I decided to change my PIN yesterday. Much to my surprise, connecting to my server with the iOS app still worked, without updating the PIN on the iOS side. I wasn't sure if maybe this had to do with being on my home WiFi, but today I was at my parent's house and did some more testing while I was there. I did a hard close of the iOS app, then restarted the app and deleted the existing host entry. I did another hard close of the app, then started it again and made a new host entry - but supplying the *old* PIN. Access to my NextPVR server still worked. Then I repeated the steps just mentioned. This time, I entered "abcd" for the PIN (obviously, that is not my actual PIN). Access to my server still worked. So it seems like the NextPVR server is not checking the PIN at all.
And I *am* sure that the new PIN entry worked, because I was no longer to use Kodi to connect to my server until I updated to the new PIN. Starting Kodi with the old PIN gave me some error message about not being able to connect or start the plugin, which seemed like reasonable behavior. Anyway, for some reason, it looks like the PIN check is being bypassed entirely for the iOS app. So it looks like my server is wide open to anyone who connects to the correct port on my router. The server I'm running is version 5.0.9.201026 on Docker (64 bit).
I am currently running a single USB TVB-T2 tuner on a Windows Server Essentials 2016 set up as a media server, and I am looking to expand my PVR so I can record and watch more than one channel at a time... I have seen the above card for a good price, and was wondering if anyone is still running it, and whether it is worth getting. I know that it I may not get it going on my Server 2016 machine, but I have a Windows 10 machine I can use as a Next PVR server.

Been getting intermittent issues with my DVB-S dual tuner (Freesat UK) where recording streams appear to start and then just stop within seconds or minutes. This may be a tuner fault (fairly old hardware now, no more driver updates), BUT NextPVR doesn't seem to even notice that the recording stream has stopped when this happens. The tuner status and the recordings page in the windows client and web UI all show that the programs are still being recorded / have their expected full length, its only when I try to play them that I know things have gone wrong this way.
Anyway, this occurred with 3 recordings tonight after a fairly reliable run of a few days so I thought it would be a good opportunity to capture the logs (I've also attached the recording ts files themselves as they are so small), in case someone can determine what's wrong or if there's anything can try, short of buying a new tuner card.
Having issues with the recordings. It seems the Ts file doesnt add the end / finsihed point into the file when the show is done.
When i load the file it starts playing find, but the duration of the file says 24+ hours.
If i watch without hitting any buttons, it is ok, but as soon as i try to forward past commercials, or start in the middle, nextpvr wont play it anymore.
If i try to skip ahead, it bounces it back to the same spot with every press of the button.
Ive tried playing the file within Media player and kodi, both with the same result.
I previously used NextPVR v4 together with Kodi as frontend. Now I installed the latest NextPVR v5. Everything works fine except encrypted channels are not decrypted any more. Did I miss that CI/CAM is not supported any more / not yet or should it work? In v4 there was the option to use CI/CAM for the tuner, which is also not available now in the v5 configuration web site.
My TV card is a Digital Everywhere FloppyDTV-S2 with an Irdeto Cryptoworks CI Modul and valid card. Other receiver programs are capable of decoding, so the hardware seems to be fine.
The guide in nextpvr 5 updates fine automatically. But the guide does not update automatically in kodi. I know I can clean data and it will reload the guide and update. But is there a command in kodi to do this ? I can program a key in a kodi skin or assign a button on a remote. Apparently the command "startpvr" used to work in kodi but has now been discontinued.
I hope somebody here can help me with this. I am using NPVR V5 for recording TV programmes off air. However, back in May when I updated Windows 10 from version 1909 to version 2004, the recordings I then made were unwatchable (picture all broken up, freezing etc) so I went back to version 1909, and all was fine again. When the new W10 update came recently (version 20H2) I again gave it a try, but with the same result, so again I've gone back to version 1909. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so is there a workaround?
