Config erroring out or spontaneous reboot from GBPVR 1.08
Posted by: cknouf - 2007-07-25, 06:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

It appears I may have system conflicts here with my software/hardware (Hauuppauge 1600) setup on my main PC. I have had the Config application abort numerous times if I let it set there after having it scan for QAM channels. Yes, I have been able to preview and associate the Clear Channel stations with my cable channels but never have I been successful in viewing the QAM Clear channels from within GBPVR 1.08. I only have had success viewing the found QAN channels with WINTV. Other times, while running GBPVR, my system reboots on its own, which it has never done before. I should note that I am running Beyond TV 4.6.1 on this same PC, though I shut it down before doing any of my GBPVR testing. So, last night I uninstalled GBPVR and am not sure whether the cause was/is the Hauppauge beta driver or GBPVR. This message can be moved to a support section if necessary but I wanted to at least state that the effort of Sub and all the folks in this group have been real helpful but for now, I will wait for the next release and possibly new production Hauppauge 1600 drivers.

Thanks - Craig

  PostMessage() / IR32 No-Focus compatibility
Posted by: HydroChronic - 2007-07-25, 06:26 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

Hey Everyone,

I am trying to add functionality to my plugin's Internal Player which will allow applications (including Hauppauge's IR32) to use Windows API functions (SendMessge and PostMessage) in order to pass key inputs to the Player. I am having problems figuring how to capture these events though. I am beginning to think that I need to register a Windows Message using RegisterWindowMessage(), but as I read the documentation on this I am not sure that the same integer value will be given to the string for each computer.

Can anyone give me an idea as to where I need to go from here. Essentially I am trying to get the same effect as sub has for GBPVR, where on a certain message integer (32771 i believe) GBPVR parses out the system key identifiers and reacts as if a keypress has occured.

Thanks

  ZProcess: cmdline cannot be parsed

Hi Zehd and others.
FYI
Still probing into the utility, I found zprocess generates invalid commandline to mencoder for the soft equalizer to videoformat (on my system):

C:\>"C:\Program\mplayer\mencoder.exe" -oac lavc -ov

It seems that it reacts to the comma sign there... could it be that it should be a period and that this is because of my locale setting? E.g. the notation of "one and a half" is in Sweden "1,5", not "1.5"
Can you confirm?

  Wake up from Standby Help
Posted by: SF123 - 2007-07-25, 05:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I have just installed GB-PVR for the first time (v1.0.8) and am having trouble getting my PC to wake up from standby to recorded scheduled programs. I have checked that the PC does wake up for Windows Scheduled Tasks successfully. I have not been able to find a solution to this problem in the forum.

Please can someone point me in the right direction for troubleshooting this?

Thanks
Steve

How Much Storage on Your Network?
Posted by: bdgbill - 2007-07-25, 05:56 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

I recently bought a 320G external backup drive and new 500G recordings drive for my PVR.

Looking around my apartment just now I was a little surprised to see that I now have 1.3TB of available disk storage on my home network.

This was unthinkable just a few years ago. I thought I remembered seeing something a while back that said the entire Library of Congress would fit on a few TB's.

I'm sure this will feel a lot smaller when I start recording HD. Data always seems to catch up to the drives.

  pdc?
Posted by: wsmaal - 2007-07-25, 05:50 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Does support GBPVR "PDC" (Program Delivery Control)?

EPG works fine but the frequently delays of the scheduled programs is annoying. With PDC however, if a TV program you want to record is delayed or re-scheduled, the recording will automatically be re-scheduled too, so you don't miss any of the programs.

  set top box controlling gbpr?
Posted by: butterz - 2007-07-25, 05:11 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (9)

hi, i have been lurking quite a while, but not posting to much (mostly just reading and learning) I was wondering if someone could help me out.

Is there a plugin or is it possible to control gbpvr from a set top box? For example could i set a timer on my dishnetwork vip222box to have gbpvr start recording. the vip222 can have timers set to start vcrs and dvd recorders, can this be used to start a recording on a htpc?

  v. 1.0.8 error message
Posted by: Kosketus - 2007-07-25, 04:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hi

Have just upgraded to v. 1.0.8. Checking Config, all settings have remained as before. But invoking 'Live TV' produces only this error message:- "Input string was not in a correct format". (I get the same message if I go via TV Guide > watch programme). Is this a known bug?
