  been away for 6 months
Posted by: fuzzweed - 2007-09-20, 07:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

hi again guys - I'm just after a quick update cos I've been off the forums (and away from the PC) for a whole 6 months, so hopefully you'll indulge me with the answers to some probably-already-answered-questions before I upgrade....

the latest release sounds great, but I noticed a comment from sub about needing increased horsepower to run the front end. My main machine shouldnt have a problem, but is my P3 client likely to struggle?

If the above is going to be a problem, will a client run on 99.13 (the last release before I went AWOL) and still take all the info it needs from a server running the latest release?

Is a low CPU power release being maintained?

It sounds like the latest versions have had some major work done on them (all hail Sub!) so is there any thing else I might need to know (other than that held in the sticky and release notes) before I go for the 'big' upgrade?

thanks for indulging my lazyness.....

  Deleted folder.jpg's
Posted by: WerewolfTA - 2007-09-20, 07:41 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I was doing some housekeeping on my pvr box a couple of weeks ago. In the process, I deleted some of the folder.jpg's. I figured whatever had originally downloaded them would redownload them. I was wrong. So now, the VA panel just displays the channel icons for those shows. Brand new shows get their folder.jpg's downloaded, but the existing folders don't.

Big oops on my part. First off, I'm not sure which plugin is responsible for those nifty little pics. Can somebody tell me which plugin does the job (I'm assuming it's something that came with old dog's Plain Jane) and how to tell that plugin to repull those jpg's down again? Alternately, can anybody point me to a spot on the Net to manually get those? Thanks.

  Editing Channel Order?
Posted by: LAGuy - 2007-09-20, 07:27 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi Everyone,
Is there a way to edit the way the channels are listed in the Guide? When I re-installed GBPVR awhile back, I imported all my recordings first and then updated the guide. So now all the channels that were attached to the recordings are always listed first. Thanks for the info.

EPG help - xml file needed
Posted by: VORTECH - 2007-09-20, 07:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hey all,

I've been troubleshooting an issue with various EPG "scapers" and would like to see if anyone has a "working" xml file they wouldn't mind sending me so I can rule out at issues with my GBPVR configuration and focus on my XLM settings. Even a working area code and cable service would be helpful.

I seem to be able to generate a "good" xml file, at least when viewing it via Notepad, but after configuring my capture device to use xml, and pointing it to the egp file, flushing the EPG, and re importing the EPG, I only have channels listed as 1-17, and nothing under the TV Listing of GBPVR.

Any help would be appreciated.....

  Channel surfing while watching TV
Posted by: karthiktn - 2007-09-20, 06:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Is there a way to display whats coming up next on a particular channel without having to go back to the "TV guide" prompt? I see that I can use the up/down nav buttons to find out whats coming up on other channels, but the left/right buttons only seem to adjust volume. Is there any way I can configure this in my irremote.ini? BTW I am using a HVR-1600 with a Hauppauge 45 button remote.

  Problems with PVRX2 -fse
Posted by: patrickaburrows - 2007-09-20, 06:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Sub, et al.

I am trying to use PVRX2 (version 1.0.16) with the -fse option and all I get is garbage when I try to watch live TV. I am using nVideo Pure Video Decoder and PVR150 capture card. I am attempting to use the -fse option becuase I have quite a bit of motion blur, ghosting and horizontal and vertical tearing in all other modes. I have tried all of the de-interlacing settings both in GBPVR config, the nVidia control panel, and the Pure Video config panel with no luck. So, I am very anxious to try the -fse option.

BTW, is there any documentation about what the -fse parameter does?

Anyone else that might be having this problem or resolved it, I would appreciate any feedback you can give me.

Thanks,

- Patrick

  Wacky TV guide
Posted by: hzwaal - 2007-09-20, 06:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Since switching over to a new XMLTV grabber, the TV guide of PVRX2 is completely screwed up:

* When I go to it from the main menu, I first get an empty screen with tags such as @duration on it.
* After a few seconds I get the TV guide, but certain channels are completely empty (no text or boxes at all). I checked the tvguide.xml and the missing channels are in there.
* When I press ESC to got to the main menu, the TV guide fades almost away but stays there. I do not get back to the main menu.
* When I press ESC again, I get the normal TV guide briefly and then it fades away again.

The strange thing is that GBPVR works just fine (as always).

I tried completely reinstalling GBPVR, but that didn't help either. I did reuse the config and db3 files, though.

I have searched through the logs, but can't find anything unusual. I have attached the following files (in logs.zip). Hopefully, one of you sees something wrong in it.

* pvrx2.exe-1.log : the log of updating the EPG through the tray icon
* pvrx2.exe.log : the log of the wacky TV guide session
* pvrx2.exe-native.log : the native log of the wacky TV guide session
* config.xml : my configuration
* tvguide.xml : the EPG input

  Feature Request; searching and priority.
Posted by: lstepnio - 2007-09-20, 05:22 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (3)

Would it be possible to add time-frame as search criteria. You could search for example for all "New" Genre's between 8:00pm and 11:00pm on the primetime channels. This would give you a clean result of any first-air primetime shows that you could schedule.

Is it possible to support recording priority ordering for "Reoccurring" recordings. This is supported in the GUI by using FF/FR to lower and raise the priority on these recordings. This is very handy for conflict resolution. There currently isn't way to handle this remote and any resolved conflicts return after the next EPG update.

  IMDB Recommendations - Possible?
Posted by: rbelisle - 2007-09-20, 05:21 PM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (1)

Since searchwiz has the IMDB lookup, would it be possible to add an additional option to search and retrieve all of the 'Recommended' items when looking at the IMDB info for a show?

I am looking for something that would work like the Tivo 'you might also enjoy' time of lookup.

For example, if I lookup 'House' on Searchwiz, a new button 'Search recommended' would bring back the list from IMDB of 'Shark, All Saints, Everybody loves raymond' and run a search to return all instances of these recommended programs.

The other thing that would be nice is to select something from your recordings list and do the same thing...

Big Grin

I 'used' to be a programmer but can't help with any of this stuff anymore... but I would always beta!

  PVR-150 and GBPVR
Posted by: Eric1987 - 2007-09-20, 05:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Cannot get it working with my hauppage 150MCE. I am on WinX64 too. I had Chris TV working on X32 but I cannot get that working either! I have mutiplexor codecs I have all that stuff. I basically have the same problem as

http://forums.techguy.org/hardware/59052...g-pvr.html

Except when I put the deinterlacing to none I dont get a picture I just get the normal speeds. If I set it to something else I get the picture just lag.
