Comskip works perfectly for me when called from GBPVR.
I used to use the GUI with a 'send to' to fine tune some things that I play regularly, but I haven't been able to get it to work for a while.
I have added the gbpvr to my windows paths, and it seems to find the ini, but hangs like the example below.
you can see I just updated to the latest release - but still have this problem.
Any help appreciated.

I noticed that when restarting the computer today that the recording service does not load automatically, and i tried to set a recording and it would not record. This was to be expected but i am trying to see how to get the recording service to start on computer boot up.
I noticed the other day i missed a recording or two because of this and would like to know if there is a setting or do i have a problem with the install
I have a firefly and while I like it & it works well - it simply doesn't have the range it should and I'm done trying to hold it just right to change the volume or channel from across my small living room.
What I'm looking for now is probably an infrared remote that is configurable enough that it will operate GBPVR well --- and if possible, is programmable so that I can turn on/off my TV and maybe teach it a few other tricks.
This is not a htpc question, but since you all are so smart and helpfull, and since Sub has all the bugs worked out and you are bored...
I am putting together a very basic new PC for my mom who has an old emachine now. I need to ship it to her and have her set it up. Her needs are very simple and she only has basic data on her system like outlook express files, WAB and word docs. Is there a free utility program out there that I can preload on her system that will make it easy for her to do the migration? I can talk her through it, but it would be easier with a utility (I think).
My head is spinning. New PCH a couple of weeks ago and 1080p HD TV yesterday (Dixons auction).
I appear to have the PCH HDMI problem that I've seen mentioned on their forum - a 'no signal' message on the TV, but by shifting to another TV source and back it returns. MVPMCX2, once it is up and running seems fine now, but is a bit of a faff to get running (telnet fine, gbpvr gives the no signal problem, but swapping TV inputs brings it back).
I'm wondering what, in general, the pro's and con's of component over HDMI are? I don't have any component cables and not enough plugs to make one up. It would be about a 40 mile round trip to get some to try - which is why I'm asking first.
Martins software is running fine and I'm impressed with his and subs integration of the PCH. I'm still trying to remember the new remote layout though.
These are questions that I can't find the answers to in the wiki or the forums.
1) How do I configure GB-PVR to use EWA? (I haven't gotten it installed yet). Specifically, in the Configuration/Capture Sources/Create Recording Source/EPG source box: Do I have to select a particular entry (ScheduleDirect, XMLTV Plugin, or DVB EPG Broadcast)? If I have the choice I would use ScheduleDirect.
2) Do I have to download something to use EWA? What? I thought the point of EWA is that I could use my web browswer instead of installing an application.
3) What is PVRX2? Is it something I have to use for EWA?
I was just wondering if anyone can give me a brief overview of how one goes about setting up a PVR to decode encrypted channels. For me, this would either be TopUPTV on UK Freeview, Virgin Media cable, or in the future, satellite channels.
I can't find a good guide to give me an idea of what I need and how feasible it is. I realise I need some sort of card reader and software, but with all the acronyms I can't seem to get my head around what I need.
Can anyone help, or at least point me to a website that offers a decent explanation?
I would like to add a usb based capture card to my setup. I have looked at the following 2:
1) Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2
2) AVerTV Hybrid Ultra USB
I want to watch analog tv (pal) and connect my stb to one of the video in ports. What the experiences of users with configuration (with GBPVR), video quality, system stability etc?
I read on these forums that the remote for Hauppauge (in the MCE edtion??) is horrible, so I just might get the non-MCE version. What about AverTV? I have had good experience with the Microsoft MCE remote kit, so I might get that also. Btw, anyone knows where to get this MCE remote kit from in the UK?
I am using GBPVR 1.2.9 with an HVR-1600. When I schedule a recording, I'm having to prepad by at least 4 minutes to ensure the recording starts on time. I will be in live TV before the recording is supposed to start and the recording won't start until the final minute before the show starts. I verified my PC and Satellite STB times are in sync so that's not it. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I recently added a second tuner to my system and then removed it as i wanst getting great signal. Since then i can not longer watch live tv but all my recordings are getting recorded. I am unable to post my logs at the moment, but was wondering if there were suggestions as to how to get live tv back
