Ever since the latest version of the EWA was released (I always install mine with GBPVR, never separately), accessing it randomly locks the recording service, requiring a reboot. Sub doesn't know what's going on despite his best efforts so I'm trying, here. I prefer the web interface over the actual program for recording list maintenance as it's easier for me to see what's what. Help on this is greatly appreciated - just let me know any logs, etc. needed.
I've been experimenting for a while with GBPVR on some old hardware I have laying around (since it's all I've got work with for the moment):
Athlon 750, 320 MB, PVR-150, ATI Radeon 7500 32MB (PCI)
...don't laugh to hard
I had v0.99 running on XP for a little while using overlay renderer, and as I've read of other users with old hardware in the forums, was quite usable. Just did a fresh install of Windows 2000 stripped down to bare necessities, and installed v1.0.8. I can't make sense of what I'm seeing though - in Live TV, video stutters badly (on both old and new interface) yet my CPU is down around 10-20%. Tried a variety of modes and decoders - stuttering changes a little, but is always there, and CPU is always low. Any clues on why the resources aren't being used?
Reading all the advice in the forums has been invaluable in getting me this far - thanks so much for the help.
since its a wishlist, I thought I would wish for a few things.
SVG support (but sub already knew that)
mask images: it would be nice to allow the major color to be selected in the skin file, but still have a nice overlay with some good gradients and such. for oddly shaped things it would be nice to be able to create a mask image. I realize that this would probably be resource hungry, but its a thought.
textures/tiling: to allow a simple image to fill an area, but keep its aspect ratio. for something like the diagonal lines in sassari, I would like to keep them at a 45° angle, but still fill the list area fully (not just scaled).
Sub: please reply to this, even if it is just to shoot it down thanks
My instincts tell me that the PCI version is the one to go for since I assume USB2 options might focus on portability (not an issue for me since it'll be in one pc all the time).
Will the Nova-T 500 PCI and Hauppauge Media MVP be a good combination and work well with GB-PVR? Or is there another model I should consider?
Next month I will be acquiring a widesceen (CRT) TV and I'm wondering how this effects my GB-PVR setup. I see the screen size setting in the config app, what does that do exactly?
Also, is there anything I can do grahpics card wise to make the most of the new TV? I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX5700
I previously purchased a Samsung LE32R88 which turned out to be less than useless for UK DVB viewing via media portal (another post exists in support). I've requested Dixons come and collect it so now I'm left looking for a TV....
I imagine I'm not alone in looking for a TV that will support a 25Hz multiple (50 or 75Hz) to allow smooth viewing of a PAL signal..
Does anyone else in PAL land have any recommendations?
Can someone PLEASE add support for the ASUS My Cinema-P7131 Hybrid tv-card? I need it yesterday
This is an inexpensive card with excellent quality, but GBPVR does not seem to support tha analog part of it, and I have no digital signal, so to watch tv on my new card I have to use that stinking PowerCinema program (iearch )
I have a weird problem. I can watch TV via the card in GBpvr, but when I try to remap the channels, none is found. Not even the ones that obviously work.
One reason could be that I did a update from Microsofts page. After that GBpvr didn't even find the card. So I went to Pinnacles site and downloaded the latest driver. Uninstalled the card and reinstalled it with the new driver, thus creating the above situation. I can find channels trying another software, so the card is working.
Here is my filterlog, if the problem is in bda.ini.
