I`ve just installed the latest GB-PVR, and I`ve got the S-Video TV-Out
working in Clone mode on my 4:3 TV from my Nvidia 6600GT GFX card, and
the results are stunning, I`m really impressed with any TV, DVD`s or Videos
played on the TV.
The problem I`ve got is that when I bring any menus up, they look fine on
my monitor, but on my TV they are huge, and do not `scrunch up` to fill
the whole screen on the TV like the Video does in Clone mode.
It`s a little like when you`re looking at a large desktop through TV-out in
Clone Mode, and the mouse will scroll over the desktop landscape on the TV.
Does GB-PVR have a facility to fill the TV-Out screen as a full-screen device,
as the Overlay does when playing video onto it, or am I left with the large
menu`s?
I just took the plunge and bought an MVP for my house since I have a GBPVR system in my bedroom. My GBPVR machine is one of the single greatest inventions EVER! Love it!
So now I've got this MVP so I can use the GBPVR machine in more than one room (mostly just to watch recorded shows, not schedule recordings or anything really). It works great and was a snap to set up (once I remembered Windows has a firewall :p ). There are some minor questions and issues I have though. I'm using GBPVR v.99.05 and the default dongle.bin that came with it. The MVP is revision D1 I believe.
1) The picture quality is just ok. The picture is dark, so I went into direct.ini on the GBPVR box and set ALL video settings to 100 (setting one of them or a few of them didn't help). This makes the video quality on the MVP better, but still not nearly as bright or clear/crisp as when I play it on the GBPVR box through the TV. The only cabling difference is the MVP is using RCA video cables and the GBPVR box is using an SVideo cable. Would that create THAT much difference? If not, what more can I do to improve picture quality? It's not unwatchable, but it could definitely be better. Also, does changing the video settings in direct.ini affect the GBPVR box itself, or just the MVP unit?
2) The video stretches off the top of the screen by a small amount. Is there a way to adjust the video size from the MVP? From browsing through the forums it seems like there isn't, so maybe THIS can be corrected by going to an SVideo cable. Again, this is a minor annoyance because it doesn't seem to cut off much, just enough that when viewing the main menu of GBPVR through the MVP I can only see the bottom half of the clock at the top.
As I play with it I'm sure I may have more questions, but those are the 2 issues I've ran into so far. Like I said, nothing so terrible that I can't live with either of them. Great work! Thanks very much!
I've had running for some weeks a single Asus MyCinema P7131 Dual under Windows XP and the latest versions of GB-PVR (currently v0.99.5). This is in Sydney, Australia if it matters.
To get it working initially I had to update the BDA.INI with the details suppied earlier in this thread (thanks Lulugt6) - I think it's now part of the standard install.
Now I'm looking for assistance/suggestions as to how to get this working with two or more cards?
I add the new card (same device/firmware as the original card) as per normal and it scans OK, but further investigation seems to indicate it is using the original card for the scan. I've tried changing the Device Number without success (ie - nothing detected during scan).
If I leave it as the original device (both as Device Number 1) then when I try to watch Live TV it tells me it has no Signal Strength?
Are there any more "exotic" options in teh BDA.INI to help me configure the additional card?
Hi. I am trying to add channels for the TV portion of the program but have had no luck yet, I Have the TV Wonder Elite Pro. How do I setup channels for this card to include the S-Video and Composite inputs
We have experience some "frame dropping" since a couple of week (99.05 update).
I have a dedicate DELL PC, connect with 2 PVR 150 to 2 setup box.
I use only 2 MediaMVP to control GBPVR. I dont use the PC for access GBPVR (as client).
The problem look like a "fast forward" during a couple of second (Sometime 1 minute). The problem is in the mpg file because when I use a mpg viewer (PowerDVD, VLC) the problem is there too (at the same place...)
The problem is not in all recording, and could be there 1, 2, 3 time in the same recording.
I could not find why?
I thing that the CPU is to busy when the problem occur, but the only software is GBPVR with 2 MVP server.
2 of my friends have exactly the same setup (same DELL, same PVR 150, same USB-UIRT, ... ), and they have the problem since the version 98.?? (no problem with 97.??)
But the problem appear at different time and different frequency.
Does somebody have same kind of problem?
Maybe the problem is with the MVP server, because I try to remove the MVP server for a week an no recording have problem during this time.
Maybe we can thing that the problem is there when 2 recording is done at the same time (because hard disk is more active), but the problem appear sometime with only 1 recording.
The problem could appear during a nigth recording (no boby use MVP; MVP are on screensaver)
I read/search forum frequently, but I dont find anything to solve/explain the problem.
Hi, I tried the Movies Plugin that is just released. I think this may fit the My Videos Plugin that is not longer available. But i tried to search for Iso Images
and seems not able to find them. I did change the Search to include ISO,
Is their something missing? thanks jh
The Advisor skin is dead and replace by the Basic skin.
The Basic skin conforms to the _CoreImages standard.
But the Basic skin has some extra features compared to the Blue skin.
I noticed some of my recordings were recording the wrong channel the other day. I did a survey of my setup, and found that indeed I might have entered some of the channel mappings wrong. But, digging a little deeper, I may have found a genuine issue, and I hope someone will tell me that my fears are unfounded.
I have 3 tuners in my DVR, one is the PVR150MCE and the other is the ATI Theater 650 Pro, which has one input for SD signals, and another for digital.
I have 3 inputs going here. My cable is a little weird as it has some programs on an A cable, and some on a B cable. Yes, there are actually a pair of coax cables comiing into the house. Then, third, I have HDTV/DTV coming in over the aerial. What this means is, I could have, say, a channel 3 that is THREE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS. One for the signal on Cable A, one for the signal on Cable B, and then another from the aerial.
So, my guess is, just because I tell the recorder that I want to record the DTV program on my guide on channel 3, it may go looking on another tuner/source for that channel. Is this correct? If so, I may have quite a dillema on my hands!
I have searched around but haven't come up with anything. I have rebuilt about 3 times, every time a newer version is released I would format and reinstall everything hoping the issue would get worked out, but no success yet, so I figured I'd finally post.
What is happening is randomly during navigation (it seems to be most previlant when I start a show then imediately stop it) GBPVR will crash on me and I will have to restart it. No windows error report, GBPVR just stops, and I have to doubble click the icon to restart it.
I looked at the lg file but I being barely a novice can't really make much sence of it. Basicly what I'm seeing is:
(start of where error occurs)
1/5/2007 6:40:08 PM.015 ERROR [1] System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

Does anyone have any sugestions for me? Like I said.. Brand new fresh install of latest GBPVR, Latest ATI Omega Drivers for video card, Latest Haupauge drivers for my 150 cards.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! You guys rock
THanks
