Maybe it's just something I've overlooked at 2AM.. but it seems with 1.0.8 that the live guide that comes up when watching TV is now just flat text, and not the graphical mini guide that used to popup?
Here in general discussion, I wanted to ask a few questions in preparation for moving to Australia.
I'm planning on stripping my computers and bring everything but the case and power supply. My thoughts were weight would be dramatically reduced and I would also solve my electricity conversion issue. I expect new cases with Aussie power supplies would be better than using step up transformers. Thoughts?
I know it's PAL land. Will my PVR150s work OK?
Is Television piped in through Coax, or something else? Antenna?
My MediaMVP is not a PAL version with SCART. Are Aussie Televisions equipped with S-Video ports. Standard Yellow, red, White RCA ports?
Do North American Routers and switches perform well with Step up transformers.
Are step ups expensive?
Can you foresee any other GB-PVR related issues with moving from NTSC Calgary, Canada, to PAL, Australia?
And while I'm at it, can anyone suggest the best, cheapest, fastest way to move money back and forth from OZ to Can?
As I said in the previous post, development of current ZTools is permanently halted. As I still reel from the devastation, I cautiously look toward the future...
By the end of August, 2007, I will have moved to the Gold Coast, Australia. It will take me some time to settle, and then learn to use GB-PVR in PAL-land...
I will be testing ZProcess and seeing how well the last version (1.0.15) serves me.
When I am ready to start developing again, I will be attempting to tap into memories of how the programs worked, starting from scratch, rebuilding a couple of the tools.
Most likely, ZProcess will be leaner, with many confusing and almost dormant features left out.
I would hope that at that time many of you who have worked with me in the past and offered friendly constructive criticism, may come forward again and help me redesign some handy tools...
Some of you already know, but I thought I would go public with some bad news.
I have lost all the original source code for all of my ZTools Software. That means that I will be unable to tweak or modify any of the pieces of software I've offered so far.
I have tested my software with the latest release of GB-PVR. Most of my software will continue to work as it has been.
Most notably, ZProcess 1.0.15 seems to be incredibly stable and performs well with the latest GB-PVR. It also performs well with the MVPMC project dongle.
ZRename also works well, though I have had trouble renaming episodes of 'Canadian Idol' This may be because the summer series isn't being updated in epguides.com...
I will continue to watch the forum and answer questions. I hope that current users will be satisfied with the latest versions...
Is anything necessarily wrong if my config app settings all reverted on this new install?
Also, for some reason, I got a crash at some point during the install...I think it might've been when the installer called the config app, but I can't swear to it. Just letting you know.
I would like to close the system tray icon so that I don't have it running all the time eating up system resources... but without it running I have no way of seeing what I have recording at that moment.
Is there some way I can set the system tray icon to popup in the system tray and show it recording only when it is recording?
Thanks Sub, the new interface seems a lot faster than before.
But I'm experiencing a problem.
When viewing LiveTV, it's fine.
When viewing DV file (.avi), it's fine.
But when viewing MPEG2 files (recorded from the ATI 550 PRO), then the screen is black and I have the video soundtrack... until I click on the blue button to display show info and then I got the video onscreen playing fine.
I'm using VMR9 with ATI MPEG video decoder...
I think it could be related to some weird settings but have no idea about what to look for...
Upgraded to the new release and it's working great. However I'd like to disable the clock on the MVP's main menu skin so I don't see the CPU spike I get every minute with the clock updates. This used to be easy to do, but I don't seem to be able to do it now.
I made a copy of the blue skin's directory, calling it Blue MVP. I configured the MVP service to load the Blue MVP skin, and according to the log, it does. I've tried commenting out both of the current time elements that I see in the menu sub-directory's skin.xml file, but it doesn't have any affect. The time still shows on the screen after saving the change and restarting the recording service.
Clearly I'm doing something wrong, but what is it?
I create folders and drop in a few plugins in each folder to group the plugins in a common area. For example I create a games folder (in config>plugins) and put sudoko, gamezone, etc in that folder. When I do this on PVRX2 it locks up and you have to terminate the process.
This works fine on GBPVR.
I have moved all of my plugins to legacy as well. No change.
I just upgraded to 1.0.8 and the process went smooth enough and everything seems to be working great on the PC side. Unfortunately, the MVP is another story. I've encountered two problems so far.
The first problem is that it seems to takes about a minute for the MVP to find the server and load the menu screen. Running 0.99.12 the menu would be up in 5-10 seconds after turning the MVP on. That is annoying but I can live with it.
The second problem is more severe. As soon as I try to watch anything, either live TV or prerecorded video (mpg recorded with GBPVR), I get a black screen and that is it. The OSD will show for a few seconds, and then just blackness (no audio either.) Hitting the back button on the remote (or any other key besides power for that matter) has no noticeable effect. After waiting a minute or so, I just powered it off and tried again to get the same result.
Any suggestions for where I should look or what I should try to correct these problems?
