Just installed 1.08 (XP/P3 1ghz/1gm RAM/3 MVPs). Nice, nice nice. From the MVPs, snappier response on the menus, and the default skin is clearer just about everywhere.
Here are some minor things I've noticed on my MVPs:
* Neither Skip nor Fast Forward / Rewind are working for Recordings or Videos.
* Search Guide is no longer available (?).
* Repeatedly hitting the Back button no longer takes you back to the root of shared directories. From the root directory of a share, Back returns you to the main menu (it used to take you back to the list of shared directories). To get back to the list of shares, you must navigate up to the [..], or return to the main menu and navigate to Video Library.
The CDK Scheduler and XSuite sourceforge pages have under gone some updates. For those that are interested here are the big changes:
* Forums and Mailing list options have been removed. Primary reason was that this is where the main support happens.
* Wiki has been enabled. This is different from the wiki entry on GBPVR Plugin site, in that it is geared specifically to the source code for the plugins.
* Main project webpage will now redirect to the Wiki.
Hopefully, these changes will provide a better communication forum and presentation for accessing and maintaining the source code.
The one question I would like to put out there for those interested in the source code is if we should migrate to Subversion instead of CVS. Subversion has the advantage of running over HTTP so it's easier to access through firewalls and proxy servers.
sub Wrote:Good to hear. I've been curious how people with slower machines would get on. I thought that CPU would be too slow, but maybe the videocard is more important to this. I've got a 2GHz machine with Radeon 9250, which animates super smooth, but I wasnt sure how much slower you could go.
I find on this laptop that I've being doing dev on animations are very smooth.
But my "prod" box, an AMD DualCore 3600+ with an ATI X550 PCIe card, the animations look less fluid....
I have been happily browsing these forums (or is it this forum?) for several weeks now, however I am disturbed by the sudden increase in the number of postings today, not to mention the number of logged on members. Something is going on here... I think we should be told.

Seriously though, congrats to sub on the release of the new version, allthough releasing is probably the easy bit compared to handling the first flush of problem reports and support requests. He is probably running about like a 'fly with a blue bottom' just now. I'm sure we all appreciate his efforts... (let's hope he's not got a vacation planned for next week  )
I know the dust hasn't settled but EPGExtra 1.1 won't work on GBPVR 1.0.

EDIT: Scratch that. After doing another EPG update, it seemed to take:
as the title says...
all the menus of xrecord are a blank screen.
when you first go to xrecord, the "ready" is populated, but if you change screens, they are all empty.
you cannot even go back to "ready"
You are still given the option of choosing to record until the end of the program. If you choose this option, it returns you to the main menu and no recording occurs. This option should probably be disabled/hidden if no guide exists.
When choosing to record until I exited Live TV, I recorded for one minute. I then checked my list of recordings and it was listed as being a 6 hour program.
I had this all working faultlessly on my vista 32 system, but had to reload vista and reinstall everthing now cant get it to work.
GB-PVR finds my usb tuner, tunes all channels in, updated EPG, then when i go to view live to TV i just get sound and the EPG stays onscreen no video..
