I know this issue has crept up a bit in the past, but not quite for this exact subject which is trying to choose or create a successor for My Videos, especially for TV.com and IMDB listing lookups.
Personally, I think reven did the best job in making plugins for GBPVR with the "My" series, especially "My Videos." It's just a tragedy that we don't have it being developed/supported any longer.
The closest alternative seems to be VideoArchive, but it lacks the lookup features of My Videos. IMDB lookups work I believe, but the best part of My Videos was TV episode lookups; what an amazing feature! I had DVD rips of episodes, hundreds of them, just a scan and boom... it had posters and information for ALL of them in its database. That option simply isn't in VideoArchive or any other plugin that I've looked into.
reven, you sure that sending a few bucks into your paypal wont change your mind? (Worth a try.)
I have been using the gbpvr for a couple years now with the Hauppauge 150 and with great sucess, THANKS SUB!!!! I just upgraded to a HDTV and bought the Hauppauge 1600 with OTA HD tuner and an in the process of setting it up. Everything has gone good so far but I cant get the OTA HD station to pick up in the scan. I am trying to run both cards at the same time so I have some trouble shooting to do. If I cant figure it out I will repost regarding that problem. This post is regarding QAM support for the 1600 card.
While trying to get my card working I went to the Hauppauge site and found this "Installation CD Version 3.4C beta 1 with QAM support for WinTV-HVR-1600 product codes 74021 and 74041". It looks like they have developed a beta driver to enable QAM support for this card. Has anyone played with this yet? Any sucess and if so how did you make it work? Did you make QAM work with gbpvr or any other program?
If QAM does work I may go that route before trying to get my over the air HD to work. Well just thought I would check to see what people have tried so far with this card. Thanks so much I love this sight!
UncleJohnsBand: General bug fixes to updated stream options in Player window.
UncleJohnsBand: Added code to handle auto-login when running Vista and IIS 7.
UncleJohnsBand: Added filtering of Saved Searches so that you can quickly find Saved Searches that are set to Auto Search.
UncleJohnsBand: Corrected issue with Reocurring Recordings not displaying correctly in Manage Recordings tab when using Treeview with a primary sort of Status.
UncleJohnsBand: Added ability to change the quality and padding on Season/Reoccuring recordings.
Note: When you change the quality and/or padding it will only effect new shows that get scheduled.....unless you have the option to do a complete reload of your EPG in the GBPVR config.

If you add mutiple capture sources and choose to use the DVB-T EPG... Why does sage list each channel multiple times in EPG (instead of realising they're duplicated)? Is there a way to make Sage this as one channel, with a choice of four tuners supplying it?
I've been having trouble with my system freezing up "locking up" recently without any log entries for gbpvr or system. I've noticed references in the past (searched threads) and recently about trying overlay instead of VMR. So I am wondering if there can be a short summary of the differences between the two. Currently I am using the nVideo PureVideo and would like to know if that is part of switching from VMR to Overlay.
OS: Windows Vista Biz Edition
DVB-T Device: Hauppauge HVR-900
"extender": MVP wired
When I try to watch LiveTV:
1- tv screen stays still until the time buffer delay passes on...
2- tv screen goes black
3- gbpvr flashes to GUI mode for a very short time
4- gbpvr restarts
I tryed to extend LiveTV pre-delay time up to 15s but the behaviour is always the same.
The log file reports a .NET error due (imho) to sharing permission violation or something similar... Here follows the log stub... The error is given in Italian but the translation should be something like "Access to path <temp_file_path> is denied.'
I've recently performed a fresh install of 99.12 and are having constant problems with the database locking
It's running on a dual processor server.
I only have "addepisode" in the postprocessing.bat and have started the sql logging so that maybe someone can shed some light on this issue before i roll back to the previous version.
I had video archive installed but though that was to blame and have since removed it but it's not helped
I unfortunately have the problem where I end up with the same program appearing twice in the EPG when the times change, where the program overlaps by a few minutes in the EPG, illustrated below - this is the same episode, but in the EPG twice at two different overlapping times (by 5 minutes).
If this is a program set to season record, GB-PVR schedules the first one and dismisses the second one as conflicting with the first, meaning that I have to cancel both, and then schedule it as a manual recording. This happens quite often, especially on the BBC as they like changing their schedules.
My wishlist feature would be, an option which you could tick which would combine these duplicates into one recording. That is to say, if the scheduler detects two programs with exactly the same name, overlapping with each other, instead of blocking the second one, to join them into one long one (that way, you will get extra padding to compensate, but at least the entire thing will record - missing the last vital 10 minutes because of this and you hadn't noticed in advance or been away can be rather annoying)
If this could be possible, or indeed, if there were any way around this, I would be incredibly greatful, but obviously I understand that if this doesn't happen to you and you already have incredibly limited time, it's probably not going to be something you're going to be able to develop, which is fine, just thought it wouldn't hurt to suggest in case
