Here is a bootskin that I created for my gbpvr setup that I thought I would share in case somebody else would like to use it. You can install it win the wincustimize bootskin utility.
I have GBPVR set to record the news and Campbell live every night and also "House" tonight (Tuesday).
I also run PVRX2 on the "second monitor" and potentially on live tv all the time, ie. doesn't go off at night.
Tonight I found the status of the recording service was "Recording House". However when you look in the file system the recording is not there and if I run "File Monitor" nothin's happening. Also I found the directories that should have had the news and Campbell Live are deleted - both are set to only keep 1 recording.
I restarted PVRX2 and the recording server and bingo it actually started recording.
Also I am having a problem with the EPG/Guide updating from freeview - but there are lots of postings on that and the TV Guide.
I had assumed that if you were watching one channel and it needed to record another channel it would just switch the live TV over or something ?
BTW I did try to search the forums on this but couldn't find anything particularly relevant

Just wondering how the file structur should look if i want to test the new MD-api (2.0beta7) filter for multi tuners. Cant find anything in the log files. And it doesent generate MDAPICards.xml. I have checked the new boxes in tab misc2 in config. am i just lost or maby its not supported.
It seems when in timeshift mode or recordings in progress that I cannot forward to the absolute end of the recording. If I try the picture just hangs, if I skip backl a little it comes to life again. It seems like the catch up point is "in the future". So how hard gbpvr is trying, it cannot find the catch up point.
So for now I skip forward until it "hangs" and then just a 10 sec skip back.
Frustrating little problem this is...
I have this long standing problem since several GB-PVR versions back. The problem is that if I use Live TV without timeshift I mostly get video/audio sync problems. Not always but enough to irritate a lot. Hitting escape to meny and back to Live TV (f2) mostly cures it.
The funny thing is I never get this problem in Timeshift mode or when watching recordings. What on earth is going on? I tried setting the Live TV buffer to high values such as over 1 second, and it solves the problem sometimes but not always. So for now I am forcing Timeshift mode always on - gives sluggish chanel change, but always in sync.
I tried several different combinations of video and audio decoders, but not really solving this. I have a known to work version of the cyberlink demuxer, and cyberlink 7.3 video decoder and NVIDIA purevideo audio decoder right now. I also have a multidec setup with newcs and yanksee.
After handling the onKeyDown event in a popup, the onKeyDown event is fired in the main plugin class even though I'm not calling base.OnKeyDown. Is this intended behaviour or is there something I'm missing?

Installed v1.2.9 on an older P4 2.8 Ghz, 512meg XP SP2 system using my old Hauppauge PVR2 USB. Set it up as a server. Got I-xmltv running pulling in the extras for my EPG from SchedulesDirect. Added the Weather plug-in to PVRX2 and loaded up the web interface for management and streaming then installed VLC on my workstation/client. Thought to myself, âThis is really pretty neat. On to the next step.â
Purchased a Hauppauge MVP, an HVR-1600, and a DB8. The MVP was pretty much a plug-it-in and go ⦠sweet. HVR took a bit of fiddling, primarily mapping channels from the ATSC side of the card. (end-user issues) Iâve got the DB8 sitting atop an eight foot 2x2 leaned up against the corner of the house. (wife tells me I canât leave it there, altho she thought the MVP was pretty cool too )
So ⦠the XP2 system hosting GBPVR currently has a NVIDIA GeForce MX 440 and PVRX2 doesnât display an image when trying watch live or a recording. No problems, I really intend for that system to be the GBPVR server. My primary workstation/client has a Matrox Parhelia in it and PVRX2 wonât even run, the old GBPVR UI will but w/ the web interface I pretty much just stream whatever I want to watch so again, no problems.
The DB8 is probably not in the best location (or so the wife thinks) and Iâve got it âaimedâ off towards my ATSC stations about 30 miles away. I will probably end up putting it up in the attic at some point. I havenât watched any HD recordings yet but when streaming live to my client, they are jerky and pixilated<sp>. The MVP will just display a black screen on the tv and then usually the MVP reboots. While streaming HD the CPU on the XP2 server is running 75-80%. Live streams from the cable side of the HVR work quite well on both the client and MVP.
My next step is probably going to be re-building the âserverâ. I think XP will be a pretty good platform to build on. I see many of you have your system spec in your sigs so Iâll use those as ideas and guidelines.
When GPBVR requests a new Recording on filename and my pluging successfully starts a mpg stream to that filename - does GBPVR lock it?
What I'd like to do is to have pre streamed liveTV - when GPBVR asks for a recording then I can just hardlink to the prestreamed source file, making for a instant tuning request.
This works fine the first time, but the second request causes the GBPVR screen to blank. If I just copy the stream then its ok.
Why am I trying this? two things:
- It allows for the possibilities of multiple virtual tuners hooked to the same physical tuner allowing for overlapping recordings on the same tuner, also DVB multirec support.
- Live TV channel flipping becomes very fast.
I can work around file locking, but would be easier if I didn't have to
Hi all, I'm experimenting with a IRecordingSource, IRecordingSourceConfiguration plugin. Have got a stub together that loads and doesn't crash
At the moment I'm not accessing any tuners, just supplying sample mpg files in response to recording requests. At the moment all testing is done with LiveTV (Live PreviewMode off)
These appear to serve very similar purposes - startRecording is called when initially starting LiveTV, then startNewFile is called after switching channels. Should I be deleting the old recording filewhen startNewFile is called?

This appears to be the only indicator of which channel I'm meant to switch to and relates to the source channel number in the "Edit Recording Source" dialog. Would this be correct?
