  Ripping CARS DVD
Posted by: onestar - 2007-09-16, 02:50 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (11)

Hi All, I need some help,

Basically I have (a legit) Cars DVD. And as you can imagine its getting a little worn, so I thought I would get it on the MVP.

Last time I tried 2 things happened. The audio was out of sync by about 3secs and the file had to be made into 3 mpgs.

Okay determined as I am I decided to try again and again and again to solve.
Finally using dvdcrypt to rip the files per cell, using besweet to transcode, and mplex to mux, I have 34 mpgs files that are all in sync. Final step join them using tmpgenc, mpeg tools, the result an almost good cars.mpg, except around 40mins into the DVD the audio starts to go off sync. By the end I think its about 1 sec off.

Surely someone must have ripped this successfully ?
I should add the VOB is fine, and as a final resort I can burn that on a DVD as a backup. But I would really like to put this on the MVP.

I guess there are not many people needing to change the ac3 to mp2 sound.

Any ideas guys. The 34 mpgs are all fine, now I need to join them successfully. (I haven't tried a video editor yet)

I just installed latest version from main page and also patched with gbpvrbackendcommon.dll. I configured well in settings but not able to update my listing. i attached screenshot can some one tell me how to fix this problem?
If you see in my screenshot it still says it is trying to update from zap2it.com website? is it bug or something else?

  shortcuts (pictures/videos) from live tv
Posted by: danielpugh - 2007-09-16, 01:07 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

hi there,

everything working really well with 1 exception
using 1.0.16 & pvrx2, i can only switch to pictures, music, recordings when on the home page. it doesnt work from watching tv or if i press the home button (ie tv running on home page).

is this by design?

separately..
on the guide page i can see all channels and description on separate pane. is there a key (e.g. right arrow) to see the next program on ideally this would be left/right arrows toggling between now/next

MCE Remote and Vista Home Problems
Posted by: BamBam - 2007-09-16, 12:47 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Searched the forms for this one but can’t find anything.

I have Vista Home Premium set up with a Hauppauge HVR-1800 Card. I am trying to use the MCE remote that came with the Hauppauge card and have it configured as MCE Remote in config.

Some of the buttons work and some don’t. The not working part is that Windows MCE keeps popping up. Example; When I press the little button that looks like it should be a listing, the GBPVR TV Guide displays. A few seconds later, the WinMCE Guide displays. Then I have to exit WinMCE to get back to GBPVR. There are more buttons that result in this type of behavior but this gives a good idea. It appears that WinMCE is running and still executing the keys that are pressed as well as GBPVR. I thought that the easy way out of this would be to disable WinMCE but from what I found on the web, there really isn’t a way to do it with the Home edition. (I’m sure there is but I just havn’t found it).

Before I start down the remapping inputs route(s) I figured I’d see if anyone else had this problem and how they took care of it.

  at a loss here
Posted by: Smoker - 2007-09-16, 11:47 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Greetings Folks

I am at a loss here to determine what I should or need to do next.

I have been using gbpvr 99.12 with up to 2 tuners connected through s-video to a sdtv.

Well the sdtv died and so I bought a 50" plasma. Great picture but now I am not sure how to get gbpvr back into my life, I miss it Sad

First I should say I'm with comcast.
I've requested digital service and need to pick up the box Monday. I can also pick up a HD converter box as well (not sure if I need this just yet).

I have the pvr150-mce and qvr-1600 (qam version) in my htpc along with a 6800GS video card (has s-video and component outputs).

The tv has ota cable (antenna), cabble coax, 2x s-video, 2 component, hdmi and I think a few others but think what I've listed is what I'll be needing to get me back to gbpvr.

So I REALLY need your help in getting me back gbpvr please.

It seems to think it changed to Channel 1, but it recorded the channel it was previously on (in this case #3).

I am using the IR that came with my WinTV-PVR-150MCE. IR Sender is on Blaster #1.

Normal channel changes work fine, but scheduled recordings don't seem to change. Any known issues?

  Problem with 2nd tuner card
Posted by: bruce9x - 2007-09-16, 04:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I have been using GBPVR for over a year now, and I think it' great!

I am using version 0.98.3b

Since I started using GBPVR, I started with a Hauppauge PVR-150. I have my cable coming into my STB, then into my PVR-150. I'm using a IR Blaster to change the channels on my STB using the Hauppauge remote.

Here's my problem.

I just added a second tuner card (a Hauppauge PVR-500) and now I can't seem to be able to control the STB in Live TV. If I change channels, I can only access the analog channels that the PVR-500 has access to. If I try to access a digital channel (say 300), GBPVR says it has changed the channel, but the STB has not had its channel changed.

I am able to record from the STB (if I try to record a digital channel, the IR blaster changes the channel on the STB to the appropriate channel).

Also, when I added the PVR-500, I ran DeviceTypeCheck.exe, and it only says that PVR-500 with FM is Device #2, and PVr-500 is Device #3. It doesn't show Device #1 at all.

Thanks for any help.

  PVRX2 question
Posted by: scb147 - 2007-09-16, 03:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

When selecting a program from the TV Guide, is it possible to go back to the main menu when I exit the Live TV instead of going back to the TV Guide?

Also, if I scroll through the TV Guide to a couple days in advance, then exit out of the TV Guide. When I enter the TV Guide again, it is still in the spot I advanced it to, instead of the current time.

Not sure if these are universal problems, or only problems I am seeing.
