Hi,

I'm trying to get GBPVR v0.99.12 working on windows 2008 beta3. Of course I realize that it very early to do this, but it should be 'vista' alike .net compliant.

Error happens when during install the program start the config.exe, but got same message when I start the service or the gbpvr.exe file.

Getting the following error :
The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT:0x8007007E)

Details :
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
at Config.xfd6951461fe46d87.x1f0684532099dac8(Object xdf2e3583f942db7b, EventArgs xc4f45905cb1fc7ba)

config.exe.log shows no errors !

In the service log file :
2007-07-02 02:05:33.343 ERROR [5] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
at GBPVR.RecordingService.x93f60a55016d55c4.xcba1f05fb5a46d5f()
at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()

Any help would be welcome, I'm migrating from windows 2003R2 to this beta version.. But love my digital video in this box !

Thank in advance,

Sorry, I'd have no idea on this one. I obviously havnt tested in Windows 2008 yet. Its missing some DLL. Maybe missing WMP or DirectX or something similiar.

Ok, no prob. This test is done in vmware, so there is a chance that it related to the virtual system.
Coming days I will start installing it on new (real) hardware, will keep you updated.
Anything I can do to troubleshoot ? I tried filemon, but got so much info that I don't have a clue which file could be missing.

I'm not really sure - its always hard to identify missing DLLs since .net came along.

I'm guessing its DirectX missing though.

didn't think GBPVR would work in a vmware application?
Intel P4 2500 mhz, 1.25G Ram, XP Home SP2, Maxtor 30Gb and WD 200gb drives, PVR-500MCE, DM500s, dboxrecorder, GBPVR 1.2.9, 2 x wired MVP,

Why should vmware be a problem for GBPVR ? But you are right, the real test is real hardware. Planning to build hardware this week, so have some results end of this week.

@ sub, directx is running in the vm, but it is directx10 (like vista) of course. I thought that gbpvr was supported on Vista ?

Ok, installed this evening on real hardware. Same error :-(
Anything special you need to do on Vista to get it working ?

It's a completely new installed system, only gbpvr installed at the moment.

Hi,

Next step.. Windows 2008 final released.

Installed 2008 standard, gut the same error as before. But found the solution for that.
Windows 2008 has the option to install a feature called "Desktop Experience", after installing that, GBPVR installs just fine !

I have a Hauppauge 150MCE, installed the drivers 2.0.48.25037 and everything looks fine.
No errors in windows.

But when I try to access the card in Live TV a get the error "Failed to locate configured device".

I run filtercheck and I see the device nicely configured. See attachement.

In the logs from gbpvr.exe I see this :

2008-02-20 22:17:42.234 VERBOSE Found names:
2008-02-20 22:17:42.234 VERBOSE Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
2008-02-20 22:17:42.234 VERBOSE Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture
2008-02-20 22:17:42.234 VERBOSE Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvTuner
2008-02-20 22:17:42.234 VERBOSE Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II TvAudio
2008-02-20 22:17:42.234 VERBOSE FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Crossbar
2008-02-20 22:17:42.234 ERROR Failed to find Crossbar filter

Any idea what could be wrong ?
