All of a sudden my EPG stopped working. When I do a manual update it takes about 5 seconds (which is not long enough to do anything). And nothing is updated. I haven't changed anything for ages, all of a sudden yesterday I had a blank EPG. Before I upload my logs has anyone had this before?
As mentioned I'm using the DVB EPG update, so it shoudl be fine.
I seem to be having the same problem some others are having with the newest GBPVR blocking the windows screensaver- whether or not I turn the GBPVR one on in config. Also as others, I'm using the Hibernator to put the machine to sleep when it's idle, which worked fine in 1.0.8, but no longer.
I've also tested with other screensavers, which are similarly blocked.
Hey guys,
I have an Asus u3000 mini, which works great when watching TV in GB PVR, but when i record i only get dvr-ms files. I would like to record in mpeg2 or even an avi file. Any ideas on how to do this?
I think this started happening around the time I added the MVP... but now it's happening everytime I run PVRX2.
I pull up Windows Task Manager and kill the PVRX2 process that is running at 90-100% CPU. Almost immediately another PVRX2 process starts up and starts consuming CPU until it gets back to 100%. Wierd.
Eventually, if I let it just crank away for 20 minutes or so - it will calm down and go down to 0%. But why is it even in there?
First time poster, and I'm totally new to the arena of HTPCs...
Currently, we have Dish Network via SBC, and I am considering moving to FTA and digital television, but need some advice as to which PCI card (or two cards?) I should be buying for doing this.
I currently have a Superdish 500, so I believe I have the capability of pulling in two sat signals at one time...also, the DVR we have allows us to record two shows at one time.
I have a license for Windows Media Center Edition, and I am putting together a system using a mini-ATX form factor, giving me 3 PCI slots + 1 AGP. I don't necessarily have to go with MCE (but since I got it with my MSDN subscription, I figured what the heck) - - XP or even 2K is an option here.
I was _this_ close to purchasing a dual tuner FTA receiver, but then came across the idea of using a HTPC to also manage my downloaded videos/pictures/music, etc.
My overall desire is to retain the ability to record two channels at once.
Do I:
1. Get a dual-tuner FTA card (do they exist)?
2. Get a dual-tuner FTA receiver, then plug it into a dual-tuner/input card
3. Get two single tuner FTA cards?
If I went with option 2, would I experience issues recording channels from the HTPC through the satellite, since the sat tuner isn't a part of the HTPC?
So, I need some advice as to what hardware I should go for here.
Again, I'm totally NEW at this, so please be patient with me.
This is probably more of a Windows XP question but figured I'd have better luck asking it here anyway.
I'm working out the bugs on a new HTPC. The new ATI 2400HD card is hooked to one monitor and the s-video is going to an analog TV. The lowest "second monitor" setting (TV) I can get on the card is 1024x768. The only settings I get for it are "extended desktop" and "clone desktop."
When going to full-screen, another PVR program outputs correctly to the TV with the TV set as "cloned desktop." VLC plays video files properly full-screen to the TV with these settings as well. But GBPVR treats the TV as a true "clone desktop" mode -- the video output is higher resolution than the TV is so the video is too big for the screen and you can scroll to the edges with the mouse, etc. The TV is being treated as a real 1024x768 monitor instead of a (640x480?) TV-out.
Anyone know what windows setting I'm missing for the svideo-out to properly fit the TV? VLC is a standalone player so maybe that's why it works well, and the PVR software that came with the tuner card fits the TV properly for some reason. The only codecs on the computer are the CCCP package, and GBPVR is set to defaults.
If anyone is interested, I'm selling my xbox with accessories and games on ebay; absolutely nothing wrong with it, and hardly used - just don't use it any more since I bought a 360.
Hope this is is not outside the guidelines of the forum, but thought I'd post it here in case any of you guys were interested...
Just fixed an issue with loading EPG data from Schedule Direct and tried to start the gbpvr system. The initial "splash" screen came up, it indicated that it was loading plugins and starting but I was left with a dark empty square where the system menu should have been.
I've attached the zipped log files - also, I don't believe that it's trying to load any skin other that the default blue one so I think it's something else.
well i just found out that zap 2it is no more .im going to miss it... it was nice not being forced by them to pay 60$ a year. i hope schedule direct quickly goes out of business because there charge of 15$ per 3 months is extorition:mad: for a epg !!! i refuse to use them and if it comes down to it i will resort back to my old VHS vcr and get rid of the Pvr .....

UncleJohnsBand: Due to changes with SchedulesDirect the Repeat indicator has been replaced with a New Show indicator.
UncleJohnsBand: Updated code to not only rely on the New Show indicator being set in the SchedulesDirect data but to also compare the air date to the programme air date.
This new functionality is only for SchedulesDirect Utilities users.
UncleJohnsBand: Corrected issue where the HD indicator was not showing up for HD shows for SchedulesDirect Utilities users.
UncleJohnsBand: Added ability to remove all reminders that are set on programmes.
This new functionality is accesed on the Admin page.
UncleJohnsBand: Added new CSS based Library pages (Music, Video, Photo).
To access the CSS based Library pages use Guide2.aspx rather than Guide.aspx. Select the Library pages from the header navigation tabs.
Streamer settings need to be set via a normal theme. I need to build a new stream settings interface for the CSS based screens.
Theme colors are for contrast only.....this is not an actual theme color scheme.
