if Hauppauge PVR 350 is set for decoding the videos, the menue button for DVD is not shown, because the PVR350 is not able to show DVD's.
Is it neccesary to exclude the dvd-player completly, if i use the pvr350 for video output ? Couldn't the DVD-Player simply use the software decoder while the pvr350 output is simply displaying nothing or some text, saying that the dvd-player is using the software decoder ? That would be very much more comfortable for viewing dvd's.
I know, that you are not very keen on changing anything that is dealing with the PVR350 (I read the thread: "Use PVR350 for MPEG and software for Xvid"). But maybe it would just be a very little change, that does no harm.
Windows update offered me an updated driver for this card and I loaded it as I have been having some issues with these USB sticks and the video card in my machine not liking each other much. Installed driver version is now 3.6.0.0 provided by Pinnacle, and the driver date is 12/02/2007.

Can this please be added to the next release version so support is out of the box.
taking into account the audio requirements, what should I set the cbr to to fit in a 4.5 gb dvd disk? I'm not quite sure of the numbers, as vbr always is a bit over a single dvd. thanks.
I just read avsforum and saw that HVR-1600 is supporting clear QAM with their Wintv v6. I hope this is good news for GBPVR users that we will have GBPVR support in the new future.
Digital QAM features
If you are using digital cable which broadcast the local ATSC channels, you can receive these QAM channels with the new WinTV v6 application. QAM is only supported on product codes 74021 and 74041 (found on the tuner label).
Note: not all cable TV networks send clear QAM channels
Note: if you have a WinTV-HVR-1600 poduct code 74021, click here for the latest software which supports QAM
Does anyone know how to get around this problem? I did a quick search of the forum with no success.
I use a notebook as a client, but when I am not connected to the network, it obvisously cannot find the server. The GBPVR startup process hangs when trying to find the server.
Of course, one way around this is the make the notebook standalone again via config, but that's not elegant. Is there a better solution, or is this one to add to the wish list?
So this morning I woke up and tried to launch gbpvr, and it gives me "The program has encountered an error and needs to close"
I tried rebooting, didn't fix it...
Tried installing the newest version, didn't fix it...
And it does the same thing with the config app...
I would like someway to see the signal quality/signal strength ( perhaps as part of the channel mapping tool? ) so I can tune my antenna positioning. The software that comes with some of the ( ATSC ) cards is near useless for this.
It would be nice for it to be separate from the main gb-pvr program, as when I vnc into the tv computer from my laptop on the roof, I can't see things drawn with Overlay mode.
Not a high priority or vastly important by any means, but it would be nifty to have.
I am trying to figure out how to use a method from the skinHelper object.
skinHelper.getNamedImageElementPos(name, element)
What are name and element variables?
What I am trying to do is determine where in a text box a user has clicked the mouse. I am trying to use the above method to determine the location of the text box, and then another method (getNamedElementSize) to determine the height. Based on this information, I should be able to determine where in the text box the user clicked when the onClick event fires.
Hello! I have a Hauppuage PVR 150 card in my computer. I like it, but the sound skips. It seems to be worse on some channels. It kinda adds a skip when there is noise. For example, right when someone begins a sentance, it will skip. By skipping, I mean the sound turns off for a fraction of a second.
It's not really bad skipping, but enough to be really annoying.
Are there any solutions? I'm really upset this card is working very well, it was a lot of money.
