When I add the PCH MAC info into config.xml I get a pvrx2 prog error and it won't start. Looks like I have a non PCH conforming file. I have used the three patch files as posted by sub. Any ideas as to which patch I may be missing?
I was just thinking that it would be cool to have a checkdisk and defrag option, maybe under the system tab. It should be a way of scheduling a checkdisk and then run a defrag.
I know this system is primarily used as a pvr, so a defrag feature would be awesome if it were included within gbpvr. I know its easy enough to do through windows, but it will make gbpvr stand out more.

Right got this kworld card today and havnt a clue on how to tune channels in on my card through my Sky Tv Dish Connection.
I tryed using the software that came with it ,and i was totally lost.
So i found GB-PVR and seen i can tune it from there also ,so i tryed and utter failure.
Starting to get angry now lol.
My problem is i dont know what region/transmitter to use, and i dont know my LNB Switch Frequency, what i do know is - (info from my SKY+ Box about the LNB)
Low Band lo Frequency 9.75 GHz = 9750 MHz
High Band lo Frequency 10.60 GHz = 10600 MHz
default transponder
Frequency 11.778 GHz = 11778 MHz
Polarization = V
Symbol Rate (mbaud) 27.5
FEC 2/3
So if anybody out there can help me i will be forever at your debt.
I purchased the remote named above from Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6880121002), since I saw that MCE remotes are supported for GB-PVR under XP Pro with the proper driver. (Interestingly, it was not automatically recognized when I plugged it in, as most MCE remotes are with SP2. I had to download a separate driver from here: http://www.byremote.com.au/Hip/mce_remote_faq.htm) I was able to install a driver for this remote, and can see the red light on the USB receiver light up when it receives commands, but GB-PVR just ignores it. If anyone figures out how to use this thing, it would be great to hear from them. Thanks!
I seem to recall reading a post that the PCH actually upscales standard def to 1080 (or 720 depending on your setup).
If true, that is excellent. However, I'm wondering how it deals with standard def content that was letterboxed (to display 16:9 on a 4:3 set). If I'm watching on my widescreen, will it fill the display or will I get a letterbox/pillarbox combo?
Comcast (Pleasantville, NJ) is changing our lineup next week. Last time I had some wierd stuff happen. When the changeover occurred, I emptied the program guide, deleted all the channels from each tuner & then downloaded the guide again (this was back when zap2it had the listings).
I ran into some issues after that with some recordings not wanting to schedule (I think somehow the database still had record of the recordings as previously scheduled).
This time I figure it would be better to delete all scheduled recordings and before doing the same procedure. What do you all do when your provider changes your lineup?
All looks very promising for TV in the UK, however will i have to change anything in regards to my hardware (c2duo, 2gb ram, nova-t 500) or the gbpvr software? Does it support it already?
I'm trying to download the latest GBVPR and update my older version. I get the file, backup my db & xml files, start the install, and get the following:
Installer Information
Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Cabs.w1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.
I try several times to retry or ignore, but can't proceed. The GB-PVR Setup screen is stuck on:
Copying new files...
File: empty.db3
And finally:
Fatal Error
Installation ended prematurely because of an error.
Is there a known problem with the download, or am I doing something wrong?
