I'm on my test/client machine and when I try to open pvrx2 it get an unhandled exception error and get the red x screen. I would usually think this would be a skinning problem but I uninstalled gbpvr and deleted the devnz directory and then installed 1.29 fresh and the same thing happens. Attached is the logs.
When I do a quick record (prss CTRL + K) what qaulity level (low/medium/high) is the recording set at? Is there a place in the config program to set the default for this function? I'd like to have it at high but when I do this kind of recording the resulting file is small and not as prestine as the video I get when I set a manual record of high quality.
Oh, dumb question, but what is the program PVRX2.exe used for?
I'm not sure where to post this but I figure the issue I am seeing might need both of you to fix. I generally use ML2 for tkgafs jukebox mode and GB-PVR for disk playing but there seems to be two problems with mvpmcx2 and ML2 jukebox mode.
1. The first song in the playlist starts playing directly which is nice but it also seems to be the same first song in the follow-up PLS file.
2. When the PLS finishes instead of a new random playlist I get the same one repeated.
Of course, this could be randomness but I don't think it is.
Trying to get client/server functionality working using the streaming mode.
It works fine with my Windows firewall switched off (on server), but when on the client does not respond at all.Even the tray icon is dead.
When I enable the firewall on the server everything halts on the client. So obviuosly I need to punch a hole there for some ports, but which ones?
I'm having some problems while watching live video (it looks a little like a cheap lcd tv) I'm watching these on my regular tube tv. I think it may actually be a hardware issue.
I'm running an older machine and I was wondering if anyone would recommend upgrading specific parts.
It's a Celeron 351
512meg of DDR 400
running an ATI x1300 pro AGP card
all running on XP
now, I don't think there's anything I need to do about the graphics card (don't want to spend 400 on another AGP card) but I can upgrade the memory to 2gigs of 533 DDR2 and the processor up to a e6700. The ram is pretty cheap, but the processor might cost me a couple hundred dollars, but it will upgrade the system bus from 533 to 1066.
This is my primary pc, but when I'm done with it it will be a standalone HTPC.
Any reccomendations?
(the guy at the computer store told me to get a new MB and upgrade everything because of my ram and processor limitations, but I do not want to format my hard drive and reinstall xp)
It's great that net radio is back in the main release and showing artist - song information.
The problem I'm having is that the song information is not updating when the song changes. In order to get the screen to update, I need to hit a key on my keyboard or remote.
Is there any way to get the screen to update every n seconds so this can happen automatically?
i get conflicts fairly often after epg update (understandbly) from recurring recordings. would be nice if a pop up advised you of a conflict - and maybe a reccuring priority list, so if the conflict does occur + nothing is done, it records the higher priority show.
Ok, now that GBPVR is practically perfect, I thought it time to report the final longstanding bug:
To reproduce, create a recording with Recording Type: "Record Season (all in this daily timeslot, this channel)"
Now view the recording details in Recording| Recurring, the details will be shown as:
"Daily, between X - Y"
Where X is 90 minutes too early and Y is 30 minutes too late. (bad waf)
The recordings are actually correct, although I haven't checked pre and post padding.
This recording type, "all in this daily timeslot, this channel" is very useful for daily soaps on channels without any EPG. I schedule the generation of a fake XML EPG with 1 hour program slots but if this fails then I know the recordings will continue (good waf) even if the TV guide shows nada. Correction: should be "hope the recordings will continue"; not reckless enough to find out.
This is purely cosmetic but if it's a quick fix that would be great.
