T.

Has anyone successfully got subtitles with DVB-T and is it still on page 801?

Has anyone got this card (link) working in GBPVR yet?
Thinking of setting up a PC with two - would that let me do the whole "record one channel while watching another/record two channels stuff like Sky+?
I'd want it to access the "Freesat" service in the UK, including HD content from the BBC and so on.

Would a graphics card like the ATI Radeon 2400 HD decode HD stuff fine (and reduce the need for a monster CPU) or is there more to it than that?

I have experimented with GB PVR many times in my quest to get some value out of the useless HVR 4000 card I have sitting in my HTPC, but I'm never able to get either the PVR 150 or the HVR 4000 to show up as capture sources in GB PVR, I've always put this down to some sort of conflict caused by the plethora of crap I've installed in attempting to get New Zealand's crappy incompatible DVB-T +? working without spending $500 on the monopoly decoder.

Today I wiped a hard drive clean, installed Windows XP, GB PVR, and Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra (which I bought because it's apparently the only way to get the appropriate codecs to watch "Free" view). I then installed the required dot net and visual studio runtime cruft, Hauppauge drivers, then GB PVR. Once again, I was not able to find any capture devices listed when attempting to follow the guides here, this is about the tenth time I've tried installing this software and I always get the same result.

I'm using Windows XP Pro (I've tried with and without SP3), Hauppauge PVR 150, Hauppauge HVR 4000, and no third party drivers or software other than what I'm given to understand is required in order for GB PVR to work with the hardware and signal I want to receive.

Can anyone shed any light on what I might be doing wrong, I've wasted many many hours trying to make use of this worthless card.

I just came across a problem where MVP-PVRX2 process would take an exception when attempting to view a TS file on the MVP. It was because ffmpeg couldn't create the MVP.....mpg file and PVRX2 couldn't find the non-existent file. Anyway, it boils down to this line in the config.xml file:

<MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS>-y -i "{SOURCE_FILE}" -vcodec copy -acodec copy "{DEST_FILE}"</MVPFFmpegTranscodeTS>

Note that I added the quotes around the {DEST_FILE}. I also checked, it was also lacking the quotes in config-master.dont-edit-me.xml file. GBPVR version is 1.2.13

I also noticed the quotes are missing in the <PVR350TranscodeCmdLine> line as well.

You may want to fix them for the next release.

I've just upgraded to 1.2.13. I'm having no luck with the built-in transport stream reader. I've had this problem in the previous version, and I had resorted to tweaking the config.xml to disable the built-in TS reader. This version claims to have worked out the kinks, but it still doesn't work for me. Here's what I see:

Previously-recorded show with Built-in TS reader: No audio; only video. Pausing works, but then pressing play causes a loooong delay (20 seconds?) and then skips ahead a second-or-so and starts playing. Skipping forward and backward also cause a long delay. I've also seen it play very fast for a few seconds as if to "catch up" after the long unexpected pause.

Same show without the Built-in TS reader: Audio and Video are fine. Pausing/Resuming/Skipping works as expected. (Except I see a 1-second "glitch" in the audio/video after skipping -- I've gotten used to this...)

LiveTV with Built-in TS reader and with LivePreview: pauses and skips every second or so.

LiveTV without Built-in TS reader and with LivePreview: pauses and skips every second or so.

LiveTV with Built-in TS reader and without LivePreview: pauses and skips every second or so.

LiveTV without Built-in TS reader and without LivePreview: pauses for 5-10 seconds at a time then skips ahead.


I'd appreciate some help resolving these, and I'm willing to help debug it by running tests. It looks like Live and Recorded problems are probably not related. I've reproduced these and attached a series of log files. Each experiment is in its own directory in the .zip file.

So, I'm trying to get my new Freeview HD PVR working, but having a bit of trouble. I've been reading the forms and mucking about with my codecs, but to no avail, and I'm just as confused as when I started!

I have a Nova-T 500 HD tuner and Nvidia 8500 GT graphics card with GB-PVR 1.2.13. I know my hardware is working fine because I can record and play video with Power Cinema. I also know I can record fine with GB-PVR because Nero Player will play my recorded files.

However, when I try to play recordings with GB-PVR I just get a blank screen and 50% CPU usage (Core Duo 2.4GHz). I guess it's a problem with playback codec selection, but i can't figure it out.

It's only the H.264 that's a problem, GB-PVR will play MPEG2 files from my trusty analogue PVR-500 and Div-X avi files just fine.

Has anyone who has got this working nicely, and can help me get it set up?

This is the problem. I need to capture an RGBS (Red, Green, Blue, Composite Sync). I don't have $20K to spend on a professional editing or capture station that can output DV, so I'm hoping someone out there can give me a hand. Does anyone know of any products under, say, $300 that could get the signal into a PC for editing? It's coming from a Sony DXC-3000 camera to a...uhm...CCU that I cant recall. I can output composite video or RGBS. Composite looks great and all but if I can, I'd like to get the resolution of the component output... I can go for firewire, USB2, or PCI (no PCIe on my video box :mad: )

Any and all pointers or direction greatly appreciated

Since the upgrade to 1.2.13, I no longer see the channel numbers in the TV Guide in the PVRX2 - all i see is a few channel icons, only for a couple channels, and the station letters. (but they still show up correctly in the web interface.) Is there a setting that controls this?

I'm not sure how the file naming is accomplished in gbpvr with the HD-PVR device, but I thought it would always create .ts files. But while doing some testing, I got a .MPG filename.

The device wasn't acting correctly and my first recording attempt failed, so I unplugged it and plugged it back in to reset it. My very next recording then ended up a .mpg file instead of .ts. For a second, I thought another tuner did it, but the log shows it was the HD-PVR and the file is indeed encoded CABAC.

Not a big deal... just one of those little things.

Here's the log - look for the second recording attempt. The first one (which failed) got the filename correct.

me again... on the PC menu animation is fast with a Quad Core, but it used to be quite OK on the MVP even with the slow beast.

Before I start uninstalling plugins etc. do you have any reccommendations how I might troubleshoot this? (config and logs attached)
