TV Listings, Community Skin, missing graphic
Posted by: zehd - 2006-12-17, 09:51 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

TV Listings, Community Skin, missing graphic

I have installed latest (prerelease), Community Skin 2.0 and using latest TV Listings plugin...

When I'm in the listings, and click record on the remote, I get an error indicating a graphics file is missing... (Communtiy/TV Listings/pending.png) After that error, I'm locked out of TV Listings until the time has passed, and It doesn't require the graphic...

I get myself out of it by going into TV Guide and cancelling the record...

I solved this by getting the *.png from the blue/TV Listings folder and copy them into the Community/TV Listings folder.

Thought I'd pass on that a couple of png's need to be added to the install for community skin

completed, conflict, error, in_progress, pending.png...

(BTW... Fantastic skinner...)

Origen AE X15e Remote - How to setup?
Posted by: RoyN - 2006-12-17, 08:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi Guys,

I'm new to GB-PVR, just moved over from Media Portal... I wish I had found this beofre, much more stable so far, and all the veatures i need (dvd, videos, cd, audio, live tv... all this extendable via network with the tuners in only one place... perfect)...

anyways, the main HTPC in my setup is in an Origen X15e case, and this case comes with a remote, supposedly MCE compatible (yes, it has the "windows MCE logo button")... The remote uses IRTrans software. Has anyone interfaced it to GBPVR? Some keys (like arrows) work, but they work as arrows outside of GBPVR. I dont know how to get it to recognize all the keys correctly... I have even tried HIP but couldnt set it up correctly I think, as it didnt work at all...

EDIT: A bit more digging through the GBPVR site... It seems that this is the remote: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/uploads/Main/MS-...eanbag.jpg , but mine didnt come with the IR reciever, it recieves through a IR eye in the case, and has irtrans already started in the OS... it loaded up with the drivers... Any ideas about how to proceed? Thanks! According to this: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardware/MCERemotes it is a MCE 2005 remote version 2

thanks for any and all input!
Roy

  Can't play recordings/video - System.Net.Sockets.SocketException
Posted by: mixedup - 2006-12-17, 07:59 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi Sub,

I'm getting an error when trying to play video "Unexpected error downloading file from server: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No such host is known". I seem to need to reboot (logout is not enough) to get things back to normal.

Things that may have changed in last couple of days:
* Windows security updates
* Installed MS Flight Sim

What I've tried
* Have tried to apply the patch you mention here, however the executable patch bombs out when I try to run it. I'll load a word doco with an indication of the error.

Any suggestions?

Extract from logs for error

Code:
17/12/2006 5:19:41 PM.421 VERBOSE [1] Unexpected error downloading file from server: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No such host is known at System.Net.Dns.GetAddrInfo(String name) at System.Net.Dns.InternalGetHostByName(String hostName, Boolean includeIPv6) at System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(String hostNameOrAddress) at GBPVR.Backend.Common.xfd4ccc57ec7c0067.xb8c7cea7e0eb7ecf(String x8b1d9e3189e6e73d)

  Poor Recording
Posted by: admiral ross - 2006-12-17, 04:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hello All!

I have a WinTV PVR-500 MCE. The channels come in with poor reception they aren't nice and sharp and clear. Is there a way to improve picture quality? Also, I don't like the MPEG2 recorder codec. The files are too big. I know that Divx or Xvid can make the files a lot smaller. How do I change the decoding format and improve picture quality?

Thanks,

Hello All!

I have a WinTV PVR-500 MCE. I installed the remote control and not all of the buttons work. I have no clue as to why the remote isn't working. I'd appreciate some help.

New Setup - First Card Now Missing
Posted by: csatech - 2006-12-17, 03:29 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

I've been playing with GBPVR for the last couple of days and decided to go ahead and build a dedicated system for it using 2 cards.

Everything is a fresh install OS, drivers, etc. I followed the basic install instructions in the longwalkthrough instructions.

Card1 is a Hauppage PVR-150. The card worked, although I have yet to be able to get audio working on that card (no audio in the Win2000 program either). I then installed card2; an ATI TV wonder Elite.

Here's where it all becomes interesting! when I installed the PVR-150 I set it up as Capture #1 and it accepted it properly, the audio problem not withstanding. i the physically installed the ATI card and when I went to set it up in the capture sources as capture #2 it wouldn't take (it said that the drivers weren't installed), so i tried it as Capture #1 and it works beautifully, sound and all.

However, now the PVR-150 isn't recognized at all as one of the Capture devices. I ran the DevicetypeCheck utility and it doesn't show up. I uninstalled/reinstalled the drivers and still have the same problem.

Any suggestions? First for the recognition of the capture source and second for the audio problem.

Thanks Much in advance!!

  Images with I-XMLTV in xrecord
Posted by: guy2545 - 2006-12-17, 01:15 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Hopefully someone can point me towards a simple solution to this some what annoying problem. I just recently started to use I-xmltv to pull my EPG data. I like the fact that I can schedule to only record new shows if I want. However, that little asterisk is actually causing some problems with images in xrecord. If I set up gbpvr to record only the new episodes of any show (the ones with a *), when I go to view the icon for the program in xrecord it says that it can not find a poster for it, despite the fact that there is one in the art directory for it. Of course I can not just add an asterisk to the image file names in the art directory , because windows doesn't like it.

This obviously doesn't affect actually watching the program or anything of real importance other than the WAF (which some may argue is more important than anything else...). I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks!
Steve

search epg/zap2it for all text, not just title: i.e. 'usc' vs 'college football'
Posted by: tunanugget - 2006-12-17, 12:58 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

would be nice to search for all of the text in the epg from zap2it rather than the titles. from what i've read, the search automatically just scans the title. however, certain sports event like college football, the title is 'college football'. u'd have to search for 'college football' and then find the particular team u want to record, i.e. 'usc'. u won't get any results if u typed 'usc'.

  Calling all ATI All-in-Wonder users.
Posted by: cdahmedeh - 2006-12-17, 12:56 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (24)

Hi,

Just like some of you guys, I am the owner of an ATI All-in-wonder (X800XT,). Many of you claimed that GBPVR works with it, unfortunately I can't say the same(many issues). Can you please tell me how to set it up. Here are some questions to be more precise :

-What version of Catalyst are you using ?
-How did you set up the WDM recorder plugin ?
-What codecs are you using ?
-Does the FM Radio work ? If not, i can show how since this is only thing that I was able to make work !

I think the best way to answer all these questions is to send your config.xml and config-recorders.xml

Thanks for you help people
