  I'm I missing something or is there a better way...
Posted by: Pochrist - 2007-08-07, 05:22 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (13)

I've been using my MVP for a while and it wasn't till recently that I decided to use the GB-PVR interface, the problem I got is, I hope correctable by automation.

I did the typical set up, Disable GB-PVR service, run the MVP and after it establishes a connection, power off via remote, then disable MVP Services and re-enable GB-PVR services. This method works fine.

But the problem is if by some strange chance the PC crashes, restarts or is hut down while the MVP is on or someone turns on the MVP without the PC on then I have to go through the whole services setup process again. Its not hard for me, just irritating. But try to explain how to fix it to my wife.

Did I fail to set up the MVP correctly or like halfway? I typically keep the PC in Hibernation when its not in use.

Is there a plug-in or script that can run that will avoid creating the problem I have?
Thanks

  how to upgrade
Posted by: twinfrey - 2007-08-07, 03:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

Hi. I want to upgrade but I want to make sure that I keep all of my settings the same as they are now. Is there an easy and convenient way to do this? Also, when I upgrade, how will I get GBPVR to recognize what recordings are already there and have them show up in my "Recordings" tab?

  WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner
Posted by: rjp56 - 2007-08-07, 03:01 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi Guys,
another problem, still not managed to get the Kworld Working, so thought I'd get the above so that I could at least record a second tv Prog on another Machine.

I have managed to get the device recognised, by altering the BDA.ini file and adding the following lines :-

[WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER="WinTV Nova-T Stick DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "
PIN_RECEIVER_IN=Input0
PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Result = System crash on update channels.

I have run Filter check :-

  Can you help with cinema listings sources?
Posted by: McBainUK - 2007-08-07, 12:52 PM - Forum: International Cinema Listings, RSS Reader, WebCams, Calendar, Files and Screen Saver - Replies (1)

If anyone is even a little bit handy with C# (or any programming language for that matter as the source scrapers don't have to be .NET), I'm looking for people to help me keep the sources up to date. It takes time to keep all the sources current and latley this is something I have less of...

So if you want to get involved this is an open invitation. We can sort out the mechanics of it and source code managment and so on once (if) I get offers of help. If I get enough interest I would be prepared to make the plugin more open and create a framework for 3rd party sources.

  Suggested Cinema Listing
Posted by: CrispyNoodle - 2007-08-07, 12:44 PM - Forum: International Cinema Listings, RSS Reader, WebCams, Calendar, Files and Screen Saver - Replies (1)

Hey, Great Cinema Plugin - thanks.
Could you include this one...
http://au.movies.yahoo.com/Now+Showing/in-cinemas/
or:
http://www.yourmovies.com.au/

They cover most of the major cinemas throughout Australia. (Hoyts is only one of many Cinemas here)

PS: Could you make a sticky thread to outline what we can do to help make new listings or maintain the old listings?
Cheers
Crispy

  Best Supported Dual Tuner with HDTV
Posted by: Variable - 2007-08-07, 12:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I'm curious what the best dual tuner with HDTV is that will work with gbpvr.

I currently have the ADS Tech MCE-4000 and didn't see it on the support page. I am curious if there's any way to use it with some type of work around such as choosing a different model or something like that.

If not, then what is the best dual tuner card that has HD capabilities that is supported?

Thanks,

Variable

  Odd problem with livetv, and problem with manual recording
Posted by: mkecman - 2007-08-07, 09:10 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,

I have a problem with livetv. I installed fresh windows xp home, and all updates, firefox and Nero 7.

When I start livetv, I get sound, but no picture, in configuration, I have told to gb-pvr to use Nero Video Decoder.

Problem with Manual recording in pvr2 application iz that the name of the recording cannot be changed. I can schedule recording, but I can't change the filename that will be generated during recording.

I will install newer drivers for pvr150 card tonight, to check if that may be the problem.

Keep up the good work on gb-pvr. Great application. 0.99.5 never failed on Win2k pro.

  Mysterious problem with DVD images
Posted by: 7ore - 2007-08-07, 06:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

In the new 1.0.8 there is support for .img beside .iso (thanks, Sub). But there is something funny with it. If I load a dvd image made as .img, it not only starts with the wrong menu, the browsing won't work at all.
If I recode it to .iso instead (nothing else edited) it works perfectly.

I've tried loading the .img in other dvd-players (vlc and powerDVD, the last is used in BGpvr as navigator) and the image do work there.
It's not a big issue, but a annoying one.
