I'm trying to get GBPVR v0.99.12 working on windows 2008 beta3. Of course I realize that it very early to do this, but it should be 'vista' alike .net compliant.

Error happens when during install the program start the config.exe, but got same message when I start the service or the gbpvr.exe file.

Getting the following error :
The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT:0x8007007E)

Woot has a good deal on a 128mb card with s-video out that would probably work well for a basic GBPVR setup. $19.99+$5.00 shipping.

I'm trying to use the video library to transcode a home view in DV format to DivX. Because both are .avi files it GBPVR tries to write to itself and erases the original file.

How do I get it to transcode to another filename?

Can somebody help me with this please ?

I need that utility , it solves my "no sound" problem.

The only place I know where to look is the direct recording settings,
that looks ok.

Hello, I'm at my wits end with Mythtv and as soon as I know what software, OS and updates I need, I will try using GB-PVR.

I need to research what I need for using Windows 2000 (I need Service Pack 4 and to make sure something else is installed?).

Two main issues I need to address:
1) Checking the TV schedule - Zap2it will be no more so how is anyone able to check listings and schedule recordings?

2) Creating DVDs - which is the best way? In Mythtv, it's built-in

3) Moving around and making changes - I guess it is easier to access than some versions of MythTV but I need to know how difficult it is to make changes (or undo) in GB-PVR. What if I want to cancel or change a recording or make a change during live TV (pause/stop etc.)? Also, what if I want to cancel the process of creating a DVD. What if I made a mistake and wanted to cancel so I can redo? This has become a major problem while using Mythtv for me. Thus, I want to know how much trouble I'll encounter using a Windows pvr program.

I also assume that there will be problems and issues when using a remote. I currently use a Hauppauge PVR150 in the myth box but how complicated is it installing and configuring the Cable TV settopbox and remote in GB-PVR? I hope it is easier than it was in myth.

Right now, I'll just be using my LCD monitor and look into which video card I should get. I currently have my choice of a FX 5200 Nvidia card or ATI X300SE card. One of those should be sufficient for now? If there is any update of a preferred card (in Nvidia or ATI series), please let me know.

Anyway, I hope someone can answer my questions. I hope to get it going soon. Thanks in advance for any answers/comments etc.

Picture is torn on some channels. This appears on live TV and on recordings.

I'm using a Hauppauge PVR 250 on Shaw cable in Van BC WinXP SP1.

YAHOO GO 4 TV NO LONGER RETRIEVES LISTINGS, THEREFORE THIS UTILITY NO LONGER WORKS.

THOSE UPGRADING SHOULD READ THE CHANGES. YOU WILL NEED TO CLEAR YOUR CURRENT CHANNELS AS THE CHANNEL IDs HAVE CHANGED.

This requires Go for TV to be installed and configured with at least one lineup. When installing, make sure not to tell it to run in service mode. Once a lineup is configured, the tuner can be removed from the machine (easily done with a USB tuner). Go for TV does not need to be installed on the same machine as GB-PVR.

Extract the contents of the zip file to the direcory of your choice. Run YahooXMLtv.exe and it will download the listings for each configured lineup and export an xml file using the name of the lineup for the filename.

No commandline options are required but the following are available:

dir=<OutputDirectory> -- Write xml files to specified path.
"dir=<Output Directory>" -- Same as above but for paths containing spaces. Note the Quotes. Default is the app directory.
file=<OutputFile1.xml,OutputFile2.xml> -- Write xml to specified file. Multiple lineups use comma separation.
retries=X -- Number of times to retry listings download (per lineup). Default is 3.
add-marker -- Appends an asterisk to the end of the show title if the show is not a repeat.
marker-text=X -- The text used when marking shows as new. Default is "*" Example: marker-text=(New) will output "The Closer (New)".
delay=X -- Time between retries in seconds. Default is 60.
display-name=X -- Specifies the first display-name tag to be written. The rest will be written in the order below. Default is 1.

My wife is about to embark on a teaching job overseas and I thought I'd buy her an MP3 player to take with her. The one I have my eye on has a rechargeable battery built in but is possibly only rechargeable via a USB port (the specification doesn't mention external adapter).

She's unlikely to have regular access to a PC so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a mains adapter with a USB connector in it for recharging USB devices like this. I think I saw an adapter for iPods like this but can't find where I saw it.

It needs to run off 240V ac and have a UK-style mains plug - any recommendations gratefully received.

I am having problems recording HD programs. When I try to record a show it either records fine, records a very small file (4kb) and then records a large file (1GB+), or records 2 very small files(4kb, 3kb). In either of the latter cases when I stop recording and go to the GBPVR Recordings I can see the show but when I try to play it nothing happens and I end up deleting the entry. When looking at the recodings directory I can see one dvr-ms file(xxxxxx.dvr-ms) but I later see the same dvr-ms file with a "-1" name(xxxxxx-1.dvr-ms) where both files are 4kb. Included are the log files. Can someone please help me out.

I have a .avi with an associated .sub and .idx - how can I get GB-PVR to support them automatically? Or is that a wishlist question...
