What I am trying to do is have recorded live TV shows without commercials, start to finish, with an accurate timeline, renamed, etc...
I figure padding the recording by 1 min at the start and finish while recording, then using comskip, comclean, retime and rename would do the trick. But...
The doc's for retime show an example of: move â%~dpn1.mpgâ â%~dpn1_faulty.mpgâ
retime â%~dpn1_faulty.mpgâ â%~dpn1.mpgâ
comskip %1
rectracker %1 > rectracker.log
Wouldn't this "retime" the video prior to removing commercials? That is fine as long as I can run it again after removing the commercials to again correct the timeline.
What I "think" will work is: comskip %1
call comclean %1
move â%~dpn1.mpgâ â%~dpn1_faulty.mpgâ
retime â%~dpn1_faulty.mpgâ â%~dpn1.mpgâ
RenameRecording.exe -t %1 > rename.log
The example's "%~dpn1.mpg" part confuses me, as the video files do not have "dpn1" in the file name. So I am not sure what that will do.
Any of you knowledgeable/guru's have an example for me to cut and paste?
Or direct me to a more favorable way to accomplish my desired results?
Or even direct me to a thread where this has been covered?
I am a GBPVR noob. Yes I did some searches but didn't really find what I was looking for.
Thanks in advance!
PS - I'm an infrastructure guy, not a programmer... be gentle with me.
I just loaded version 0.99.5 last night.. and I scheduled few recordings.. and today I found directories based on the show names but all recorded files were empty.... I checked the log and it looks fine.....

I love this line "Recording is unusually small." yeah.. because it's empty.....
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this.. or where can I get previous versions. I am running on WinXP.... I used the program for some time on
Win2K without any problems....
I just installed my MCE remote V2. In the remote all buttons working with GBPVR but 'start' button is not working. How can i configure that button to open start menu?
Hi, Is it possible to use a NOVA-S pci card with gbpvr? I have tried installing this but i have not had much luck. The tuning Assistant does not list my card. If someone can help that would be great. thanks
I was doing a bit of testing this morning and it looks like I may have the nova-t-500 "death from standby" problem.
I'd set it to record something or other that was coming up and let it drop into standby (I normally leave the box running) and at the time it came out of standby but went off again shortly after.
Does the snippet from the log indicate that the nova is not responding??
cheers
Martin
p.s. is the RecordingStatus.RECORDING_COMPETED spelling a deliberate mistake?
Hi Sub and All,
I just received my OnAir GT and was having trouble getting the product to find channels during a scan. I noticed that I was not using .99. After upgrading channels now show up during the scan. However, during channel mapping I keep getting an "unexpected exception error" in channel mapping. I have attached a screen shot and a copy of the details that the error provides.
My new shiny PVR won't play DVDs. All I've installed is a fully patched XPprof SP2, IE7, WMP11, .NET 1.1 and 2, The trial versions of PowerCinema and PowerDVD. I have the Cyberlink Vidoe/SP Decoder (PDVD7). No combination of DVD navigator, playback decoder, system default, VMR settings works as far as I can see. PowerDVD and WMP11 both play DVDs with no problem. It's a completely fresh reinstallation. The screen for DVDs is black, mouse movements causes "Exit" to appear bottom right, but nothing plays. Logs attached. Any suggestions appreciated.
Guys, the below two messages keep me from even configuring GB-PVR
When starting the configuration tool, I get an popup window saying Error loading plugin list properly. See the attachment. I installled .NET 2.0 and MDAC as you described in the install instructions. I am runing windows 2000.
When I start the configuration utility I am getting this ugly message:
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Also, I cannot save my configuration, GB-PVR will spit a similar message if i try to save my config.
I installed Real Player 10, ensured that the configuration is set up to point to the realplay.exe file, but when trying to play a BBC dynamic sources that were sync'd with the default real player, the error "Media player applciation missing" appears, and states that it can't run RealPlayer (file realplay.exe) when trying to play the stream.
I don't seem to have any problems with running windows media player and tlc streams, the only two other players I have installed. (although the CNN dynamic sources have problems with the color (8 bit color only?) - but should be the topic of another thread)
