I want my code to behave differently depending on whether output is via an MVP or a PC monitor... is detecting

a reliable way to do this (or is there another way to tell)

Also, is there a specific eventType for the PCH...

I am still somewhat of a novice on GB-PVR. I recently built a new machine and in the process decided to have two capture cards. The original card was a PVR-150. The new card is a HVR-1600. I thought I understood the documentation in that each card required a different board number.

When I assigned board 1 to the pvr-150 all worked OK. I added the hvr-1600 as board 2. When I tried to configure it GB-PVR reported that the drivers appeared to not be installed. If I continued with the configuration it would allow me to but it would not record. It allowed me to schedule but would not record. I used the devchecker utility and it only showed one card installed ; the pvr-150. So I uninstalled both cards and started again… Same thing. Just for fun I made both cards board #1. It allowed me to configure both cards. It works flawless and allows us to record two shows simultaneously. My wife loves it…. now she can record American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. Life is good... for her!

So I am confused. Why does it work with both cards defined as board 1? Is it because the pvr-150 and the hvr-1600 are similar? I thought I read somewhere that the hvr-1600 was the replacement for the pvr-150.

Will there be a native X64 installer/exe's for GBPVR? I notice that GBPVR is running on my 64bit system as a 32bit process.

I am using a late Monogram AAC codec (ver 0.9.3.0, not sure if it's the very latest).
Anyway for live TV, for me, it works fine.

But on playback my voice goes out of sync pretty darn quickly.

So this is the opposite way around to the sync issues in thread "H.264 Voice sync issues Using Monogram AAC" (http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=33799 )

In this thread it says somewhere that a different codec is used for playback to avoid the Monogram AAC. Is there a way of actually forcing the Monogram one to be used for playback ?

Once I started to get the hang of it, I decided my old HTPC wasn't up to the task of what I wanted to do. A long look through Newegg ended up with the following ending up on my doorstep:


Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L mobo with a C2D E6750 (2.66ghz) Processor
2 Gigs of GeIL DDR2-800 memory
Radeon X1650pro Video
SATA2 120 gig HDD.

From my old system I just took out the DVD drive, HVR-1600 tuner, and logitech bluetooth KB and mouse (MX-5000 I think it is?).

Slapped it all together with 2TB of external storage (mixture of Esata and USB2) and threw XP Home on it to make it go. It's not the fastest thing in the world, but it does well enough for me to launch Guild Wars or Nexus from within PVRX2 and have it not skip a beat while recording in the background.


From the computer I have video going into a 37" LCD TV, and audio running through TOSLink into my Yamaha surround system.

Getting everyhting to work together was the next headache. I designed the system so that everyhting would do what I wanted, and would allow the software to do what it needed, but getting the correct mixes of codecs, options, and setup took a lot of trial and error. It's all sorted now and humming along nicely. Kind of boring actually. I dont need to fiddle with it anymore... I need a new project.

So that's my setup. I've probably forgotten stuff... it's a mess at the moment (working on building a custom bit of furniture for it all). How about some "about me". Lets see...

I've got a degree in Telecommunications with a steep bent toward Electronics. I currently work in the AV industry as an Infocomm CTS certified Installer doing high end board rooms, education, corporate training, and institutional multimedia and automation integration. Ran my own IT/Technology migration business for a while and figured out working for yourself sucks. I've got a background in programming for both PC's and firmware for microcontrollers and microprocessors and like building unnecessary and unnecessarily complex devices to do stupid menial tasks. Things like turn on an LED indicator when the sun comes up. Why? I dunno...just felt like doing it.

Soooo....yeah...that's a rather long winded hello. I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who's contributed anything at all to the board. You've probably helped me in some way. Hopefully I can start giving back.

Don't see it in the drop-down lists anymore, did it get removed (and not mentioned in the changelog?) or am I just blind? The "old" UI (gbpvr.exe) just hogs 100% cpu and doesn't run anymore (this is upgrading from 1.1.5, btw). Was there a patch I missed, or what's the deal?

PS: Bravo to Hauppauge coming out with the HD-PVR (it's about f'n time!) component (or HDMI) *IN*put is what we need here to record HD! It's the only way our cable boxes around here output HD is via component/HDMI. But the price tag, $249, OUCH, and an external box vs. an internal card...I prefer the internal card...just a matter of time, though, I'm sure!

I'm not sure when this problem started, but I just noticed it yesterday. None of the EPG data is getting loaded into GBPVR. I use yapi2xml to get the EPG data. I have verified that the .xml file is there and full of all the data that it should have. I also verified that I have the correct path and filename in GBPVR's settings.

After I try to update the EPG, this is the last line in pvrx2.exe.log:

I verified that the GBPVR recording service was running, and it was. I don't remember what version of GBPVR I had been using, but I completely uninstalled it, rebooted, renamed the \program files\devnz\ folder, then installed the latest version, 1.2.9. That didn't help. I also uninstalled .NET 2.0 and VC++ runtimes, rebooted, then reinstalled both, and rebooted. That didn't help either.

I have no additional plugins installed. Logs are attached. All help is appreciated.

This is getting frustrating. I know you're busy sub, but this happens off and on a lot lately.

Deletes (from the default recordings screen) delete the folder, but the database entry is still there, showing up.

Recordings, from both the local PC through TV Guide and through EWA hit this issue.

I'm not really asking for a solution, since this seems to be intermittent and maybe isolated to only me. However, does anyone experience DVD navigation problems such as: you can't FF or REW or chapter up or down, but only on some DVDs? In my case it seems to be DVD dependent.

I'm using dvd navigator and cyberlink for the DVD decoder.
