I've tried to set up my new HVR1600 and keep getting an error when I try to watch 'Live TV'. I keep getting the this error: 'ERROR: Index was outside the bounds of the array'.
Any ideas what I did wrong and how to get it right?
Visited the local computer-store today (Dynabite) in Arnhem. They still have mvp's on stock for â¬50,- . They told me they still had enough, he couldn't believe they were hard to get elsewhere. So anyone interested, call Dynabite. I don't think they are on their website.
Wife is on holiday for a week, so I thought I might spoil myself with an extra tunercard.:p
I put it in, installed the drivers, started gbpvr config to add capture source, entered all the frequencies for the channels. And.....bingo it worked. Started telling myself how wonderful life is, how good I am etc etc (no-one else around to do that:o ).
I do some testing recording a channel while viewing another, everything is working fine.
Then suddenly after ~30 mins nomore picture, just snow or blocks or whatever, on the new 150.:eek:
Re-install drivers, change cables etc etc.
I start thinking the thing has died, last attempt: let's try the tuning assistent..........hey bingo it works.
Some serious thinking.......it turns out I had entered the frequencies wrong (forgot one zero at the end). Still don't know how it worked the first 30 mins, but I'm very glad it works again. Pheeeew
i have gb-pvr installed on a p4 3.0ghz with 1gig of ram, winxp and with a hvr-1600.
the hvr-1600 was previously in my core duo 2 machine with vista 64.
when in my vista machine, using windows media center, the picture is much better when watching analog tv than when the hvr-1600 on my winxp machine. i read a bunch on this forum, and concluded it was either my directx version, or my mpeg codec causing the problem, so i did the quartz.dll swap on my direct x, no luck, then i tired different codecs, the powerdvd coded, the windvd coded, and the nvidia coded, the nvidia code being marginally better than the other two, but no where near as good as what my vista machine will do. the problem is espeically noticeable during hockey (it is playoffs after all!)
any ideas? is vista's mpeg coded just that much better? is it doing post processing to get the picture that good? is it something i could fix using ffdshow post processing?
While looking at a log file I ran across the following
2007-05-05 09:28:48.468 ERROR [13] Error initializing plugin (ReflectionTypeLoadException): C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\plugins\WeatherPlugin.dll

I'm hoping that someone can tell me how to fix this.
I have a simple C# program to output the capture sources
Code:
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.ComponentModel;
using System.Data;
using System.Drawing;
using System.Text;
using System.Windows.Forms;
using Finisar.SQLite;
namespace sqltest
{
public partial class Form1 : Form
{
public Form1()
{
InitializeComponent();
}
private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
SQLiteConnection sqconn;
string dbpath = "c:\\temp\\gbpvr.db3";
string strconn = "Data Source=" + dbpath + ";Version=3;";
sqconn = new SQLiteConnection(strconn);
sqconn.Open();
int i = 1;
bool result = false;
do
{
string strSQL = "SELECT * FROM CAPTURE_SOURCE WHERE oid='" + i.ToString() + "'";
SQLiteCommand sqc = new SQLiteCommand(strSQL, sqconn);
SQLiteDataReader sqr = sqc.ExecuteReader();
result = sqr.Read();
if (result)
{
int alloc_order = (int) sqr["allocation_order"];
listBox1.Items.Add(alloc_order.ToString() + " " + sqr["name"]);
i++;
}
} while (result);
sqconn.Close();
}
}
}
I added a reference to SQLite.Net.dll. When I run the program, I get an exception on sqconn.Open(). Any idea what I have wrong?
I've long used an STB to pick up DVB and am now looking to get a DVB-S PCI card, but I have a concern.. I've searched long and hard and haven't gotten an answer, but I'm hoping some folks here can help me on this..
My dish setup is such that I have a mix of DiSeqC and 22khz switching that works perfectly fine on DVB set-top boxes. From what I see in GBPVR, the switching options aren't so robust. Is it possible for me to somehow specify my switching settings? It would basically be something like this:
LNB 1: 22khz off, DiSeqc #1
LNB 2: 22khz off, DiSeqc #2
LNB 3: 22khz on, DiSeqc #1
.. etc, just an example.. I've read about using Multidec plugins and the TSReader program and exporting transponder files from there, but I just don't know how I would do this..
Can someone please help me out and let me know how I can set my switch settings for use with GBPVR? Thanks!
I had an interesting problem that I wanted to ask you about. I had accidentally recorded the same program off two tuners, one ATSC and one analog, at the exact same time. It seemed like it caused the GBPVR software to have a conflict, I'm guessing it would cause GBPVR to try to write the same filename for both recordings. I haven't tried it since, I was just wondering if you had logic built in to handle this already.
I see that in the survival guide there are a few patches. I've noticed that the same file has been patched a couple of times. Is it correct to assume that I just have to install the newest one?
My machine isn't waking to update the EPG so I'm trying to figure out why - it does wake for recordings and for my scheduled tasks however. I can kludge it by updating the EPG when I know I've got a recording on.
