When you change channels, the lower 1/3 of screen shows channel icon, name, and show description. I believe Ctrl-G would make this popup appear and disappear, and now it does nothing. Is this feature gone?
After trying to apply the patch a few times and the config locking up i think i have it working right. But i want to make sure before the big day september fully rolls in!
Does everyone else's still say retreiving from zap2it? I suppose it could be that on purpose because schedules dosent host the info themselves.
Just making sure
I am currently running GBPVR on a old computer (1.8 P4) and i'm thinking retiring it to the lounge to be run as a media center. I am also planning to get another computer which will be based in my office.
What I thought I might do is use the office PC as the main storage PC. The old PC will go in the lounge and have the tv card (only because the remote plugs into it). I am planning on connecting them via wifi.
My main question is what sort of demands are put on the network in terms of streaming media, or storing on another pc on the network?? Will WiFi handle it??
I could put the TV card in the new pc and use the old one purely as a client. The main down side of this is the remote wont work. Does anyone have a good idea to get around this??
I'd like to hear your thought or experiences before I go out and buy the hardware.
I would like to code a plugin that reads ahead in the closed captioning for a program and looks for vulgar language and them mutes the audio at that time in the playback. I would like this to be real time if possible; for live tv, dvd, and tv recordings if the data exists. My question is this: How can I get the closed caption stream so I can look for the appropriate words?
I have a WinTV-PVR-150
26582 LF
Conextant MPEG II A/V Encoder
CX23416-22
I had the timestamp error described in the Wiki, so I tried the beta drivers and the registry fix.
Now, whenever I do a timed recording, the end file after recording always is 0 bytes.
During recording, the filesize does grow steadily larger, so it is storing the video data. Then, when the recording is finished, somehow the filesize goes to 0. If I cancel a recording before its scheduled stop time, the video has the correct filesize and plays normally.
I also notice a .srt file with a 0 bytes filesize during and after a recording. It has the same name as the .mpg file.
I have tried removing and reinstalling the TV card drivers, and removing and installing GBPVR. These did not fix the issue.
Is there some way to emulate the on-the-fly conversion used by MediaMVP software? Perhaps a way to use the Hauppauge transcoding dlls instead of ffmpeg?
The MediaMVP software is better at playing non-MPEG movies. The difference is that GBPVR converts the file on the fly to disk which means that you cannot jump past where it has got to transcoding the file. MediaMVP also converts on the fly, but streams it so you can jump straight to the end of the movie and back again, and also remembers where you were for each movie.
GBPVR is fine for watching movies, but not having fast-forward/skipping is limiting.
