Auto login through a mac address?
Posted by: Grenlen - 2007-09-16, 07:56 PM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (4)

I'm usually logging into EWA with my laptop on the road.. and since my ip address changes everywhere but my mac address shouldn't.

Is there a way to set up the autologin "IP range" to accept mac address as well?

and from a a post I read back on a 2006 thread.
on the subject of guests account log in. could it be viable to have "Guest account" = Guest.aspx and that page only has access/links to the mange.aspx (oir guestmanage.aspx) program without coding to allow for a delete button????

Thanks Gren

  Error: Failure playing back file
Posted by: sp4rky - 2007-09-16, 07:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (47)

Hi Guys,

Firstly I should say the search forum button seems to be having problems. I had a scout through the pages but couldn't find an answer to this. Apologies if it's blindingly obvious...

I have just installed GB-PVR and 2x Hauppauge HVR-1100 cards. I realise that only the digital part of these cards will work and that's fine.

I am running latest version (1.0.16) of GB-PVR and when I head into Live TV I get an "Error: Failure playing back file" message (this is from the old interface, the new v2 interface doesn't show a message - I just get a black screen).

I have been through the config and imported a few channels (just the BBC ones to start with).

Here is a bit of my log:

  Deleted Recurring Programs come back.
Posted by: runtmms - 2007-09-16, 07:22 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello,

I'm having a very minor issue - and want to know if this is how it is supposed to work. I have several recurring recordings set up. There are a lot of shows I don't want recorded that get schedules - either I've seen them, or already have them recorded. (And the 'don't record duplicates' isn't picking up episodes since switching to schedules direct - but that's discussed in a different thread.)

Occasionally I'll look ahead at my pending recordings a day or two, and go through and cancel all the recordings I don't want. When the EPG updates, those recordings come back. I am doing a complete EPG reload. (On a side note, can someone give me the pros/cons of doing the complete reload?) It's a minor annoyance, but it seems I can't cancel a recording unless it is the day of the recording. I've upgraded a lot recently, but I believe this started when I went to 1.0.16.

Thanks, Merlynn

  Turn off antialiasing stops skipping?
Posted by: Deusxmachina - 2007-09-16, 07:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Surprisingly, "antialiasing" only brings up five or so threads.

Overlay is an angel, and VMR9 is the spawn of satan. Having said that... Smile

I had CCCP codec pack and Powerdvd 7 on my computer and that's it for codecs. The only way I got Live TV to work is using MPV codec for video, although the Cyberlink codecs worked for audio. I was getting a skip, and then did the quartz.dll mod and maybe a couple other things that didn't help.

I then opened up PowerDVD and turned off the "smart deinterlacing" box that was checked. I would have thought that wouldn't make any difference since I wasn't actually using Powerdvd to watch video, but instantly the skip went mostly away. With deinterlacing set to auto on my ATI 2400, I guess it was double-deinterlacing and something didn't like that -- although I wasn't using the Cyberlink video codec.

I left live TV on overnight and woke up to GBPVR locked and the computer's memory maxed out, like it's a memory leak. I had also noticed the longer Live TV was on the more the skip came back and would get worse. Rebooted the computer and the skip was still there again even though PowerDVD was now uninstalled (using MPV for video and FFDshow for audio).

All that leads up to this: do people have all the video card control preferences set to off or set to "controlled by application"? I had/have ATI deinterlacing on, 3:2 pulldown detect on, mipmap on high, etc. I was getting the bad skip again today, and I turned off antialiasing in the Catalyst control panel, and the skipping went away immediately without rebooting and it's been fine for the last hour. I was hearing my hard drive "skip" a bit with the video before, too, whereas now it's silent.

I have football on right now and if having AA off made the picture worse I certainly don't notice it. The picture still has a couple annoyances, motion is a little blurry (probably a deinterlacing setting problem), and every 30 or so seconds a "wrinkle" or "fold" makes it's way down the screen (wrong refresh rate?), but I can live with that for now.

Having the card's antialiasing off hopefully fixing the skipping threw me for a loop, so if nothing else I wanted to make other people aware of the possible fix.

I am running on a Windows 2000 SP4 host with DirectX 9.0c and Net Runtime 2.0 with a hotfix I found in another thread. I have a WinTV PVR 150 that I'd like to use. I've tried 1.0.16 and 1.0.08.

Duplicate Recordings of Previously Recorded Shows
Posted by: Babbage - 2007-09-16, 04:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi Guys,

I just recently switched my EPG data over to SchedulesDirect today, and I noticed that a lot of the programs I have previously recorded are wanting to be re-recorded again. I DO have the "Don't record duplicates option" checked, and I have Cleared the EPG and Updated the EPG numerous times.

After scouring around in the logs and through the forum for a little while, I decided to do some peaking in gbpvr.db3 file to see if I could noticed anything out of the ordinary... which I did.

Example: Smallville - Justice
While looking through the "PROGRAMME" table of the database, I sorted all my programs by subtitle. An episode of Smallville called Justice was one of the programs that wanted to be re-recorded, so I searched for that one first. When I found it, I discovered the problem right away: the unique_identifier of the previous recording was not the same as the unique_identifier that SD had given me. Here is what I found:

Previous Recording: EP4621440131
SD Recording: EP004621440131

You can see that the numbers are the same, but SD had perpended the numbers with a 00 where my previous recording did not have that. I used to have Zap2it, so that is where my EPG data came from.

So, to the question. Can anyone think of an easy way of fixing this, save from going through the database manually and updating each individual problem?

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I when I changed the unique_identifier in the database, it got rid of the pending episode recording (after reloading my EPG data).

Dear Sub,

I'm missing a complete EPG channel on my German DVB-T. Other channels in the bouquet parse fine, but hr-fernsehen is simply missing in the database.

I've attached the logs here, you will find a private message on where to download some TS files.
