  mvpmc & Net Radio.
Posted by: mvallevand - 2007-07-13, 08:43 PM - Forum: MVPMC dongle - No Replies

I user emailed to ask how to get Net Radio with the mvpmc until PVRX2 supports it.

Here is a quick & dirty way to stream mp3 and ogg stations via mvpmc without using GBPVR. This first method is designed for those who can use the mvpmc share.

1. On the host PC copy the desired m3u and pls file containing the URL of the stations you want to listen to into the mvpmc shared folder (or a sub-folder)

2. On mvpmc, exit emulation mode with Go - Back.
Use the Filesystem option and navigate to /etc/mvpmc
Select the pls or m3u file to play the desired stream.

3. To stop playing hit the stop key and hit the Back key to get to the main menu.

If you just want to test it, even without an mvpmc share, in step 2 navigate to /usr/playlist and load the file called default.m3u. Some formats in this(aac+,wma, ra) are supported but not as easily setup. You can also update this file by pointing your browser's IP at the mvpmc's but your choices won't be remembered after you unplug/reboot.

You can do more than this but that should be a start.

  Skinning
Posted by: nightwalker - 2007-07-13, 08:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Is there a survival guide to updating skins for the new version?

So far I've not gotten any of my personal skins to run on the new interface, not exactly surprised of course. They will run on the old GBpvr.exe but with the new version interface out who wants that. Wink

I'd like to start updating so they would run natively but to be honest have no idea where to start. Will i have to learn skinning all over again?

  Minor Issue

Not a problem really, I just wanted to let Sub know that on the old Config.exe, on the Capture Sources tab, the up & down buttons are missing text. They still work, but they are 2 blank buttons.

  GBPVR install error
Posted by: cyclox - 2007-07-13, 07:36 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I'm getting an error during installation:

Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\PsiParser.ax failed to register. HRESULT -2147010895. Contact your support personnel.

I'm installing on a system with the Hauppauge 125 PCI board. If I ignore this error, I get the following error when the program launches:

Microsoft.NET Framework unhandled exception. Could not load file or assemble 'Native Utilities, Version=1.0.2743.16120, Culture=neutral, PublicKey Token=Null'.

details are below (long).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

  HVR-1600 QAM drivers (3.4d1)
Posted by: steveum - 2007-07-13, 06:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have been trying to download the hauppauge QAM enabled beta drivers for the HVR 1600. I can never get a successful download. These are the ones labled 3.4d. Has anyone else had problems downloading from thier site? My download will just go real slow for a couple of hours then say it is complete with only a small fraction of the file actually getting downloaded.

My internet connection is pretty solid and never really have any problems downloading from other sites.

Does anyone know where these drivers might be mirrored?

  Question regarding choppy playback
Posted by: TornadoTJ - 2007-07-13, 06:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (22)

I still have choppy playback when watching ATSC programs. Is there a way to tell whether this is due to the recording process or the playback process? I'm trying to narrow down whether the problem is with the capture card or the video card.

Are there support for EWA in 1.0.8
Posted by: blizard - 2007-07-13, 05:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

How is the support for EWA in the new release of GBPVR? Is it the same as GBPVR 99.12?

I couldn't see any info on wiki page on the difference between GBPVR 1.0.8 and 99.12.

Would I gain anything to upgrade as I use EWA most control recoding through web interface on my CRT instead of standard view with blue skin. It is very rare I use standard view to watch LiveTV today.

EWAs streaming work very good for me with VLC to watch both locally or from internet my recordings and to play music.

I do not use remote control, only keyboard and mouse.

Considering my usage to record with GBPVR and be able to access from internet my computer to see video, tv, photo and music, would I gain anything to upgrade or just be better to wait?

  Problems with VMR9 Custom
Posted by: htewam - 2007-07-13, 05:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi all,

I'm currently running GBPVR v0.99.12 and have ConfigurationTonguelayback:Video Renderer set to "VMR9". With the new release, I see that "VMR9 Custom" will be the only renderer supported and there were some folks having trouble with CPU utilization so I decided to see if my PC would handle the CPU load.

Still using v0.99.12, I set the configuration to "VMR9 Custom" and then brought up GBPVR. What I get is a full-screen window with the GBPVR title bar at the top but everything else is completely BLACK. CPU usage is not significant and I don't know where to look to resolve this issue. Navigating around and trying to click in (what should be) the menu area does not change any results.

My PC configuration is as follows:

Motherboard – Asus P4C800-E with 1GB Memory & AMI BIOS
CPU – 3Ghz Intel Pentium 4
Graphics – ATI RAGE 128 PRO Ultra4XL VR-R AGP w/ 16 MB Video RAM
Tuner Card – Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150
OS – Windows XP SP2

Simply switching back to "VMR9" seems to make everything fine.

Thanks in advance !
