This may belong in the plugin help section...I'm not sure.
I've run through some info on comskip, comskip and comcut as well as -stattik's tanscode batch file.
I've also checked some google searches and so forth trying to answer my question but no luck so far.
Here are the questions:
a. Why does comcut produce a text file with shaded text/graphics accurately displaying the logo for a given station (extracted by frame comparison from the mpeg file)
b. What other programs use this logo file, and in what ways?
c. I have not found a way of using the transcode.bat file to use this logo file in any way, as I would like to remove the logo from the mpeg file.
I have found several sites describing methods of grabbing a frame of video, editing just the area that contains the logo, and supplying it as a filter to various editing tools such as virtualdub and another for using mencoder, but neither of these mention a text logo representation.
I have also found a recently released (3/20/08) Australian utility (Translogo) that identify's the logo in one pass and then has a utility for specifically removing it. (Apparently ABC is now adding large colored logos to Aussie channels)
However if the logo is already being identified by comskip, and mencode is already being used to remove the comercials with comskip input file, and there exists a method of masking it out with mencoder why the three couldn't be combined in the transcode batch.
I've got a strange problem. When I check the TVGuide trhough the web pages, all looks OK. However, when I check the TVGuide trough PVRX2, BBC2 and NET5 channels are completely empty.
I noticed that in the PVRX2.log this shows:
2008-03-28 23:24:48.829 ERROR [4] unexpected error loading channel listings: System.ArgumentException: Item has already been added. Key in dictionary: '92' Key being added: '92'

(92 is Net5, a similar thing shows for BBC2)
I have emptied my EPG guide, reloaded all channels, but the issue remains. What can I do to get my guide back in working order? Any tips?
I sometimes don't have my monitor up yet before the computer comes on and it autodetects it and thinks it's missing. The card then proceeds to screw up the resolution. I would like to know if there's a way to force a resolution to stay put. I have an older machine with an Nvidia card and this appears to be the default behavior for Nvidia but not for ATI.
Symptons:
Channel selection from TV guide works fine with the channel changer (usbuirt) run correctly; pvrx2.exe.log @ 2008-03-28 19:15:21.750 & 2008-03-28 19:15:54.031
However, when recording from the tv guide, or a scheduled recording, although the channel changer is called according to the logs, the usbuirt does not 'flicker' and the 'current' (i.e. more than likely wrong) channel is recorded; GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log @ 2008-03-28 19:10:44.343
Could it be that some compute-intensive record start operation is running concurrently with the channel changer call?
There seems to be 'less' happening, err 'less' happening which is logged, immediately after the channel change call in pvrx2.exe.log as opposed to the recording channel change in GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log.
Note that I am using a custom channel changer but the usbuirt still fails to flicker using the standard hipsend and 400 mS between characters ( {channel} 400 4 )
There are several verbose errors ( :-) ) in the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log around the time of the recording but these seem to have been discounted in previous posts http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=34231
The other card, a Nova T-500, works fine in all respects but obv this does not require the channel changer.
First upgrade to 1.2.9 was over 1.1.5 . Second attempt was an uninstall and a fresh install to an empty gbvr directory; same difference.
All the above work(s|ed) fine in 1.1.5
Tips, howls of derisive laughter, requests for further info welcome. I can always revert to 1.1.5 but would miss the 1.2.9 shiny goodness.
Oh, great product btw, but I guess we already know that ;-)
i have tried to search the forums and the wiki for this, but am having no luck
have no othe rproblems with livetv on th eMVP, other than it definately crops the sides of the image, and possibly the top/bottom..
no variations of the TVs picture settings make any odds
i had tried the yellow box drawing thingy, but saw the howle box first time, so didnt think that was the answer..
is the zProcess plugin the the direction i should be going in or am i, once again missing something simple
Borrowed a device that can capture MPEG2 data streams directly from a cable box, creating .ts files. They play fine on a PC using VLC but when I play them back using gbpvr they start out with audio/video slightly out of sync. If I then exit the file and play again, the playback speeds up to 3x or 4x times regular speed which is very strange behaviour.
Anybody have any idea why this could be happening?
Does the fix for the EVR from microsoft apply to Vista or is XP specific.
I'm using Vista. When I select fullscreen aspect ratio, the video is about two inches from the left my my screen and one inch from the right of my screen.
Since 1.1.5 the EPG data is partially getting titles and descriptions in Swedish here in Finland. Being a bilingual country the data is broadcast in both languages to suit everybody's needs.
Up to 1.1.5 I can't remember having descriptions in Swedish but since then I see them every now and then. It's not a huge problem except that the titles are mostly translated and GB misses these "misstitled" shows. Is there a setting in config.xml that can be used to select the language (as in commercial STBs) or is this something that can only be fixed in a future release?
Also, if needed, I should be able to provide some raw transport stream with the EPG data intact.
Was the Fast Forward/Rewind option removed from the latest version of GB-PVR (1.2.9) I'm only getting the short skip when I hit the FF button on my remote.
Some asked me a question about the remote keys on the NMT and I was going to point them to the wiki explaining that the keys are the same as the Hauppauge remote, except of course while media plays http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manua...dReference which I notice the wiki is a bit out of date.
In the media libraries you can use:
Prev and Next to scroll a screen at a time.
In the TV Guide:
Green and Blue scroll a screen at at time.
Also hitting Play on folder is default Shuffle Play. To use it to play files in order use this config.xml setting
