Just a small point here. I use a monobloc LNB with built in Diseqc switching. This feeds through to a Nova S+. When I move from a channel on one Sat to the other, it takes approx 30secs for the switch to occur. I know it isn't the LNB, as I recently replaced my single output monobloc LNB with a similar dual output version. Whilst my set top box connected to the other output switches immediately, GBPVR still takes 30secs.
Is there a way of optimising or tweaking settings to get a faster switchover??
It might just be that my set top is lightening fast ;-)
I went and bought this awesome TV. LCD - digital, and when I got it home I was completely blown away by the quality of the picture and wanted (immediately) to go out and buy a freeview set top box. I was dissuaded by my husband who said I could build a media centre which could do heaps more.
So ... being an old Linux guru, he advised me to get a copy of mythbuntu, and I went out and bought a hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1100. After a week of trying to configure this I got totally frustrated , and started looking for alternatives. I have tried, WINTV (the software that comes with the TV tuner card) - that saw all the analog channels, which worked fine, - but I could not get any audio or video on the freeview channels. I have tried DB Viewer and Cyberlink Power Cinema and a couple of other apps.
I went to Geekzone and read a posting by SilverStack and he recommended GB-PVR, so I have downloaded this - but I can't even install it, I get this error message

I have unistalled all the other apps I had loaded, and this hasn't made any difference.

Just to follow up on previous posts for those of us in the US who are making the switch to digital tv...
Today I purchased an INSIGNIA NS-DXA1 (using uncle sam's $40 coupon of course!) and I am able to control it with the blaster that came with Hauppage PVR-150 using the LG satellite box code 0162. I got the box at Best Buy. I can even pick subchannels. For example 5-2 use 052. Use leading zero. Also, use the subchannel even if you want x-1. For example, if you want 10-1 then use 101, because if you use just 10, if it tries to tune to 10-1 while you are already on 10-1, it will default to 10-2 (ex. you have two shows to record, one at 9 pm and one at 10 pm both on channel 10-1).
WAF is back up again, was done some after I canceled satellite and went to rabbit ears. Now with DTV box picture is clear again.
I previously posted about a magnavox DTV converter box, but I still have no ability to control it via blaster.
I have a suggestion / wishlist for saved searches. If you save a search, it's clear that's what you want to search on, so it makes sense you just choose the saved search and it automatically does the search, i.e. do away with the second step, "submit" Good idea?
OK, this is what I did.
Chose save search, pressed submit.
Checked 3 recordings, pressed record.
2 OK, 1 marked as conflict.
Chose another item by checking box, then pressed record again.
Result was error below.

Is it possible to have a popup resize (or auto size) itself based on the amount of text? Also, change fonts, colour of text, add a graphic etc?
I'd like a popup similar to the one for programme details in TV Guide with perhaps a channel logo, title and start/stop times in one font or colour and a description in another font/colour.
I can derive my own popup from PopupMessageBox - could I cusomize it with a 'template' in my skin.xml file and then build the popup from that using the popup's skinhelper2?
Most of us have tried all sorts of different combinations of decoders, renderers, & multiplexors in the quest for the best video & audio in our TV, recordings, and video library. I thought it would be good to get an idea of what everyone is happy with, to see if any patterns emerge. Of course we all have different hardware but still, it could be interesting...

The glitchy Purevideo started causing problems in GBPVR if I used it for audio, but it was good at extracting dolby surround from stereo TV and Mpeg4 files. ffdshow works just as well.
