I am using PVRX2 1.1.5 and ATI Remote Wonder remote control. For the ATI Remote Wonder software I am creating a new plugin because the old plugin used FindWindow(NULL, "GB-PVR"). So now I have the ATI Remote plugin finding PVRX2 but I think for the PostMessage I am using the wrong Msg value: 0x00008003 (32771 in decimal).
Does PVRX2 respond to Msg 0x0008003 or is it using a new value? Are the wParam the same as GB-PVR?
The Fonts in my PVRX2 look terrible - too thick and all blocky. Also I get a lot of vertical bars and garbled display in the general display. Have tried with VRM9 and EVR. GBPVR looks fine.
However this is just my test PC with a onboard Intel video chip - could this be the problem? My real PC will have an NVIDA 5200
First - this post is directed pretty much solely to anime collectors / viewers. What follows will be of no interest to others. Move along, nothing to see here. (Heck, it may not even be of interest to the former group either!)
While aware from the beginning that I may be writing a plugin for a target audience of one -- myself -- I went ahead and did it anyway.
Despite that, as I finish going through my list of things that I want to fix / change with the first version, I'm to the point where I would like to double the users all the way up to two.
Which is to say, I'm looking for a guinea pig, er, volunteer, to test a new PVRX2 plugin.
PVRX2 1.1.5 (well, earlier version is OK if you don't mind dumping stuff into plugins/common that are not really common).
Good computer skills to get the files to the right places (I'm not creating an installer at this point)
Patience with software that has bugs.
The anidb.net account is a requirement, as the plugin integrates heavily with the anidb database to retrieve anime, episode, and file details.
At this point I'm really only looking for one or two people. While I believe my todo list has the outstanding issues covered, I also appreciate that I'm far too close to the code to be a good tester, and would like some more eyes on it. A more general Beta will follow, along with wikification after that.
Assuming, of course, anybody want to goof around with this thing in the first place! And if not, that's fine too.
I'll put up some screen shots on simple web page within a couple hours, I don't want to clutter up the forums. Edit: Screenshots here, HTML circa 1992.
Again, this is directed towards anime viewers only. The plugin is not suitable for general media.

While here -- some thank-you notes.
First to sub for building and supporting gbpvr in the first place. Really wish he would post on the boards more though, I'm almost caught up to his post count.
Second, to JavaWiz, whose WizUI library tools not only made the plugin possible, but also provided a catalyst for starting writing the plugin in the first place.
Third, to the developers of anidb.net for making the fruits of their work available for creative uses such as this.
I have most of my channels available in HD. For example, channels 6 and 12 are on clear QAM channel 94. They are also on channel 125, along with many others, as SD.
Sometimes an HD QAM channel will drop out for a few hours. If I have the EPG set up to tune the HD channel, nothing shows.
Is there a way I can point channel 6 to both the HD and the SD channel, with a preference for HD? If not, then can I link both the HD and SD to the same EPG channel, so either shows the current show information?
I suppose I could make a "second" tuner pointed tot he same tuner, and populate it with the SD channels. Would that work? Of course, then I would have to make a thirs, HD duplicate, thrid in line, so both live and recorded will prefer the HD version.
Is that the best way? Or can I get second listing in EPG so both show up and I manually select which to watch (does not help when HD dies during a recording).
I don't see the language.xml file in PVRX2. I used it with GBPVR in the past to use words in the menu that may have a higher WAF. Is it used in the new version, and what is the usual syntax?
With all the things you can do while watching a video (changing the aspect ratio, turning comskip on/off, mini-guide, thumbnail creation, subtitles... and probably a lot of other things that I haven't discovered yet ), it would be nice if they could be shown in a menu over the video. Maybe it could just be a banner across the top of the screen, like the time-line, where you can select things and then get some drop down options (so it doesn't take up a lot of space). Maybe such a menu could be reached by pressing "OK" on the remote? (center of the navigation buttons, easy to find and remember ).
I like the short-cuts, but for lesser used functions (and new users) they can be pretty tricky to remember It could also be a neat way to get to plugins that appear over the video, though I don't know if they still exist.
Also, I guess I have some kind of fascination of very simple remotes, like the Apple remote and the B&O Beo1, so it would be pretty cool to be able to control most of GBpvr with something like that in the future
I'm trying to setup a 2nd MVP in my house using wireless and I'm having connection issues. I've currently got an MVP that I'm using upstairs in my house that connects wirelessly the same way I'm trying to set this one up. To extend the range of my wireless network I put an access point downstairs that talks to my wireless router upstairs. The wireless is 802.11g. I have a wireless gaming adaptor plugged into my MVP that talks to the access point. The MVP gets stuck trying to locate the MPVServer. I've been able to see it connect a handfull of times and have even played a video on it two or three times. Is there some sort of timeout that anyone knows of that I could extend in GBPVR or the MVP that may help this issue? I'm wondering if the server is just not responding quickly enough. I've hooked up my laptop to the gaming adaptor and am able to get to the internet and even VNC into the PVR server, so I know I"m still getting connected to the network through this setup.
Hi, I'm running the latest GBPVR and I can't seem to get the teletext feature to work, I've enabled it in the MISC tab, but when view livetv - I pressed CTRL-Y and nothin happens? Secondly, I forgotten how 2 enabled the subtitle feature on the analogue TV channels, would someone pls remind me how 2 do this, thx you kindly.
upgraded to 1.1.5
