I wish I could set the minutes on the update time - presently I can only set hours. This means that where the update script needs to hit a website, the hits will all happen on the hour boundary. If we could set minutes, these hits could be spread out, reducing the likelihood of sites getting overloaded, or in the case of sites like SkyTV in NZ, less likely that they will notice they are getting their EPG scraped.
2) You will need programs wget and 7z which are downloadable from the web. Wget graps files of the internet and 7z is an unzipper with a decent command line interface.
3) In your gbpvr config app, under your capture source, set the EPG update to run at some time after 3am which is when the EPG file is updated.
I have only one problem so far, and that is that I get double-ups on tv1 and tv2 - two programs at the same time, and the gbpvr program guide superimposes them on each other.
I would quite like maybe 3 categories or something - IE a default records, a kids recordings etc - When you record a quick record always goes to the default library, but with the record option you can pick from more than one recordings folder - I save things for the kids on the C: drive (a 320) and normal recordings for us on the D: drive (400 gb) - At the moment I simply move the kids stuff after the fact and they use Video Library.
It would help for people with multiple drives (I don't want to stripe as more chance to lose data that way - although I may stripe with redundancy soon - I'm guessing the performance of a stripe may help when recording multiple HD channels at one time - about to update my four tuners to DVB-T when my seconds Nova-T 500 comes off backorder!).
JUst wondered if anyone has noticed anything unusual in PVRX2 after installing SP3, which is now being pushed out by Microsoft update.
After I installed it, I noticed two things; firstly whilst watching TV I get the 'whats playing' on-screen graphic popping up all by itself every so often, as if I am pressing {ctrl}B. Secondly I had a recording half fail today - the program was on from noon until 1pm, but the recording stopped at 44 minutes. After some delay the recording started again but I missed a fair chunk...
I have a MediaPC with Mdapi all setup and working on XP.
OK, Now I want it a little more mobile as well, so I bought a USB TV-card (Emtec) to the new Laptop, which sadly have Vista Home Premium.
I installed a fresh version of GBpvr to the laptop and copied newcs, ffdecsa and everything in the MDPlugin folder (I have yankse and mdapifilter.ax in there. And I registered with admin rights).
But all that happens is that a user logs in to newcs. In the mdapi log window I only get one row stating the version of mdapi-session (do not remember exactly).
Is there some setting in Vista that I have to enable? In the last few days I've tried various versions of mdapifilter together with a bunch of other clients instead of yankse, but without any success.
Hello, I've searched the forum and the wiki for this and I can't find a refference to this in either place stating yes or no.
I'd like ti know if I have GBPVR run a custom command before recording and perhaps live TV and maybe afterwards.
I need to send a cusome command via hip send to change my box to SD instead of HD, however I could find this useful for all sorts of things.
P.S. Because I know sub is wonderful and actually looks at threads: Finally got all the codes need for my VIP 1200 but I couldn't get GBPVR to dail 4 digit channels manually If I selected to watch a show via the guide that had 4 digits that was fine but keying IE:1234 did not work.
I am using v1.2.9 now - I used to use the MyPictures photo plugin to view photos since it was the only way I could find to get the right aspect ratio. However in v1.2.9 MYPictures plugin doesnt work so I am back to trying the built in Photo Library viewer.
But I still cant get the right aspect ratio - I have GBPVR set to 16:9 widescreen with Blue standard skin - TV etc are all fine, but photos are always stretched horizontally. Is there any way to adjust the aspect ratio for the Photo Libary plugin (or alternatively get the My Pictures plugin to work again)?
Since upgrading to 1.2.9, I have been having a sporadic problem when I finish watching a recording. The computer freezes, either for 1 minute or indefinitely when I press the stop button. Upon unfreezing, I sometimes find that the computer has crashed and needs rebooting. My best guess, with no real basis for thinking so, is that either my video card is not up to the task of 1.2.9 or that my computer processor is not up to the task. I tried to attach all my logs but the zipped file is still too large (3320kb and I have enabled log flushing). The most recent occurrence just happened so it should be one of the last entries in the logs.
I am using the vmr9 fullscreen exclusive in large part because overlay gives me a black screen during playback. Sometimes when the video freezes and crashes, I get the message that my system doesn't support vmr9 which seems strange given that it uses vmr9 most of the time when it isn't crashing. To correct this, I need to choose overlay from the config program, get the system working and then switch back to vmr9 custom or fullscreen exclusive.
As you can imagine, this is a bit frustrating so I am wondering if I should upgrade to a new video card. Because my computer is old, it has to be a card that is not "pci" because I don't have pci slots. I have found a ASUS N6200 GEFORCE 6200 AGP8X 128MB for a good price and I am considering trying it to see if it corrects the problem. The website http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l...odelmenu=1 states that this graphic card "Powers the next generation of cinematic realism. Full support for Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 enables stunning and complex special effects". I am not worried about the picture quality as I am quite happy with the quality I have now (better would be nice but not something I am concerned with)
My support question is whether the logs (now posted) show anything else that might be the problem and\or whether anyone else thinks that suggested new video card might solve the problem.
The related question is what can I do to decrease the size of the log file (i.e. which logs should I compress to a zip file) so I can post my logs. After this problem is solved, should I disable log flushing so that my log files are smaller?
I have resisted doing the upgrade to be able to use the EVR renderer because it seemed like an intimidating task. Is there a reasonable chance that my problem would be solved if I use the EVR renderer?

p.s. I forgot to mention that the problem occurs with Cyberlink decoder, Nero Decoder, Intervideo non-css decoder. I am now trying gpl mpeg-1/2 decoder.
