Sometimes my MVP hangs at the flash screen. I have one of them rebranded ones sold on eBay last year. When it hangs there, I can't for the life of me figure out what to do to make it work. Killing power makes no difference. Then, the next day, it may or may not work again when I plug in the power.
Just looking through this great peice of software but when i go into the guide (im only using a keyboard at this stage) there is no back button in the guide menu?? or is there a keyboard shortcut??
Ok... Swedish DVB-T has decided to switch to MPEG4. All new channels in the fall, and a few of the old channels, will start sending in MPEG4. People will have to get new STB's in order to receive the new channels.
My question is, do the Hauppauge cards do MPEG4? I'm in particular thinking about the cards I have, the nova-t-usb2 and the nova-t-500.
My TV set just supports 480p, 576p, 1080i, 1152i. I have problems running mvpmcx2. The only working mode is 1080i @ 60Hz but would prefer 480 or 576 because 1080 looks fuzzy. Ideal would be 720p x 576p @ 50Hz.
Using latest mvpmcx2 - dated 27.03.08 and latest PCH FW 23.2.08
mvpmcx2 -m 720 // error - this mode is not supported by my TV set
mvpmcx2 -m 1080 // Ok but fuzzy @ 60Hz
mvpmcx2 -m 1080 --edtv // no difference still 1080i @ 60 and fuzzy
mvpmcx2 -m 1080 --frequency 50 // error - 1080i @ 50 is supported but doesn't work
mvpmcx2 -m 1080 --edtv --frequency 50 // error
Using --edtv has no effect at all. What I'm doing wrong? Is there a way to start up with 720x480 or 720x576?
I just wanted to ask a few questions regarding the episode search in EWA. I was wondering how the search worked because it seems only to search for ALL the search terms, and doesnt seem to allow for partial search matches.
For instance if i want to look for documentaries that feature either references to wars, such as Vietnam or Korea, but exclude those that mention WW1 or WW2 - is it possible to use operators to include either 'Vietnam' OR 'Korea' and exclude terms 'WW1', 'WWI', 'WW2' and 'WWII'
It seems that this ability would allow a degree of automation and allow me to set auto record without fear of filling my hard drive overnight!
If this isnt currently feasable what would be the best way around this?
Could you add the playlist functionality to the videos as well? So when I choose "play all" I can skip through the files just like with music? The reason is all the home videos I have, which are very short (2 minutes). I didn't want to add this request to your sticky post, so I created this thread in stead.
I've just downloaded and installed the latest version of GBPVR, run through the quick start guide but when I "Map digital channels to EPG" and it does the scan, it doesn't find any digital channels at all.
I'm using an AverMedia Volar USB DVB-T tuner, and when I use it's own program to scan for channels, it also comes up with nothing.
My concern here is that the Volar doesn't work with DVB-T in New Zealand. I'm aware that the main system hasn't been turned on, but I figured there would at least be a couple of test signals that I can tune into.
So, my questions are:
1) Are there test signals that I can tune into?
2) Is the MPEG rating of the tuner dependent on software or hardware? This tuner is apparently MPEG2, and the NZ signal is MPEG4. My understanding was that the tuner just passed on the signal to the software, and it didn't matter what format it came in on until it hit whatever was displaying it.
3) What do I need to do to get a signal?
I am Very close to releasing a beta version GameZone2 for testers. So please if you are using PVRx2 and prepared to give a few hours of your time then respond via private message with your email address so I can email the installation pack to you.
GameZone2 only supports PVRx2 (sorry GBPVR users) and has the new look and feel.
It has a few additional features and bug fixes. I will not be giving it out until I have tested the upgrade on my home setup.
The main change is the look and feel so that it blends in with PVRx2 as opposed to standing out like a sore thumb!
So any Victims out there willing to give it a shot?
Can I get some recommendations for a tv tuner card around $30 new or used. I want it to support over-the-air HD and the regular kind that comes through the comcast cable. I guess thats called NTSC?
That law with digital cable that happens next february I think. That only effects people using antennas correct? I have the usual comcast cable that goes up to like channel 80. VH1, MTV, and the hobo country channel are the last three.
I don't know if my comcast subscription includes the QAM. But surely that would be easier to receive instead of using a antenna to get OTA HDTV. Can rabbit ears recieve OTA HDTV or do I need a special antenna?
I will be using in the computer below with vista x64 business so I need some software to go along with it, I guess GBPVR or something, I have nero v8 and it has a tv application, not sure how good it is. I don't need a radio tuner, or a remote but the remote would be nice.
