I know this might violate gbpvr rules by posting a non-specific GBPVR question, but I have about a 200millisecond lag on my dvd audio. Is there a way of somehow delaying the video so it syncs better? Or a way of having it play the audio at the right time? My dvd player is in my computer, the tv-out is svideo and the sound travels through an optical cable to my HT system. Any help will be much appeciated.
I am having a problem with recorded shows not being the correct length. For example, I record a 30 minute show and have a buffer of 2 minutes at the start and 2 minutes at the end. I would expect the recording to be about 34 minutes in length. Instead, I often find that my recording is between 29 and 31 minutes. It is almost like the recording service is busy and not responding at the appropriate start time of the show. Has anyone else experienced this?
The problem seemed to show up after I upgraded to the latest version of the software around the new year.
Here is a little background about my setup. I am running Windows XP Home on a 2.4 GHz Celeron with 768 MB RAM. I have two Hauppauge MCE 500 tuner cards installed.
I know this has been an issue for some others, but I'm not certain what the fix is. Recorded shows and live TV both have distorted audio and start to clip. It's like the card is adding gain to the volume, and when a scene has a lot of action, or people start yelling, you can hear the audio distort and clip. I'm running the newest drivers from hauppauge, the 2.7 release, but I'm at a loss for fixing this issue. I'm aware of the tweak tool, but I'm not sure that it will work with the current hauppauge drivers. I found some information about registry tweaks, but once again, not certain they would affect my version. I did change:
any way you could add the currently playing file to gbpvrcli?
whether it be mp3 or mpg or avi....
i have a nice lcd app that works great even for live tv and timeshift, but i can't get any info on file playback, all i need is filename and i can get the rest from database..
tho i could also use gbpvrcli for that too...
[but direct sqlite access gives me the speed needed for such a instantaneous feedback with little resource use for db access..even tho i like the way your app formats the output better..]
it reads the db directly and writes the data to the registry for lcd smartie to read, very efficient...no disk accesses at all...[cept for the db read]
all needed for a live, constantly refreshed app...
so any help woulld be fantastic...i just can't figure out those events or how to get them out...
also, can your dll's be accessed directly?
I've developed a problem whereby some scheduled recordings are failing, but though the logs suggest the recording has been cancelled, the recording service icon remains green and the CPU usage gets stuck on 100%. Though the computer is then very slow to respond, I can still restart the recording service, at which point the recording will start as it should; but my worry is that, having a fanless (Tranquil) case, I'm not too happy about going out and leaving a recording scheduled if the CPU might have been fully loaded for hours when I get back.
My tuner is a recently installed Hauppauge HVR-1300, though in the configuration I have it set as a Nova-t (90002) as this is what GBPVR seems to recognize it as. Anyway, I never have any trouble with Live TV, and most recordings work as scheduled, so I don't know if the problem would be a tuning issue or not. Does anything in the logs suggest this, or give a clue as to why it should lock up and not close the recording service properly on failure? (the failed recording is the last one in the recording service log, scheduled for 20.00).
I am having problems getting my PostProcessing.bat file to run when I record mutiple programs that end at the same time. It runs on which ever one actually stoped first then on the next recording starts on next available call. Here is my file if it helps.

Great product. installed it last week, (i'm the one who didn't know to install .net or a video decoder). Just followed thru w/ the quartz.dll 9.0b install (thanks to all the posts on that) it solved my last jerky video problem. if i can get my kenwood vrs 8100 networked onto this, i got my pvr for the ages! thanks
I'm using a Twinhan Starbox 2 (USB) on Nimiq 1 (Canada). Its works very well.
I'm trying to display subtitle on Live TV but with no success. I have checked "Enable DVB Subtitles" box in "misc" tab of the config application. When i look LiveTV, i press "^Y" key, and Subtitles doesn't appear.
Here's in cut/paste from "gbpvr.exe.log" file :

Lets face it, sometimes you want to watch more than one video at once and perhaps you don't want to watch them in the order they're already in (as in "Play All").
How about in the Video and Recordings Menu you have the option (off to the side like where the "Transcode" feature is) to add a selection to a playlist that can be played through. Would be really great when you're watching stuff before you go to sleep!
You can specify to set the link to the posting to the local LAN file name or it defaults to the download process offered out of EWA.
You can choose to use your WAN IP (default) or set your own LAN IP or use a Machine name. This is the address to access your GBPVR Server. It is used in the links that are embedded in the content of the feed.
I will add the ability to set your EWA port and EWA Streamer port with the next update.
You can set where to store the RSS feed files....by default it places them in the gbpvr\web\public folder since this is an open folder that does not require login to access.
The genrss.exe file will create (if there is content to create) files for each type of recording.
