"Buffer" recordings and PostProcessing / transcoding
Posted by: sgilani - 2007-11-13, 04:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi all,

This is something that has bugged me for a long time, and maybe it's something I've just completely overlooked in all this time....

but do "buffer" recordings (meaning programs that were recorded on-the-fly during timeshift mode) get thrown in the queue for transcoding? Or, do they perhaps invoke PostProcessing.bat with the filename as a parameter?

Practically all my recordings are done that way (not pre-planned from the Guide, just hit record when I'm watching something I want to keep) and it's a pain to manually hunt them down and throw them to ffmpeg or mencoder. I know I could whip up a little batch script to do it, but does/can GB-PVR simply consider these recordings for PostProcessing.bat? That would make everything simple! Wink

So maybe this has become a Wishlist thread rather than Support... but I'm hoping I'm just missing something here and it's possible already.

  Disk Space Reading
Posted by: Zeus - 2007-11-13, 02:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

After doing an upgrade to 1.1.5 I noticed my disk space is reading 0 GB free. When I verified with Explorer I have plenty of space. This won't prevent the system from recording will it?

Logs and images attached.

Thanks,
Jeff

  "Find All" function in v1.1.5

When I press "find all" in the tv guide of version 1.1.5 of PVRX2 nothing happens, I found something in the logs that might help. I'm sure it worked in the last version.

  Inconsistent scrolling in UI
Posted by: ACTCMS - 2007-11-13, 01:40 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (20)

Guide2 version making great progress... EWA is without a doubt, the best way to handle recordings Smile

A couple of observations after first look though...

In IE 7 working in a sized window (big enough for 4 channels in TV Guide)
TV Guide - scroll bar on right
Manage Recordings - scroll bar on right
Episode Search - no scroll bar - bottom of screens stops at first item in 'Channel:' list
Library (Video/Music/Photo) - scroll bar on left

Also, selecting Config tab from Library2.aspx tries to find Admin2.aspx.

I have been having a problem with the MVP resetting/rebooting while watching a program. This happens with both of them ( have 2 on the network). It has happened over the past couple of releases. No rhyme or reason.

I have attached the log files. it is 8:17pm here now, and it reset within the last 10 min

Thanks in advance

Enhanced Web Admin (EWA) Build 67 Released
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2007-11-13, 12:51 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Build 67 of EWA has been released. You can download it here or on the wiki.

This upgrade requires GBPVR 99.12 or higher to work.

Post any issues in the EWA Support Sub-Forum.

Date: 2007-11-12 Build Number: 67 Changes:

  • UncleJohnsBand: Correct issue when deleting a recording in the CSS interface.
  • UncleJohnsBand: Fixed bug when opting to use channel icons in the Guide display and the EPG data contained a channel with a name that had more than 1 "/" contained in it.
  • UncleJohnsBand: CSS changes moved to strict standards mode.
    • This had to be done to make future changes easier.
    • This means that the CSS sceens will be fully supported by IE 7 and FireFox. Some screens will not work correctly in IE6. Sorry.

  • UncleJohnsBand: Added new CSS based Statistics page.
  • UncleJohnsBand: Added new CSS based Search and Search results page.
    • To access the CSS based Statistics page use Guide2.aspx rather than Guide.aspx. Then select the Statistics link located in the footer.
    • To access the CSS based Search and Search Results pages use Guide2.aspx rather than Guide.aspx. Then select the Search tab.
    • CSS Note: Streamer settings need to be set via a normal theme. I need to build a new stream settings interface for the CSS based screens.
    • CSS Note: Theme colors are for contrast only.....this is not an actual theme color scheme.
    • CSS Note: Please post feedback/bugs in the EWA CSS Guide sticky thread located in the EWA support forum.
    • CSS Note: Slowly but surely I am getting through these.....hopefully not too much longer until all screens are complete and I will create a real theme for the CSS interface.

  Application freeze
Posted by: bjt3 - 2007-11-13, 12:36 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

I've been having an issue with both flavors of the UI: gbpvr and pvrx2. What happens is simple: it freezes. The why and the fix, well,... there's a reason for every post, right ?

The application will freeze, hard. It takes Task Manager to get rid of it, and if I was watching live tv, I need to restart the recording service. It happens quite frequently, with the freeze-up happening as quickly as 60 seconds after launch and as long as almost an hour. I've tried a number of things including updating video drivers, reading many of the posts here about freezing, examining logs, watching operation in general (eg, process explorer) and so forth. So far, nothing stands out as the potential issue. When frozen, the app is not using CPU time. No other video app on this system behaves this way. For instance, I've been watching the recorded media with VLC as it's just too annoying to watch it with pvrx2 with the freeze-ups. I've tried a few different version of gbpvr, including the latest, with no change in behavior.

I'm looking for possibilities, things to try, general advice... any suggestions ? Thanks !

  Internet Radio streaming...
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2007-11-13, 12:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Excuse my ignorance if this is a basic question, but....

Is there any way to grab an internet radio stream and direct it thru gbpvr. In particular, I'd like to stream a radio station I can get from my browser (so I can probably figure out the streaming URL), and stream to my MVP.
