  DVD not working with EVR
Posted by: OscarL - 2007-11-13, 09:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

After getting EVR to work on XP using the new evr.dll as suggested in another thread I have now problem with playing DVD when using the EVR rendererer.
I get the following error message

2007-11-13 21:34:50.875 VERBOSE [1] System.NullReferenceException: Objektreferensen har inte angetts till en instans av ett objekt.
vid DirectShowPlayerBase.setPlaybackRate(DirectShowPlayerBase* , Double rate)
vid NativeUtilities.MediaHelper.setPlaybackRate(Double rate)

Where the swedish sentence can be translated to something like " Object reference has not been supplied for an instance of an object" Does that make sense? Wink (and "vid" means "at")

Logs are attached both when using evr, not working and -FSE - working.

/Oscar

pvrx2 crashes after upgrade to 1.1.5
Posted by: djmuk - 2007-11-13, 08:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

As the title says really...

just upgraded from 1.0.15 (?) to 1.1.5 & now I can't start pvrx2 - it crashes
immediately on startup with an error, should pvrx2 have been upgraded? I still seem to have the old version....

error message:

  cpu temperature
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2007-11-13, 07:48 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

:oHi All,

I've been pretty unlucky with my setups recently and I think it's because I've been over heating my system. I used to hide the PC in a cabinet with little ventilation and the CPU temps would go up to 45 deg C idle and 55+ under load.

Now I've got an NSK2480 on a shelf with the front open and I'm operating at about 37 deg C going up to 45 deg C under load.

What are your temperatures?

All my other temperature readings - HDD, PSU, MOBO aare < 40 degC now...before they used to be all above 40 deg C. I'm using speedfan to control the fan speeds and hence noise.

EDIT: geez, I do know how to spell...it should be "temperature" anyone know how to fix the title?

EDIT2: it seems i can't count either...there should have been a 45-50 deg C so make that >50 deg C to be > 45 deg C...:o

Cannot see Nova T 500 on capture card list
Posted by: mykeparker - 2007-11-13, 07:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I have been using a PVR-250 for ages and today I bought a Hauppauge Nova T 500 PCI card. It has installed correctly on the computer and wintv sees it fine. But GBPVR cannot see the card. Even when I have the 'show only devices on this machine' unticked in the config utility it still isnt in the list of devices. (I would have thought this showed all devices?)

Any ideas? I have installed the latest version of GBPVR aswell and no luck.

p.s. I have looked around on the forum and a few other people mainly a while ago seem to have had the problem but no solutions I could find. Any help appreciated.

  Install problems 1.1.5
Posted by: Marbles - 2007-11-13, 07:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi - I'm having trouble even getting 1.1.5 to install. Previous version have installed and worked without a hitch.

This time, when I try to install (in fact every time I've tried!) I get the following error towards the very end of the install:

Of course, as you do with these error messages, I just 'ignore' Wink And then the software (and all the tools, configs etc) just don't run and simply error before getting anywhere.

Any ideas?

Running XP Home with .net 3 (also previously tried with .net 2 with the same result).

I don't know what other information you need to help identify a solution, please just ask and I will provide anything you need.

Thanks,

Trevor

1.1.5 Net Radio - no sound
Posted by: dslowik - 2007-11-13, 06:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

This is my first time using the Net Radio and I've probably have something configured wrong. I can select a radio station and my iMon VFD plugin shows the artist/title on the VFD, but no audio comes out. I tried the normal music library and did hear audio from my mp3's.

I attached the log from the time that I selected the station. It does show an error, but I don't know what to do about it.

Live TV Looses Sync w/Audio intermitantly
Posted by: thetmaxx - 2007-11-13, 06:21 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

While Watching Live TV Sometimes the video and audio loose sync. They seem to come back after a while and then loose sync again a little later. I wonder if it has anythign to do with timeshift mode. I don't know how to get out of timeshift mode properly? Like once I'm caught up to Live TV how do I stop the recording process?

My card is the HVR-1600
I'm using the GBPVR.EXE... X2 won't run on my setup.(If you know why please share)
1ghz P3
512 RAM
New WD 80Gb HDD

Thanks... I've just got so much to learn about this stuff.

  minumum hardware?
Posted by: fluffykeith - 2007-11-13, 05:40 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (11)

I see lots of posts for "is this HW ok" but none that give the minimum.

So whats the minimum?
in these situations:
a non-server - HW MPEG encoding.
a server - HW MPEG encoding.
a client -

( I was looking at using a client nano-itx or pico-itx but they use CPU's running at quite slow speed, typically 1 - 1.5 GHz)

cheers

Install of 1.1.5 crashes on config run
Posted by: pastro - 2007-11-13, 04:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

This has happen almost everytime I upgrade. Once it finishes it tries to run the config program and it crashes. Usually I have to reload all the settings (not a big deal) but thought I would post the crashed config log in case that could help going forward.

  Video/Movie editor
Posted by: Smugkiggeren - 2007-11-13, 02:44 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (11)

Hello out there!
I would like to know, if there is a good cheap(or free) editor to cut, add and so on the recordings made by gbpvr. The design must be easy to go to when you edit the clips. A kind of Video"Audacity".
I use Nero at the moment, but im not satsfied with the quality of their codecs. I would rather use ATI, as it gives a lot better quality imo.
