  MSI K9AGM2-FIH --Replacement for K8NGM2-FID
Posted by: rowle1jt - 2007-03-22, 08:55 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

I just read a review on it from trustedreviews.com. Seems like a very nice update to the K8NGM2 board (which I absolutely love!). Updated to an AM2 socket, but it is down to 2 ram slots where the K8 variant like I have has 4. Also no DVI but it does have HDMI and an on board x1250 video card!

One thing that I like about it, is that it is fan less. The north bridge and south bridge are passively cooled, this is noted in the review as well.

Review is here.

Now... how do I convince the wife that we "need" a new mobo/proc/ram on a machine that is only about a year old? Big Grin LoL

  Getting content on Archos
Posted by: jaysoma - 2007-03-22, 04:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I just recently purchased an Archos device and am salivating at getting video content from the web onto it. Seems like I can capture flash files from YouTube and GBPVR converts it to mpeg on the fly, which I think kicks ass. How is this accomplished? Also there are other sites that have content I want (like peekvid) but I cannot seem to be able to save the videos to my drive. Any idea why? Thanx in advance.

Would like to take this opportunity to say that GBPVR rocks. I use the web interface while I am at work to record stuff I could not watch otherwise. I show it off at work all the time.

  ScreenSaver error in logs
Posted by: capone - 2007-03-22, 04:34 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

I nvr see anything up front, but the logs get clogged up when using the screensaver plugin. The error is the same (below) and repeats every 3min. I figured I would mention it, in case it's part of an error that would happen in time that would cause a problem.

Here are my settings:
<ScreenSaverPlugin>
<DefaultScreenSaver>Analog Clock Screen Saver</DefaultScreenSaver>
<AltScreenSaverIfNoMusicPlaying>Basic Screen Saver</AltScreenSaverIfNoMusicPlaying>
<VideoScreenSaver>Analog Clock Screen Saver</VideoScreenSaver>
<ScreenSaversToIncludeInCycle>Basic Screen Saver,Picture Slideshow Screen Saver,Analog Clock Screen Saver,</ScreenSaversToIncludeInCycle>
<CycleScreenSavers>True</CycleScreenSavers>
<PictureSlideshowSourcePath>C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Plugins\WebCamsCache\</PictureSlideshowSourcePath>
<PictureSlideshowIncludeSubFolders>True</PictureSlideshowIncludeSubFolders>
<CycleInterval>60</CycleInterval>
<RenderInterval>60</RenderInterval>
<AllowFFRWPassThrough>True</AllowFFRWPassThrough>
</ScreenSaverPlugin>

Is the Celeron D Processor 356 ample processing power to use gbpvr? For standard def? Hi-def?

  File size and Quality
Posted by: akreig - 2007-03-22, 12:20 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

My recordings are running at about 2gb per thirty minute show, and with that type of space i was expecting a pretty good playback. But the show looks pretty shotty for that amount of space. Yes it is watchable, but i think that i am missing something. I am using a diamond USB capture source.

Record Howard Stern over the internet
Posted by: JoeH@pcwz.com - 2007-03-22, 10:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi:

Wheather you like him or hate him he is popular. I would like to setup GBPVR to record the Howard Stern show over the internet from sirius.com. I know I have to logon manually, but after that the connection stays live for days.

I don't want to install a tuner card but will if that's the only way it will work.
I have searched the forums and have not found any setup info for just internet radio.

Does someone know how to do this. Or just point me to an artical.

Thanks very much. And BaBa Buie to you all! Smile

Two problems:
1. youtube playback: clicking on the file does not do anything. The log shows the following-

2, divx playback: clicking on the avi file does nothing as well. The log shows the following:
