Is it also sent when recordings are scheduled, canceled, and changed (e.g. from the TVGuide) or only when the EPG is reloaded? If it is just the latter, is there some other event I can use to find out that the list of pending recordings has been modified?
In case the developer(s) get a ton of free time on their hands, perhaps they could implement a couple of the following features?
* Setting that let you toggle the file-type on/off from file view. Example: "My Holiday Video.avi" would be displayed "My Holiday Video". (it's easy, just split the string on each punctuation and rebuild it with all but the last in the result array :p)
* Ability to change background image for each plugin.
* Ability for multiple background images in one plugin, where it fades from one to the other on the list based on an interval defined in the plugins xml
* Ability to add images to the main menu items. Right now you can just add one image to all. Example: Next to "Video Library" I would like to add an icon of a stack of DVDs, just like I would like to add an image of photos next to "Photo Library".
* Search ability: From within for example "Video Library", under "Play" for instance, there could be a search choice. One the user highlight it, a small popup window (or equivalent) pops up that takes input. It doesn't have to be a search per sè, but could also be a filter, whereby if I pressed 'K', all movies starting with 'K' would show up on the list. Would also be cool if you can treat the numbers on the keypad to work like on a cellphone (press one time on '1' and you get 'a'), so that could be utilized on a remote.
I haven't been recording stuff in a while and I went to do a recording over QAM and it fails and don't know what's going on. I get two files of 6k each and some dvr-ms error file and temp file and that's it:
since last week I try to get GBPVR up and running. Before that I used Mediaportal, which is great (especially the gui) but a bit buggy and slow. Thats why I want to use gbpvr, and I´m amazed by the speed of the Live TV module.
But I´ve one big problem and a few (probably newbie) questions to which I didn´t find an answer yet:
I´ve 2 capture devices (see signature). When I watch a DVB-T channel everything is fine. But there is no sound when I use the analog TV-card in Live TV with preview mode enabled. As soon as I start timeshift the sound works also with the analog card. So, no sound with analog card without timeshift but sound works when I use timeshift. I tried all possible sound settings in the config program. I will post the logs later (don´t have them here).
Is there any way to edit the Live TV OSD? For instance I would like to see the start- and endtime of the currently running show when I switch channels.
Yesterday I played a bit with gbpvr and while watching live TV I started a 15 minutes record by pressing the record button. I found no option to cancel it while gbpvr was recording. So, is the a way to cancel a recording that is currently running?
As said above I have 2 tuner cards. Is it possible to watch Live TV while the second card is recording a show?
When I have a look at my pictures I love the Ken Burns effect. Is there a Picture plugin out there that has the possibility to use Ken Burns effect in a slideshow? I didn´t find any but perhaps I missed it...
If there is not such a picture plugin I would like to implement one. I already had a quick view at some source code, but I´m new to C# (I´m doing C/C++ and Java). Is there a documentation for the plugin-api?
I would like to have a pip mode. I can understand that sub doesn´t want to spend time on a feature that he doesn´t need or even want. Would it be technically possible to have pip in fullscreen? And would it be possible to do that without a total rewrite of the Live TV module?
Thats it for now . The last thing I want to say is that GBPVR is great! Especially because of the speed!
I have found that my mpg files are gynormous. I have set my autoconver to run for about 4 hours, and I have set it to convert to Xvid. I do have the xvid codec installed on my pc, but I've been waiting for 3 days and noting's converting.
Just a few question about the 45 button remote and gbpvr itself.
First, can I set my BLUE button on [default] to bring up my config.exe file? (maybe this should be in the hardware section)
second, is there a way to pagedown in the tvguide? I hate going down 1 show at a time. it takes FOREVER!
last, when I'm watching a show, and I need to go through my menues (for whatever reason) and I'm at the system screen, or main menu screen, the show is still playing in the bottem left. How do I exit the menu I'm in and resume that show back to fullscreen?
Before I start, thanks for a great piece of software. (Donation imminent.)
I have GBPVR installed and working fine apart from one issue which I suspect is down to shortcomings in my capture card/drivers.
I tried setting my system up so that it would go into standby (S3) and come out of standby to make recordings. According to the logs, recording starts but the files are always zero length (0KB).
I even tried rebooting in wake.cmd but this doesn't apear to fix the problem!
Setup:
- Intel mobo with dual-core CPU.
- Hauppauge WinTV Nova-T PCI tuner card.
- HD 3450 graphics card. (Using ATI Decoder and MUX)
- GBPVR 1.2.9.
- MCE Standby tool.
I also tried hibernating but the recording service wouldn't wake up the PC reliably.
I have been using Mediaportal (and therefore TV-Server, which requires SQL server...) for a while to watch Freeview HD on my Pinnacle Hybrid Pro Stick (PCTV 330e). This setup has generally worked well, with excellent video quality (for the most part) and audio quality. However I've found the whole setup just too... heavy.
So I decided to try GB-PVR.
All channels have been detected correctly, and I can even view TV.
The problem is that both video and audio are incredibly choppy.
I think the issue is that PVRX2 only seems to be using one core, and being a cheapish laptop, I don't have hardware acceleration of H.264.
My laptop has a Core Duo Processor @ 1.66GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, and intel 950GMA graphics. Hardly a powerhouse I know, but it is capable of playing all stations bar TV3 smoothly, however both cores are needed...
I'm using the exact same H.264 decoder as before, and am using (of course) the monogram AAC decoder.
I have come across a weird problem with my QAM recordings, using an HVR-1600. Suddenly there has started being a stutter in the recording every few seconds, it just skips ahead say a half-second in the video, but audio and video stay in sync. Weird thing is, this only happens on scheduled recordings; it does not happen if I watch live TV, and fast-forward/rewind it.
It may be related to upgrading to GB-PVR 1.2.9, and I'll try downgrading next but maybe someone has experience with this and can help? It also might be of note that at the same time this started happening, I had to change the Tuning Request for one of my QAM channels, as it seemed to shift by one place in my scanned channels list. Perhaps my cable company (Time Warner LA) is reconfiguring their QAM signal? Anything I can do to compensate for this? Thanks!!
