Hi,

I'm using a Twinhan Starbox 2 (USB) on Nimiq 1 (Canada). Its works very well.

I'm trying to display subtitle on Live TV but with no success. I have checked "Enable DVB Subtitles" box in "misc" tab of the config application. When i look LiveTV, i press "^Y" key, and Subtitles doesn't appear.

Here's in cut/paste from "gbpvr.exe.log" file :

2007-02-12 22:09:58.250 VERBOSE [1] No key mapping found for: ^CONTROLKEY
2007-02-12 22:09:58.296 VERBOSE [1] No key mapping found for: ^CONTROLKEY

</service>
</transponder>

Any idea !?!

Do they use DVB Subtitles or some other subtitle system like the north american CC system?

Sorry Sub, i really don't know.

I already used MyTheater and its works. Nimiq 1 is a Bell Expressvu Satellite.

According to that bit of log above, no DVB subtitle streams were found, so I have to guess they are using some other format that GB-PVR doesnt support (but MyTheatre does).

Because they'd normally be listed in the XML channel definition returned. Your one doesnt list any found DVB subtitle PIDs:

Quote:<transponder>
<network_id>256</network_id>
<transport_stream_id>21</transport_stream_id>
<original_network_id>256</original_network_id>
<service>
<service_name>ABC-E</service_name>
<TSID>21</TSID>
<service_ID>281</service_ID>
<service_type>1</service_type>
<pmt_PID>32</pmt_PID>
<video_PID>4130</video_PID>
<audio_PID lang="000" audio_type="0">4131</audio_PID>
<scrambled>true</scrambled>
</service>
</transponder>

Its important to differentiate between 'subtitles' which you're saying, and 'dvb subtitles' which I'm saying. It may have some type of subtitle stream, but it doesnt seem to have a 'dvb subtitle' or 'teletext subtitle' stream, which are the types GB-PVR can understand. Other types like the ClosedCaption system also exist, but there is no support for them in GB-PVR.

No, thats just showing that the 'DVBSubtitle' pin that GB-PVR always creates is not associated with any PIDs (stream).

Wow! Quick answer. Thanks.

You're right, no PID is associated. I think is a CC type (ClosedCaption).

You said ClosedCaption is not supported in GBPVR but in the "misc" tab it has an option named "Show Closed Captions (Intervideo/VMR7/VMR9)", Is that used for what ?
