I've mentioned in a few other threads that I'm having issues with glitches when recording using a Hauppauge quadHD in particular configurations.  I'm 99.9% sure this is not a signal issue, but I don't intent to cast doubt on the Hauppauge when it might be other elements of the system.

I've tried two builds, one an ASRock J5005-ITX, and I have seen regular MPEG-TS continuity errors.

Using an old Dell Optiplex, and otherwise the same Hauppauge quadHD and aerial, I recorded 10s of hours error free and thought all was well.  Until I got a recording with several MPEG-TS continuity errors.  Drat!

I've been using this tool to check the MPEG-TS continuity - https://github.com/daniep01/MPEG-2-Trans...t-Analyser  It appears pretty good at what it does, and I've been able to confirm its output using DVB Inspector - https://sourceforge.net/projects/dvbinspector/   (packet numbers are sometimes out by 1, but other than that the info from both tools is the same).

The weird thing is, in this recent file captured on the Dell, it throws several errors such as "Expected 14, found 8", which means packets 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 are missing, and both tools confirm this...  however the file appears to play absolutely fine at the packet time indicated by DVB Inspector.  I've tried a minute either side in case I've missed something, but I can't spot a single error.  I would have thought 5 packets (188 bytes each) in a row would have thrown a significant visible error. Whereas with the problem files from the ASRock, there were obvious problems as you could see visible glitches in the video.

I know that analysing TS files and determining position isn't trivial, so maybe I'm doing something completely wrong.  :S

I'm thinking of building a new HTPC around an AMD APU.  

I've tried the Intel Pentium Silver route, and met lots of problems.  Some big, such as graphics driver issues, and some minor, such as the HDMI audio start delay.

I've read that AMD based systems don't suffer from those problems, but would be interested in hearing experiences and opinions.

I'd like my system to be silent (or nearly silent) so would prefer low power and either a passive heatsink or a very slow fan.  A PCI-E slot would be required.  Other than that, again I'd appreciate other users' experiences.

I am running latest NextPVR in Docker on my DS720+ Synology NAS (64bit quad core 2.7Ghz with 6GB) with HDHomeRun Expand (4 tuners).
Was scanning through my logfiles and found some errors/warnings... do not know what they mean but maybe it's of interest to you, maybe some kind of bug(s).

Things I have noticed are:
-TS continuity counter indicates missing packets
-System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Index and count must refer to a location within the buffer
-ERROR: resource locked by 192.168.11.100 -> related to fact some channels are encrypted like all 'Film...' channels ??
-ARGH!! table_id=0x.. (several id's)
-[8] writer.Close() did not complete in a timely fashion -> btw what are those numbers between [...]
-Unexpected error downloading artwork: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
-PowerManagement ScheduleWakeup (needs implementation) -> needs implementation?
-[39;49m[94] Unexpected error processing locator for DVB EPG: System.InvalidOperationException: Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute.
-Updating EPG takes 45 minutes for example from 2020-12-27 02:45:40 till 2020-12-27 03:28:54. Is this normal for 238 channels?

I have a Hauppauge Cord Cutter Network dual TV tuner, hard wired into a gigabit network. When I go into settings\devices the only thing showing is "IPTV" nothing else. If I attempt to use it there is no SCAN button only able to import either M3U or XC which I have none to import. Hauppauge's site has info saying the cord cutter is now compatible with NPVR so I wonder what I'm doing wrong or if there's something I can manually edit to point it to the Cord Cutter and get a scan button that works. Any ideas would be great, also I have no logs as the program won't see any hardware or channels.

I've been using NextPVR for a couple of years now (on a Windows 10 Home x64 machine), with no problems, but as of Saturday night I cannot get NPVR to access the epg.xml file.  I have tried the following:

Delete the epg.xml file and manually update (successfully)
Reinstall NPVR
Reboot


The live tv channels work properly, but no epg information is available no matter what I do.  The most recent changes to the computer (Friday) are a new USB camera, and installation of Zoom.  I have unplugged the camera (wanted to remove it from the device manager, but cannot find it) and uninstalled Zoom.

Any help you would be greatly appreciated!

I am having a problem adding one specific channel (and its subchannels). The channel is scanning correctly, however, NextPVR is refusing to add that channel with the correct frequency. Here is what is happening:

Channel 5 has a low-power channel on freq: 30 that is about 40 miles from me. I cannot reliably pick up this frequency, but it does show up in the scan. Channel 5 is also rebroadcast in my local area on freq: 25 (which I pick up very well). As you can see from the photos, I select the channel on freq: 25, but it adds the channel on freq: 30 to my lineup, instead.

I have tried deleting all channel 5 subchannels, rebooting, and then only adding the channel 5 on freq: 25...but the freq: 30 ones are added, instead.
I have also tried adding all 8 channels: four with freq: 25 and four with freq: 30 (as shown in the photo), but only the four with freq: 30 get added (also, as shown in the photo).

I believe this is probably a bug in the way the selected channels are looked up and added to the database (maybe NextPVR is using the station call signs?).

I was originally using NextPVR v5.0 when I saw this problem...so I upgraded to v5.1, but the problem is still there.

Is there a workaround for this so I can get channels 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4 all added to my lineup with freq: 25?

Just updated to the latest version and my guide is completely blank as per attached.

Strange thing is it works fine on the browser of the NextPVR Server, but not from a browser on any other device.

I have fixed it by replacing the guide.html file from a previous version.

i have 2 monitors attached to my computer. when i maximize nextpvr while it is displayed on my primary monitor, it moves the display to my secondary monitor. it there a setting for this?...thanks!

I am not sure if I can explain this correctly, but here it goes:

I obtain EPG data from both XMLTV and SD.  When nextpvr does its EPG update it will query SD and then load the lastest xmltv file for a given source (such as pluto-xmltv.xml).  Is there a way to only re-load a current XMLTV file without an update to SD as well? and if so, how?

For instance SD supplies ~ two weeks worth of EPG data per update, whereas, plutotv around 6 hours of data.  I would like to be able to keep plutotv EPG data fresh throughout the day via periodic updates - without periodic updates from SD - i.e. only perform the xmltv file reload part of the nextpvr update.  Is this possible?

I have downloaded and installed the latest version, but still see the message below
