I have been planing to move to satellite service to get access to more hd programing as the local cable co's offering is a joke.

I am planing to get one of the HD-PVR's to record hd from the box, so I am looking for peoples opinions on using directv or dish with gbpvr.

Also how are people changing channels, I would assume ir blasting but I have no experience with that. I know that you can use serial changing on the directv box and that seemed like it would be more reliable so if any one could also comment on how reliable ir blasting is for them with dish.

Please feel free to leave your opinion about said services.

When attempting to record two shows on the same network that run back-to-back, GBPVR records ~200MB of data and then sits idle. The tray app will remain green and the status will say it's recording the first show for as long as I leave it alone (i.e. don't reset the recording service). The resulting dvr-ms file is not playable.

Padding is set to 1 before and 5 after.

So far no issues with back-to-back shows on different networks.

I'll attach log files ASAP, but I wanted to throw the question out there in case it's obvious to anyone.

Hello, fellow forum members,

I have seen to have "corrputed" some of my pictures by transferring them to another computer on a wireless connection and without a back-up. I knew it was a risky move, but I decided to take it, and it got me in a position that I wish I was never in. An example of one of the corrupted files are in the attachments. But, the thumbnail seems to be intact. I attached that as well. Is there anything that can help me "unscramble" these precious kodak moments?

not sure what im missing here

i have trawled throuh the forum to find an answer to this, but not having any luck

i have managed to get the PCH to the GBPVR main screen, i can navigate about, and view the TV guide and things like that, but when i pick a TV show to watch/ or a avi from it, the PCH does its usual flickering and i see the buffering message for a split second, and then back to the TV guide, or whatever i was on before.

hoping its a setting somewhere.. but not sure

i have a measley 640x480 LCD TV connected on the white/red/yellow connectors (sorry dont know what they are called)
(small side note: am finding the picture quality a bit ropey, not so bad when playing avis, but on the PCH menu screens, not good at all.. is this because of the connection to the TV i am using?)

I have just formated and reinstalled everything. Everything installed okay, but I can't update the EPG. When I click on UPDATE EPG it says that it is saving listings and that is it, it does not scan any of the transponders at all. I don't know what I have done wrong because I had it working before.

Any ideas what would cause this. The recording was programmed as a one-off from the TV Guide.

I havent got muche experience with sky plus or pausing live TV, so I was wondering how much of a delay there is supposed to be from the moment you press pause till the image pauses on screen.

At the moment it does some loading for a few seconds and there is only black on the screen, then the image shows up.

If i need to adjust the pre delay, whats a good amount to set it to? Right now its at the default.

Is there any way to tell if someone is logged in remotely to GBPVR (using EWA)? I had a friend logged in the other day when I went to reboot the pc for other reasons. Not sure if it is related but I couldn't get the pc (Windows XP) to shut down or reboot. I ended up killing it from the power switch. Had I known someone was logged in I would have waited.

Not sure if this is a PCH issue or a PVRX2 issue, but when the GBPVR screen saver activates, there is still a sliver (~1/4") of the GBPVR menu visible on the right hand side of the screen.

Is there anything I can do about this? The screen is aligned perfectly.

One of the changes returns the screen to GBPVR for netradio - does it do the same when playing from your music library?
