Ok, I have a geniatech DigiStar PCI DVB-S card (same thing as the digiwave 103g, which GB-PVR has listed in devices) and am running into some problems, wondering if anyone could give me a little help or some ideas I've missed.
Here's my setup
DishPro Quad LNB (twin LNB to look at 2 satellites at the same time, 4 outputs, built in diseqc switch)
straight cable run from LNB output to DVB card. no additional switches, splitters, etc.
I am looking at 2 satellites. Now, with my old Hauppauge Nexus-S and MyTheatre or ProgDVB, it worked fine, diseqc port 1 was satellite 1, and diseqc port 2 was satellite 2.
I go into GBPVR and setup my device, add in a capture source for satellite 1 using my dvb card on Diseqc A
I then add a capture source for Satellite 2 using my dvb card with diseqc set to B
When I go to scan channels, I get the same channels on both satellites. This tells me that I have a diseqc problem and it's not switching the built in diseqc switch between ports. I went through the BDA.ini and saw that some cards had a line that read BDA_SUPPORTS_DISEQC= with a 4 or a 3 listed for the value. I tried adding this line to the digiwave 103g section and setting it to 4 and to 3 and also even to 2, and the same thing occurs. I know that diseqc is not covered in the BDA spec and has to be implemented separately, so is diseqc implemented for this card? Has anyone else gotten this to work, and if so, how did you do it? Is there any info I can provide or post (logs or diags) that would help to get it implemented or find a fix?
I appreciate any help anyone can provide on this. From my initial looking, GBPVR looks like a great prog, I just need to get the initial stuff ironed out
I was watching a live show, hit the Record button, then changed the record type so that I could select a time length. I set the length to an amount that wouldn't cause a conflict with a recurring recording. The show began to record, but the only indication I had of this was to go to Recordings->Pending, the show was listed as the top with Recording as the status. The TV Guide didn't color the show name red for the manual recording.
When I go into Recordings, I then cursor right to select a show. I then cursor left to go back to the menu items. You can see the text ("Last Recording:" and the date/time) changes its Y location between the 2 choices.
I have a recurring recording from 11-11:30pm. I was watching a live show at 10:10pm and hit the Record button. A dialog popped up asking for recording end condition, I changed it to Record for Length (I forget exact wording), and it allowed me to set a recording length in increments of 15 minutes. I chose 60 minutes, hit OK, and then PVRX2 seemed to hang. After about a minute, I hit channel up and down a few times and it changed the channel. There was no indication in Recordings that the show was being recorded.
It should have recognized a conflict, just as the other recording options told me that it would cause a conflict.
I have a question I have just finished building my computer to run GBPVR. I have 2 Duel tuner cards im trying to configure GBPVR to record NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX 24 hours a day save the files for 48 hours then overwrite them. Does anyone have any ideas on what is the easiest way to configure GBPVR to do this.
Introduction from wiki:
This skin is based on a modified version of “tieke’s - Flat Blue High Visibility” skin & lots of “sub’s - Blue” skin with retro style task-images (some from Flat Blue HV & some that I have collected/built myself) & generally larger fonts (even larger than Flat Blue HV) to aid visibility. It is primarily a small-television MVP skin. It was designed so that the MVP display on a 29″ TV could be seen across the room with my old tired eyes & also that the wife could read the Main menu & Recordings menu on her 14″ TV.
I have finally found the time to get the update for v1.2.9 uploaded onto the wiki
*Support for PVRX2 v1.2.9
*Updated Main Menu
*Updated Music Library
*Updated Net Radio
*Updated OSD
*Updated Screen Saver
*Included Panels folder & skin
*Included Settings Folder, skin & TaskImage
*Fixed grammatical error in “SwitchToRecording Popup”
*Updated Search Guide Selected Inactive display
*Updated System TaskImage
2008–01-? : v0.2.7
*Re-wrote most of the skin to tidy it up & make it easier for me to update.
*Modified all three TV Guides to display better
*Fixed font size bug in default (4 row) TV Guide I introduced in v0.2.6
*Added shadow to a number of fonts through out the skin

*Changed Picture Library TaskImage
I put this plugin together for LCDSmartie specifically to read the RSS feeds generated by EWA. Basically it reads the RSS feed and sorts the items by PubDate. This way when selecting items, 1 is the next item to be recorded (for pending at least), 2 is the one after that etc.
I found this a bit easier than calling GBPVRcli to create a bunch of files in various pre/para/post batch files and reading those into LCDSmartie.
At the moment I'll say its in "Beta", mostly because I've only been running it for 2 days now. But I haven't seen any problems yet.
Quote:DESCRIPTION
===========
An LCDSmartie plugin used to read the RSS feeds generated by the GBPVR Enhanced Web Admin (EWA) to provide information on recordings.
INSTALLATION
============
Copy the LCDSmartieGBPVRRSS.dll in LCDSmartie plugin folder.
You will also need to copy RSS.dll and RSS.NET.dll from the \gbpvr\web\bin folder to your LCDSmartie plugin folder.
Be sure that .NET Framework 2.0 is installed on your system (you need this for GBPVR so it shouldn't be a problem)
where
[Function Number] is the function number you wish to call (1-20)
[RSS URL] is the GBPVR RSS feed you wish to use (see http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utili...bAdmin#rss for valid values)
[Item Number] is the item number from the feed you wish to display (sorted by pubDate)
for example:
$dll(LCDSmartieGBPVRRSS.dll,1,http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/public/rss.aspx?filter=in-progress,1)
returns the first item in the in-progress feed (see below for what each function actually returns)
$dll(LCDSmartieGBPVRRSS.dll,1,http://localhost:7647/gbpvr/public/rss.aspx?filter=pending,2)
returns the second item in the pending feed (see below for what each function actually returns)

NOTES:
======
If there is no data for a particular feed or particular item "No Data" will be returned.
This is helpful for turning screens on or off (for instance if there is nothing in-progress, you can skip those screens)
Any drawback to just using a cheapo AGP card - say a NVidia 5200 with a modern miniATX motherboard? Given the shortage of PCI/PCIe slots I want to maximise their usage.
I need SVideo/Component out so most MB onboard videos aren't an option.
