I had a hiccup where the entries in the RECORDINGS database no longer show up. Newly recorded programs are added but ones that were there no longer appear.
If I use XRECORD, the programs show up but the program episode descriptions do not appear.
If I use VIDEOS, the programs and their descriptions appear.
Is there a way I can rebuild the database to fix the problem?
Help! I have tried everything I can find here and nothing seems to work. No matter what I try my video "stutters" when I play it back. I have tried ALL of the following suggestions that I have found here:
- Tried every combination of Video and Audio Decoders I could come up with (when I use anything but the defaults it gets worse)
- Checked and my hard dirve is using DMA
- Replaced the quartz.dll file with the one I downloaded from here
- Turned FFDshow off
My system specs are (best I can remember, I am not at my puter):
Intel 2.14 GHZ
512 MB memory
Hauppauge PVR-150
Video - Raedeon ATI 32m
here's an interesting trick, i recorded The Tonight Show with Leno and when i play it locally, no sound....
couldn't figure out why, never happened once...
so i start playing it with another gbpvr box and it plays sound! cool...
so now back to original box, now it has sound too! cool..
so i stop playing on other machine...go back to original recording machine, no sound again! couldn't figure it out till i 'busy'd out the file by playing it on another machine and pausing it there, then playing it on original server while it's paused on other machine, works fine! weird...any ideas?
didn't see any 'extra' audio tracks in there...
will reproduce and up- relevant logs in a few..
second time it's happened so far in about a week, machine been recording fine for 3 months...
Anyone having any luck with this thing getting clear qam channels?
I can return it for something else that works, if anyone has a suggestion.
On comcast, with 111 clear qam channels easily tuned by my HP LCD TV's clear QAM tuner, but zip, zero, nada tuned by the hvr-1600 (in pvrx2 *or* the tv app) - latest drivers, known correct qam card - it's brand new, says clear qam on the box....
Does this thing just not work?
Edit: of course it works fine as an analog tuner, but then so did my old pvr-350, didn't it?
When installing, I gota fatal error while installing. :mad:
The message gave an error to the effect of there was an issue with the installer. :confused:
OS: Vista Ultimate SP1
Capture: Hauppauge HVR1800
All .net frameworks installed
pre-installed the C++ runtime prior to install.
Let me know what other information is useful for troubleshooting this error.
First of all, GBPVR is not supported in WINE/LINUX and still does not run.
Having said that, since my main PVR has been out of commission for quite some time, I decided to just play around with WINE/UBUNTU (GUTSY).
I was able to install and see Config with WINE but no PVR yet. I will still play around with yet. You can check the Process running and you will see PVRX2 in the background.
For the more adventurous, here are the steps I've made to at least see the installation of GBPVR.
1. Installed latest WINE
2. Installed WineTricks
3. Installed .Net 20 via the command 'sh winetricks dotnet20'
4. Installed all Visual C Runtime 'sh winetricks vcrun6 vcrun2003 vcrun2005 vcrun2005SP1 vcrun2008'
5. Download GBPVR latest
6. Install it with 'wine msiexec /i GBPVR10209.exe'
7. Voila, GBPVR install window, it will continue until the end, then crash, then you will see empty Config Window.
I will still continue to search for other dependencies, just for fun while waiting for my new PVR machine to arrive. Maybe, somebody smarter than me can figure it out.

I think I got the skin side of things OK but not sure what I should be doing with the image and accompanying text. I currently just get my button list without any icons.
