I'm really wanting to switch from Vista Media Center to either GBPVR or MediaPortal. I've settled on GBPVR due to some nice recommendations. I have figured out how to set up my tuner card and actually got video through it earlier today. My biggest issue right now is making the IR blaster and remote work. I have tried both HIP and IR Server Suite with little luck. I followed the IR Server Suite tutorial until I got to the Learning function. I once got a Both in the Port drop down but soon after I could no longer get it to come back. In the HIP tutorial I fail at the same thing. The Microsoft Remote I am using is a Version 2 (I think... it says Model 1039 on the bottom) and it works fine under Media Center. The blaster is a USB one that I have running two STB's. I have removed the suggested registry keys and even tried the replacement driver. No matter what I do I cannot make either recognize my remote. It is like it is no longer functioning. Have I messed up in changing the driver? Any help would be appreciated!
I'm trying to figure out how to get gbpvr to display time using 24 Hour clock. I found a previous thread that said gbpvr goes off the "Short date format". That's a little confusing, since we're talking time here, not dates. Also, my time format in XP is set to 24 hour clock ("HH:mms").
All suggestions are welcome. I'm running v1.1.5 and XP SP2
I just upgraded to GBPVR 1.2.9 which includes EWA74. I was previously using EWA release 62 (yeah... ancient history). Previously with the Advanced Episode Search, the results seemed to be sorted by Channel... now (with EWA74) they seem to be sorted by Air Date.
My question is whether I can get the old sorted order (by channel) somehow... I don't see any alternative sort control that would give me this. I know that some of EWA CSS stuff is for IE7 (and I only have IE6) but wasn't sure if I just have to "suck it up and live with it". I did a quick search of the forum for other discussions about this but came up at a dead end.
Being new to GBPVR, I don't really have much experience troubleshooting, but a search of the forums didn't return any hits.
Basically the problem I have is that no matter what I do, goto my recordings, watch live tv, EPG, Settings, etc. After a few seconds it'll return to the main menu, as if I had hit ESC. I can eventually get what I want done, but it's a real PITA.
Any ideas anyone?

I have tried and tried. I've been using GBPvr for over a year now and until recently have had no issues. All of the sudden Comclean ain't..
It runs through the post processing file but when it hits the part where it says "call comclean %1" that's it. It just stops.
I've tried comclean2 with cutteraman but no go there either.
It's going through comskip without issue and creating the txt and edl files but comclean just isn't working. I've tried dropping the txt files on the comclean bat and it just doesn't work.
I'm new to GBPVR and I have searched the forums and wiki before posting my question.
I have conflicts that show two shows trying to record at the same time but I have two tuner cards. Why does it not automatically select the other tuner card to record the second show?
Things I have tried and looked at so far:
Both cards work and on live TV and record (I confirmed this by rearranging their order under Define sources)
They both share the same EPG data (from what I have read on the forms this is normal)
They both share the same channel numbers (I could not find if this could be an issue or not)
I run my box without Live Preview in buffered mode, and the Previous Channel button (Ctrl-M) doesn't appear to work. It would be great to be able to switch between two programs, or between a recording and a live (albeit buffered) program.
