GBPVR has been working fine for the past few months but I tried to start it up tonight and I couldn’t find any channels. Tried a few things but I can’t seem to find the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Im not really sure where this problem arises from, but ive noticed a number of failed D-Box recorder scheduled programs failing, whilst the recordings are normally very robust and am finding the following in the Recordingservice log files:

I have installed a HVR-1600 card and I can watch cable and ATSC programming without an issue. When I record from analog cable it works great too, but when I try to record from the ATSC programming it doens't save a file anywhere. It says it is recording the show under pending recordings, but when the file is done recording it is no where to be found. It is not under Ready Recordings or anywhere on the HDD.

I have try going thru the forums for about 3 hours now trying to determine the problem. I did run Muxchecker and it says I have no MUX on there, but then I read that the Muxchecker will not find the MS version. Please help.

Using GBPVR gui I can not see files with flv extension even though I have added the extension to the config.xml for video library extensions. Using PVRX2 gui I CAN see flv files.

Second problem is I can not play flv using PVRX2, although I do have ffdshow installed and VLC plays them just fine. My goal is to be able to play back flv files using the GBPVR gui. ...I think codecs are evil :confused:

Seems some of you are having luck with getting contig (defragger) to run in the post processing batch file.

Despite my best efforts.. I can't do make it work.

heres the batch file

and the log file

So I know post processing is running, but I get no output into the log file, and it doesn't defrag the file.

If I go into windows task mangler (manager), There is a contig,exe running, but at 0 cpu load. Since theres no output, I have no idea what its hanging on.

If I manually run

postprocessing "C:\gbpvr\recordings\The Simpsons\The Simpsons_20080404_15001530.mpg"

It works fine.

I'd like to take the audio out of my Sirius radio (external tuner) and play it back over my laptop. If it were my normal PC, I'd just do RCA in on a PVR150 card, but I'd like to avoid buying a USB capture device.

Is there a way to play buffered audio that is being input over mic-in?

I found HarddiskOgg, which will record mic in and let you listen to it (with a pause button, even!) , but doesn't really buffer the input like a dvr does - it creates output files. It was originally written to record songs off of MTV.

I suppose I could write a wrapper script that deletes existing files on startup, but there might be something that already exists - I'm hoping you guys have some ideas!

I'm not sure when this started happening. But, when I go to delete a recording, nothing happens. So I checked the log, and this is what I found.

What process could be using this file? Is there any way to find out?

I just checked, the directory is empty. But, I cannot remove it. Even manually, it won't let me delete the directory..

Just wondering if anyone had seen these mobo's yet. I think I'm going to get one for my next pc build, that way, when It comes time to get the pc after that (you know it'll be outdated in a few years anyways), I can use it as a pretty powerful HTPC. Onboard video should be more than enough, especially with HDMI out.

BEWARE of the latest v1.2.9 upgrade IF you're still running the legacy GBPVR that provides Video Out on a Hauppauge PVR-350. I know it's going to be totally unsupported one day, but didn't realize that this is the release that would kill it for me.

I just lost almost six hours of my life trying to upgrade to the latest GBPVR. After getting a good GBPVR updated version download (first had corrupted CAB), the install appeared to go OK. GBPVR was slow starting, but I'd seen that before. I also attributed it to installing VLC and making some config changes to start streaming my video. However, it starting getting SLOWER on subsequent attempts. Then, the Hauppauge PVR350 TV output started getting glitchy - no audio, black/white picture, then the system finally threw a blue screen of death on the PVR driver. A power-off reset fixed that, but the slow GBPVR start continued, until it wouldn't finish starting AT ALL. A look at Task Manager showed a SYSTEM process taking 99% of the CPU, whereas the GBPVR.exe was taking 0.

First I backed out my streaming config changes and set the GBPVR recording service to interact with the desktop. I ran a virus scan, deleted lots of old programs, then deleted the MS Windows Live OneCare, and rebooted lots of times. None of this helped. GBPVR would actually fail to start, and the process COULD NOT be killed in the Task Manager. The GBPVR splash screen would go away, but the EXE still showed in the list, and the strange SYSTEM process kept using 99% CPU.

I de-installed and re-installed v1.2.9, still didn't work. So, I removed the latest GBPVR version and went back to what I had (v1.0.16), and then the legacy GBPVR fired up almost instantly. CPU is normal again.

I was trying to run GBPVR legacy for my SD TV's on my home's cable distribution, then simultaneously stream over my home network to another PC with a badass graphics card I have connected to my new HD 1080P TV. I thought the new PVRX2 in v1.2.9 would be better for that, and guessed that the primary system with the PVR-350 in it should be running the same version.

Now that I'm back on the older GBPVR, I suppose I should load v1.0.16 on the remote PC and try to configure for streaming again. I'm connected using wireless G to my router/access point at 54MB.

I'm confused on which version of EWA to load. Does it come with the GBPVR distro already config'd, or do you need to delete all that web stuff and re-install EWA from the download? It had been bringing up the TV Schedule from the v1.0.16 system using PVRX2 running v.1.2.9, but actual streaming would fail with the undefined browser error.

It appears that you can either run as a GBPVR client, OR stream. So far neither has worked. I have noticed that I can push a 1.5GB file UP to the primary system over the network (shared drive mapping) in a couple of minutes, but that copying the same file back to the remote machine takes a couple of hours. I imagine that this kills any sort of filesharing video playback. Has anybody ever seen this before, or have a fix to try?

I installed skiptool on top of my fresh 1.2.9, but when trying to run the skipeditor, pvrx2 just freezes. Skiptool used to work fine for me in 1.1.5.

Logs attached. Any idea?
