  using TV-Browser as EPG?
Posted by: lalala987 - 2006-11-26, 05:54 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Hi!
is it possible to use the tool "Tv-Browser" (http://www.tvbrowser.org/) as source for the built in EPG?
I like that tool, because it has lots of additional program information. it would be great if it was possible to integrate it into GB-PVR

best regards
Stefan

  Hauppauge 500 and Dish
Posted by: Ranman - 2006-11-26, 05:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

I have my system up and running with off the air ant. plugged into my card. Now I would like to set up a composite in for dish. When I plug it in from the Dish receiver to the video/audio in on the card. I set up another capture device with composite/external tuner as the source and added a channel called dish. I get nothing. I've done few searches and can't find exactly what I need to do to the configure file. I would like to be able to use my card (500) to record off-air and the video out from the sat. Can I do this and still have 2 off air capture devices set up? I thought I read I could. Or do I have to set one to the dish composite and the other to off air? I like being able to record 2 off air shows at one or one off air and one dish. Thanks!

  Channel Icons/Logos - HUGE pack
Posted by: drewkaree - 2006-11-26, 04:50 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (1)

Discussion going on in another thread, figured I'd separate this out to avoid hijacking it.

In re-setting up GBPVR, I ended up downloading a fair number of channel icons with CLT. I figured since I had almost all the pages anyway, I'd finish it off so others wouldn't have to do the same thing.

There's almost a thousand channel icons in this zip file, and I'd recommend using the Channel Logo Tool with this file. Follow the instructions at that link, and while it may be time-consuming, it certainly is a whole lot easier than the way I had to do it! Big Grin I'd guesstimate that if I had this file in the first place, using CLT would have taken me about half an hour with 70 channels. IMO, that's not too bad an investment to "customize" the TV Guide.

  9516 to 9813 upgrade - i think i'm hosed
Posted by: doogiehowser - 2006-11-26, 02:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

have been using gbpvr without any real issues except things i have been able to solve with forum help (!). i am not 100% sure how to tell what release of the software you are running unless you can find the old install msi or exe...but it appears that I was going to 9813 - the latest - from 9516.

I DID NOT BACK UP ANYTHING - why, because this is not my work, and I am ok with losing what i have.

but I am curious, as I am a software guy. i tried the install once, got the .ax registry problems, read the forum, notice the .NET 2.0 requirement, so upgraded that. Then i rebooted, and it went directly into the 9813 config and install. I loaded my zap2it EPG fresh, brough up the GBPVR UI and it appears that I lost everything...old recordings, recurring, one time, etc.

What was I supposed to do, that I did not, that would cause the reinstall to not see my old settings? any chance before i start rekeying everything, that it is renamed or something?

  installation folder
Posted by: glitch - 2006-11-26, 12:08 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Excuse me if this has already been posted (I couldn't figure out how to search forum threads and wasn't going to manually look thru all of them) but I had a heck of a time trying to get gbpvr working when placing the installation folder on something other than the C: drive. I got errors that various tables didn't exist in the mdb file despite my seeing them when I would open the mdb file in Access. After trying all sorts of things to narrow down the problem I finally decided to do an installation using the default directory and that fixed the problem. It would be nice if users could install it anywhere (the C: drive seems to be hard coded in somewhere) or at least be prevented from choosing something other than C: during the installation process.

  Sound but no vidio
Posted by: wutangmo15 - 2006-11-26, 08:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I had everything working but then put in a new hard drive and had to reinstall everything. I installed windows, then the Hauppauge PVR150 drivers, then GBPVR. Then I tried to see if i could use it and I heard the station but with no vidio. I have tried changing the VMR9 to VMR9 Custome Renderer and then to VMR7 but none of them work. The VMR9 Custom Renderer shows lines with sounds. The VMR9 and VMR7 play the audio with a black screen. Can any one please help me?

  Kworld NB0 TV-100
Posted by: thedave321 - 2006-11-26, 05:27 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

Hello,

I recently purchased a kworld NB- tv100 video capture card, because my DVR broke. I was unhappy with the software that was provided with the Card, and I have been searching for better software. I stumbled upon GB-PVR, and I knew this software was for me. However, the software does not support the card, and I have been trying to get the software to work by my self. After two hours of trying some random stuff, I am turning to the Forum for help. Anything suggestion or help would be greatly appreciated.

  EPG "File Lock" Erorrs?
Posted by: hollow5555 - 2006-11-26, 05:01 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

I'm having some trouble updating my EPG. It's supposed to be automatic, but my machine had some issues lately where the CPU fan died at the same time as the case exhaust fan, leading to overheating issues and the thing kept shutting down.

I got that straightened out, but my TV Listings are all empty. When I attempt to update the EPG I get the following error:

11/25/2006 11:49:33 PM.875 WARNING [1] Unexpected error removing old shows from EPG: File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry entry.

I'm running WinXP on a 2.8ghz Celeron with 512mb ram. GBPVR version is 97.13. My Zap2It account is good. I've also gotten a popup with the same error message and a note that my EPG may not be correctly configured. I'm trying to delete/recreate my EPG source to see if that will help.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Marc
