Was having too many problems with my PVR computer so I reloaded it from scratch, now I'm having problems with the audio on one of my tuner cards. My tuner cards are PVR150MCE, and an HVR1600. I can record and watch live analog tv on both cards, they both record analog just fine, etc. But I have no sound when watching live TV or recording and playing back digital channels on the HVR1600. Kinda strange. I had it working before the reinstall so I know it's not hardware. I searched the forums and found discussions of audio driver problems with the PVR150, but I haven't seen anything on the HVR1600 having that problem. The only two things I can think of is either audio decoders/devices, which seems unlikely because everything else works, and that when I had it working previously it was under an older driver version that came with the card. I'm in the US, so I'm not tuning using frequencies, so that doesn't apply.
Has anyone else heard of audio problems with the HVR1600? Any suggestions on troubleshooting for places to look? I've been playing with this for a while.
Also, I have an ASUS Extreme 300 video card that has TV out. I have never been able to get TV out working with anything other than VMR9 before now, which has never given proper performance. It was passible while recording and playing analog channels, but it was unwatchable on digital channels. I finally found a setting in the video drivers that allows me to use overlay and it seems to be performing well now, but I would like to use VMR9 if possible. I understand from what I read that VMR9 is the "proper" one to use in XP, and I think it does look better, but the performance is unacceptable. Any idea why that might be, or what I can do to fix it? I've been fooling around with different codecs and almost every setting I can find for weeks now, that's how I messed the machine up to the point where I had to reinstall it, and I can't find any combination that gives me as good performance as overlay. The machine is a 3GHZ with 1 gig of memory, and does very little except PVR most of the time. Two HDD, one dedicated to OS, the second to recordings. I'm using the ATI codec for playback.
this issue is less a gbpvr one and more a general MVP issue. seeing as how there is no forum at hauppauge website, i'll post here to see if anyone can help.
I had been running gbpvr fine through a wired MVP for some time now. I changed over to the new AT&T Uverse. they supplied me with a new 2wire modem/router. ever since then, the MVP will not connect. I went over the troubleshooting FAQ on the wiki but cannot even get the hauppauge software to connect.
after powering on the mvp, all i get is "connecting to DHCP server/connecting to MediaMVP software." it bounces back and forth between the 2. i tried this with the hauppauge sw on and off.
my best guess is that router is blocking something. when i check the router info, it shows a separate IP for what i assume is the MVP, so it seems the DHCP has assigned an IP. I have no idea what that means, but from what i gathered reading the wiki, a router with DHCP is required.
How do I get pictures in Easy View? I have been writing, in Config.xml:
<EasyView>
<Video>C:\MyVideos\Pocahontas 2\Pocahontas 2_20070101135800.mpg</Video>
<Video>L:\Videoer\Junglebogen 2\Junglebogen 2_20061224160000.mpg</Video>
</EasyView>
In the folder is a file, folder.jpg, that tells about the movie, but it doesn't show up in Easy View.
I've almost finished a beta release for my ComTweak plugin. So I've started looking into how to edit the wiki, and I am at a complete loss. I am asked to login all the time and there is no way to register a username. Can someone point me in the right direction?
I still have sometimes no sound on some recordings.
As an example the last recording scheduled and started in the log does not have sound.
I can not see anything wrong in the log files.
After a reboot I always have to start the tuning assistent otherwise I have no sound at all.
Maybe someone can have a look at the attached log file.
I am willing to do tests and additional logging.
The log can be found here
When I activate the video inset with gpbvr on the pc, the video that is playing neatly resizes to the size of the inset. Via the MVP, the video does not resize at all, so I only see the part of the video within the video inset. Is this normal behaviour?
Need some input on this as it take very much time to find out this by myself and reading GBPVR, videohelpt etc get me confused on what is the best for my need.
Which of these encoders are best for this purpose to make a high quality video XviD with AAC sound. The built in FFMPEG seem to not give the desired result and MEncoder take a lot of time (as far as I have tested it). Will XviD MPEG-4 Video Codec be able to to do a better job as it is the original project for XviD or is it only for decoding purpose?
My source are MPEG2 created from ATI Theatre 550 hardware encoder and in the range of 8000 kbps CBR with MP2 384 kbps for sound (max quality). This give a very good picture quality, but with a very large file size. Is it possible to cut out all garbage like advertising (Comskip and comclean) and then let it be transcoded to XviD and AAC which can be later decoded with CoreAAC and XviD MPEG-4 Video Codec?
I use Haali renderer and splitter, so I wish to be able to get the best container for those codec. What option do I have to get this to work?
As far as I have seen there ZProcess that can do something like this and then Stattiks project that are based on scripts (need some more reading to put it together). Is there any other option that would be better fit to what I want?
Which shows will result in physical harm to yourself at the hands of your spouse if they do not get recorded?
Mine are:
The Soprano's
ER
Big Brother
The Apprentice
Survivor
Various Hockey Games
And lately the French presidential debates from TV5.
Some of these shows I will schedule twice "just in case", once at the regular time and again 3 hours later from the west coast channels. Better to be careful then take the risk of sleeping on the sofa.
I recently purchased a K-World "Plus TV" analog USB stick from Buy.Com. ($18 after rebate, however I'm beginning to find out that buy.com never pays their rebates). Anyway, I bought it to connect to my computer at work so I could watch on it. Unfortunately, we have Windows2000 & the stick requires XP.
Since I already have the tuner, I'd like to connect it to my home PVR computer that already has a Hauppauge PVR150 & MVP for those rare times when I want to record two programs at the same time. I would not use GBPVR to record, but would use the KWorld software and point the video file to my Video Library so I could watch them through GBPVR after manually running Comskip.
Would this work, or would the software create a conflict?
Second question: Has anyone ever received a rebate from Buy.com?
I don't believe there is a method of changing where the logs are stored. Sub, how hard would it be to add the ability to change the folder in? Of course I couldn't stop there...how hard would it be to remap where all of the files that have to be updated/written?
The reason I'm asking is I've been reading about EWF and minlogin over at mp3car. I was wondering if it would be possible to set up EWF with gbpvr.
I'm a little tired right now...so I may not be processing my thoughts correctly atm.
Also, please forgive me if the questions are already answered...couldn't find if the questions had been asked before though.
