I'm setting up a new system with two ATI Theater 550s. If only one card is set up, live tv works. If two cards are set up, the channel becomes "stuck". I can click through the channels and it says it's changing channels, but it doesn't. Also, there is no audio when both cards are configured. Has anyone seen this before?
Hi, I have a problem with filesize of my recordings. They are simply huge. 30 minutes show ends up as 28 GB file.
Card is PVR-350, and GBPVR version is 0.99.12. I checker recording source (as suggested in one of the similar posts), but it seems to be correct (i.e. set to 'Hauppauge PVR-350').
I have a friend who would like to use gbpvr with a OTA HDTV card to record programming but he doesn't want to have the internet at home.
Is there a way he can download the program guide over the air? Barring that, he does have the ability to connect to the internet at work. Could he download the guide periodically from work to a USB drive and bring it home to install on his PC there?
but I thought I'd ask it anyway. I don't suppose there is anyway to run a second instance of the recording service on the same machine to be able to experiment with skins and still have a primary instance running that someone might be actually recording with.
I recently started using GBPVR, and one of the functions that drew my attention was the ability to browse YouTube and download flash files as mpegs in real time. How is this accomplished??? How can I emulate this behavior if I stumble upon other websites besides YouTube? I've done a few searches and found that there are tools that will convert swf files to mpegs. But extracting swf files itself appears to at times be tricky. Can anyone shed any light on this?
Is there any way to make the coloured buttons (red, yellow, gree, blue) clickable? I'd like to be able to use it either with a mouse, or preferably a small touchscreen, rather than a remote control.
I've been using gbpvr ver 98.13 since Nov 2006. 2 days ago, I decided to upgrade to 99.12, but since doing so, I randomly have no video displayed on the TV.
Most of the time, everything works fine, but every so often (maybe once in 8 or 10 times), when I select a recorded or live show to watch, the video portion of the show doesn't display. The "play-delete-close" window just stays on the screen with the menu in the background, but I can hear the audio portion of the show playing. I can then hit the 'back/exit" button on my Hauppauge remote, which closes the "play-delete-close" window, I can move to other programs on the 'recordings' menu and select another program to watch. I hear the audio of the newly selected show play, but still no video displays, only the menu and menu windows.
This also randomly happens when I am playing my collection of music videos. If I exit gbpvr, and restart it, everything is fine until the next time (8-10 tries later) that this happens. I don't have to reboot the computer, I don't have to stop the recording service to fix the problem. Only exit gbpvr to the desktop, the restart gbpvr. It doesn't happen with any specific show or music video, it's purely random.
I'm running a PVR150. Before making this post, I set my log files to 'debug' mode, and then ran gbpvr until the problem occured, then exited gbpvr and zipped the log files, which are attached. The 2 shows I most recently experienced this with were andy grifith shows, and should be the most recents entries in the logs.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I'm using sharpdevelop and after compiling a new plugin dll, I execute gbpvr, and the debugger can stop and start the process and view all the threads but you can't set any breakpoints. Is there a way to load up GBPVR and still have the ability to set breakpoints in your plugin code?
VOB/MPEG support in mvpmc can be implemented in two ways, native mode and in emulation. The following summarizes some differences between the two.
1. Native mode. Native mode means having mpvmc accessing files directly from a file share (ie Windows share, NAS) using mpvmc's Filesystem menu option. VOB files show up as individual files and they can be selected and played. DVD specification mpeg's should be fine subject to to AC3 issues later.
PROS
- mvpmc has direct access to the file can controls file positioning, pause, mute etc.
- selection of multiple audio and subtitle streams is possible.
- remote control option to resync a/v
- not as susceptible to PTS timecode problems as GBPVR
- stable.
CONS
- shares must be configured manually using linux syntax in the dongle.bin.config file. This can be challenging.
- linux file system display not familar
- all file types mixed a la Windows Explorer (for me a PRO)
2. Emulation mode.
Emulation mode is simply your GBPVR server streaming the VOB/MPEG file to mvpmc without transcoding. If this doesn't work, it might be possible to rename the VOB to MPG
PROS
- works with existing setup files.
- excellent GBPVR user interface.
CONS
- selection of multiple audio and subtitle streams is not yet possible
- remote control option to resync a/v is not implemented.
- emulation mode still going through testing.
3. AC3 Support in VOB/MPEG streams
There is a seperate thread on this forum for AC3 audio but to summarize, it really is only available to those users who (1) have audio passthru configured in mvpmc, (2) for those who have a newer model MediaMVP or those who have applied the SPDIF mod (recently documented by jksmurf) and (3) your MVP would then need to be hooked up to a stereo. If not the AC3 stream is decoded in software and the MVP processor is not fast enough to keep up so the file is not playable.
After all this the audio is guaranteed to be out of sync so no money back. May be ok for Ashley Simpson and Milli Vanilli videos, foreign films and animation, some documentaries, and perhaps children's videos. It likely will be possible to improve this
This probably only works for MPEG-PS type files, I don't have any MPEG-TS files with AC3 to test.
In emulation mode because the audio stream currently cannot be selected, any MPEG audio stream in the file will automatically be selected.
