Can't seem to get back to live TV after exiting
Posted by: albumleaf - 2007-04-23, 04:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Basically I'll be in Live TV, watching and I'll hit back/exit on my Hauppauge remote and when I go back to Live TV, I just get a black screen. Exiting the application or opening another video from the Video Library/Recordings, then going back to Live TV seems to fix the problem.

Thanks so much for GB-PVR! Other than that, it's been frickin' sweet Big Grin

  EventGhost needs SendMessage interface
Posted by: zehd - 2007-04-23, 04:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

sub, the author of EventGhost is trying to build a plugin for GB-PVR. Originally we started off with keystroke emulations similar to HIP uses.

However the author of EventGhost would rather SendMessage to GB-PVR to control the interface.

I have not been able to find that information. Perhaps it doesn't exist or is not public, or I'm blind.

Does GB-PVR respond to message from the Windows SendMessage interface?

Problem with channel storage in DB
Posted by: nv40 - 2007-04-23, 03:26 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (37)

I just did a fresh install of the newest version of GBPVR, along with the 2 patches i found in the survival guide. I have dual tuners. I did an initial EPG update (zap2it) and like 4 or 5 random channels show up as channel 0, even though the name for the channel is correct. I empty'd the EPG data....but it still showed 2 channels.....both of which were showing as channel 0, although underneath the 0...it had the correct numbers (10 and 36). Idea's?

  multiple problems with gbpvr
Posted by: superdj4life - 2007-04-23, 01:45 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

so to begin i'm using a fairly old comp(amd semp 1.4 512mb geforce 5500 vid) so i'm not expecting anything spectacular. i'm also using a compusa branded tv tuner with the conextant blackbird chip inside. now the problems im using the most recent gbpvr i can find(9.912)

1. when trying to watch live tv error"failed to play back file"
2. since i installed gbpvr no .avi files on my machine will play they crash every player i try(windows, winamp, media player classic)
3. trying to use zap2it returns error "un authorized access" even though i've checked my profile with them multiple times.

i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong i've tried to uninstall/reinstall gb-pvr didn't work, i've tried changing codecs by uninstalling k-lite codec pack(full version) and install cyberlink power dvd 7.3 i've checked the wiki and couldn't find any information that pertained to my situation...oh but i did read the "before you post" information and my log file is included

thanks in advanced

Random shows Always stop playing at 15min
Posted by: djphatjive - 2007-04-23, 12:19 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Random shows are stopping from playing 15 min into the program. The time also says 15 on the timer and stops there, even thought the whole show has been recorded. But sometimes the comskip is also messed up and the mpeg file is messed up somewhere usually also. This has only been happening with this new version. I have reloaded the GB-PVR 4 times and it still pops back up. I even reloaded the driver with a new one fro the pvr150. I can send logs if you tell me what to send.

Please help Sub!!!!!! Smile My wife is killing me, It always seams to be her shows. And yes I applied all the patches also. Thanks.

  Client Hangs
Posted by: 4runr - 2007-04-23, 12:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

When I try to view either the live TV or recordings, the client hangs.

On the client machine, I can see the listings of previous recordings, and the guide.

Viewing both live TV and recordings on the server works fine.

Both machines have both ports open on the firewall.
Server ver. 0.99.12
Client ver. 0.99.12
Client Decoder: Sonic Cinemaster

Attached are the client logs. Should I post the server logs, or are the relevant?

I poked around the logs, but wasn't really sure what I was looking for.

Any help would be appreciated.

  best usb device
Posted by: cardinalsfan - 2007-04-22, 11:56 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

hey, im new here but have been using gbpvr for a while on other pcs....im moving to a laptop for college though and need to switch to a usb tuner. im wondering whats the best one? im looking at the following and it seems good. i love happuage and its native support with gbpvr but i was wondering if i have overlooked a better one, thanks!!

http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sk...caid=15890

also...seeing as its a laptop, its small on hd space. i have a huge (360 gig) external hd and im wondering what the best course of action is: should i record to the main hd and then transfer it to the external one or is i possible to record straight to the external drive?

Are there any tricks that can make VA naviagate through the recordings a little faster? It's pretty slow on my underpowered celeron.
