Can't playback recorded video via gbpvr
Posted by: gkovacsp - 2008-01-10, 09:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

GBPVR was running well for a long time, when one day to another it started to do act up:

It doesn't play back the recorded videos. Sometimes the screen stays totally black, I've to kill the pvrx2 process to get out, sometimes it shows the 1st frame of the movie.

If I try to play the MPG files with Media Player, then it is not a problem.

Sometimes it helps, if I do a repair install, or just open the configuration and adjust some things, but couldn't found the ultimate thing, what makes the trick to get them played again.

I'm puzzled.

I did not install anything, this started after a dinner...

It started on 1.0.16, now I'm on 1.1.5, but the problem is still here...

Thanks in advance for your help.

  Minor Question
Posted by: Satori - 2008-01-10, 09:09 PM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - Replies (2)

What should "-security XX" be in the config file if I am running XP and 1.1.5? I searched but can't find it. also, when should it be added to the config? I mean are there issues it is meant to fix?

  remapping keyboard/mouse action?
Posted by: sun4384 - 2008-01-10, 06:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Is it possible to remap keyboard/mouse commands? (especially for GBPVR.exe, not PVRX2.exe). For example, change volume with up/down keys, and change channels with left/right keys?

Another question is if it's possible to tweak the skin (again for GBPVR.exe, not PVRX2.exe) to utilize higher resolution than 720x480. I tried to change the screen size and positions in the skin definition file, but it only pushed the original UI to the upper left corner of the screen.

  need to add more disks?

This is an interesting article about this guy that build a disk array out of SATA drives on the cheap using an add-on card.

  TV Series like plugin?
Posted by: tvalladon - 2008-01-10, 06:24 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Media Portal has a great plugin for those of us who store lots of episodes from tv series on our computers, http://www.team-mediaportal.com/files/Do...iesplugin/

Is there a system like this for gbpvr as I would hate to have to go back to browsing a file system looking for episode 2 of season 4 of the original Dr Who tv series (not the 2005 version).

The plugin has a nice interface and downloads episode information from thetvdb.com for each show.

  Flash files
Posted by: treads6464 - 2008-01-10, 06:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

What is the best way to go about getting GB-pvr to be able to play flash files. I love having the ability to play all file types with different codecs but i am not sure how to do this with Flash animations. If anyone has ideas please help. Thanks in advance. This community is awesome!

  Simple archiver problem
Posted by: peterh - 2008-01-10, 06:22 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (12)

When I run this it moves the program fine, buit if I then go back into video library and try to move another it gives me an Object reference not set to an Instance error and the screen goes white with a full size red X across it. I wonder if I have installed it correctly.....having added the profile in config.xml, should the dirs statement be there also? I wasn't sure so added the directories to path.

I also have to restart IR.exe

  Multiple sound card configuration
Posted by: rroor - 2008-01-10, 04:41 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I would like to use two different sound cards to play TV and video files on the first card (connected to the TV);audio files and net radio on the second one (output is directly connected to my Hifi system). Is there any solution?
What is the effect of the UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio and UseWindowsMediaPlayerForNetRadio in the config.xml file?
Thank you for your help

  HD on ATI X1300 Pro
Posted by: tjb - 2008-01-10, 04:04 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I currently have a Nvidia 6600 AGP card using the Purevideo decoders which provides good playback with FSE and Overlay modes, but not with VMR9 Custom. In VMR9 I get missed frames resulting in jerky playback when displaying in 1920 x 1080 resolution. Lower resolutions work okay (13xx x 768), however this is not possible with my current TV.

Can anyone tell me if they are having any success at higher resolutions with the ATI X1300 Pro card, and if so, what decoders they are using? It turns out I can pick up one of these cards pretty cheap from a friend.

Help with ASP.NET/SQL and MS Access
Posted by: McBainUK - 2008-01-10, 01:38 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

I have a MS access query that displays a popup box allowing you to enter a value for one of the columns to be searched for (using [WeekNumber] syntax).

How would I supply this programmitacally using ASP.NET/SQL? Or is there a better way of supplying params to lower level queries.

If any of you could help me with this it would be very much appreciated. I can upload the database file somewhere if you think it would be needed.

Thanks Smile
