Shows record, but don't appear in Recordings|Ready display
Posted by: dshoup - 2007-04-22, 10:30 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (14)

Most of my shows are all getting properly recorded, but they do not show up in the "ready" section of the "recordings" button. There is no clear pattern as to when things work properly and when they do not (about 10-20% of the time, a show does show up as it should after recording, but appears to be random--not even show specific). I have tried re-programming my reoccuring programs, but it does not seem to help. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I've attached my log files and postprocessing.bat file. I am running v 99.12, I have also installed xrecord (4/4/07), comskip (4/6/07), comskippad (8/22/05), addepisode (4/10/07), searchwiz (4/12/07), slim GB-PVR (3/6/07), and probably one or two other utilities/plugins I am not remembering.

Thanks!

DVR-MS recordings no longer convert to mpeg.
Task manager shows gbpvrconvert.exe running at 99 percent.

HD rarely works.

Avi/Xvid videos seem to make gbpvr crash every other time.

SD programming seems to lock up from time to time.

I'm honestly considering giving mythtv another try just because I know it will be way more stable.

Consistent time format in the logs
Posted by: gEd - 2007-04-22, 07:25 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (10)

A very small problem:

All the log files have the time in 24h format except for gbpvr.exe.log and gbpvrecordingsevice.log which can occasionally cause a little confusion when trying to track down problems.

Help with DVB-T multiple setup and questions
Posted by: dogstar - 2007-04-22, 07:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi, I’ve been reading the threads on the “dreaded” Freecom DVB-T but have not seen anything relating specifically to my current problem, although personally, up until now, I have not had any problems with Freecom’s USB DVB, due to the vast amount of hard work put in by you guy’s. (Thanks BTW.)

I’m in the UK and have been running a combined Hauppauge 350 and Freecom DVB-T set up for some time now with no problems whatsoever. I recently upgraded to version 09912 and also decided to upgrade my PC with no problems. However I then came into possession of two more Freecom USB DBT sticks (type 3), which I attempted to set up as a multiple system when I discovered there was a problem.

On testing the sticks by replacing them individually in my original set up they all work fine. If I set them up as a single DVB in my new set up they work fine, but if I add a second DVB-T in config as device #2 (Type 3) I find that scanning for channels the second device remains inactive and picks up nothing. (I use XMLT EPG.)

Freecom’s stick has a small led which starts off yellow during boot, turning to green when detected and green when receiving channels. They are also known to get quite warm when actively receiving digital, yet when adding a second device during mapping and scan for channels I find that it is the first stick, device #1 that appears to get warm, while the second stick, device #2 remains cold as if GBPVR is attempting to access device #1 for the scan instead of device #2.

Both are set up as Freecom “type3” from the“only show available,” box which identify’s them with no problem and I have also tried VGear BDA drivers and Yakumo BDA drivers which all work fine on a single device set up, but both have the exact same result on a second Freecom DVB-T set up.

I’m probably doing something very obviously wrong that I haven’t figured out yet but from an observational standpoint GBPVR seems to be having a problem identifying that there are two USB devices installed and is attempting to use #1 in both instances. Therefore:

1) Is there any way to check to see if GBPVR has set up and identified two separate DVB devices and is correctly calling to each device in turn?

2) How and where does GBPVR identify and call on each device individually, especially when using identical DVB devices and when Windows assigns a (device 0) to the driver for each device?

GBPVR version 09912 on Windows XP service pack 2
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13 Ghz, 1066MHz,
Gigabyte 965P-DS3 motherboard,
2 Gig DDR2 Ram,
ASUS EAX1050 128Mb (1Gb HuperMemory)
x3 Freecom DVB-T sticks,

config program crashes when mapping digital channels to epg
Posted by: Snakes - 2007-04-22, 06:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

Please help! I am a newbie and have found this freeware gb-pvr program that I hoped would solve the problems I have experienced with my Hauppagge HVR 1300 DVB-T software. That crashes regularly and stutters so I checked out the alternatives through Google and found this!

I downloaded the software and installed, then tried to configure for my TV card. Only the analogue element showed up on the config screens so then had to change the BDA data to match my card. Got that sorted, then had to find the XMTL Guide software and download and configure that.

Did that then tried to configure gb-pvr - all fine until I hit the "Map digital channels to EPG channels" key. Initialises fine then starts to scan channel 1 of 57. At 9 it picks up a fair number with quality showing at 100%, then moves on to channel 10 and freezes/crashes and I have to Ctrl Alt Del to get out of it.

PLEASE HELP AS I AM SO CLOSE!!

Thanks in advance

  2 identical sources, 1 EPG question :)
Posted by: McBainUK - 2007-04-22, 04:48 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

After the mishap a few days ago I've rebuilt machine and installed everything OK. Have setup the 2 nova-t's by setting them as device #1 and #2 and its all working spiffy.

My question is now that as I have 2 identical capture sources, does the EpdateEPG scan the DVB EPG twice, once for each source, or it it clever enough to use the same EPG data for both sources?

  Hvr-4000 Dvb-s2?
Posted by: Tavy - 2007-04-22, 02:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

Hello,

I'm looking to replace the original software for my HVR-4000 card (PowerCinema), mainly for DVB-S2 transponders (HDTV channels).

I've looked for a couple of hours but I didn't find out what I'm looking for; is it possible to tune on DVB-S2 transponders? What are the main steps to be followed?

BR,

Tavy

Comskip out of sync when recording is transcoded
Posted by: pme - 2007-04-22, 02:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I have a strange problem.

When transcoding my recordings to a .mp4 file (using the following tags for video and audio: -vtag xvid -vcodec mpeg4 -deinterlace -acodec aac targetExtension=".mp4") my comskip gets out of sync.

If I on the other hand transcode to an .avi file (using the following tags for video and audio: -f avi -vcodec xvid -vtag XVID -deinterlace -acodec mp3 targetExtension=".avi") the comskip timing is correct.

The bitrate and quality is the same for both transcodings, and therefor leftout.

I don't know which codec is used for each format.

Any suggestions on what's wrong, or how to how to get it right?

/P-M

  DVD resume
Posted by: Clanky - 2007-04-22, 11:17 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

V99.12

When the dvd resume pop up appears, I can't navigate between Resume or Restart, the left & right remote or keyboard keys don't select either option.

The selection doesn't change on screen but it does work - if that makes sense Big Grin
